Does anyone else struggle to actually see themselves with a daughter?
Although this is my dream and I have actually always imagined having a girl to recipitate the relationship I have with my mum but I just can't imagine carrying a girl / having a girl as I have two boys and just see myself now as a boy mum?
I don't know if anyone who has a girl after boys can chime In and say whether they felt the same?
I think if I was to hear girl at our 20 week scan I would still feel like it's not real?!
Sorry for rabbiting on just been on my mind xxx

No it's definitely not just you. I feel like if I'm told at our gender scan that this baby is a girl I don't think I will believe it. But at the same time I don't know if I can imagine a third boy. Maybe I just can't imagine having three children period.

You're not alone. My DH and I cannot imagine having a daughter. My DH has always wanted one, but now after having our third boy it's hard for him to imagine ever having a daughter! He said if we went for a 4th he would almost hope for another boy! I've never imagined having a daughter, but I also always thought we would have mixed genders in our family.
Time will tell! So far having 3 kids isn't too bad...I'm only 11 days into it though [emoji23]!

How awful is this but I just found out my SIL is having her second girl !!
I so thought she was going to have a boy and everything would be perfect & shoved it my face how lovely to have one of each bla bla but no!! She has two of the same and I know how much her husband really wanted a boy coz he's really into rugby and he kept going on about it ...
Sorry to ramble on but this is the only place I can !!
Gosh I'm so bitter some times !! Xxx

I would be the same!! ^^^
It drives u insane until the gender scan doesn it!! I really hope you have a girl in there !
Also babygirlrequest I hear a lot of people say that about going from 3-4 isn't too bad - apparently it's worse going from 1-2 the adjustment of actually having another child there xxx

I would LOVE a girl but totally the same! I have a boys name picked already with a big old list of back-ups and no girl names!! I just know I'm carrying another boy!! DH dreamed we had 3 boys which prompted me to test! Xx

I've definitely found it! You definitely mellow out with each kid that arrives, after two it doesn't make a big difference I think! More noise but also lots more fun.

I have three boys and I'm pretty darn certain I'm having boy #4. Even when I try to think of having a daughter my mind won't even let me go there! I will sit and daydream about the ultrasound and try to envision seeing three lines and then my brain will make me see a turtle! I can't even make myself see what I want to see! Or if I daydream about giving birth and the baby comes out a girl, instantly my mind makes the girl into a boy! If I get told "it's a girl" next week I will probably not believe it. Actually, I know that it is a boy with such certainty that I will probably not go shopping until I actually give birth to a girl. I do not see myself with a daughter. I see myself with 5 boys, and know that my next sway will fail as well. My gut instincts have yet to be wrong!

I really understand what you mean, I feel like it would be impossible for me to have a girl... I have to keep telling myself that it is still a 50/50 shot and if we are swaying hopefully the odds are even better... but wow does my mind have a strong opinion on it lol I am terrified to daydream too much about a daughter because I keep getting this crushing feeling that it will never happen and to just move on.

I find it very hard to imagine me having a daughter. I see myself as an all boy mum. But on the otherhand I find it hard to imagine having another boy. DS2 is such a sweet little boy and I love having him as my baby. One moment my mind tells me I'm carrying a girl then the next moment it says stop day dreaming it can only be another boy.

I absolutely felt the same. Still do sometimes. On Halloween my daughter went trick or treating with my older sons and they came back and knocked on the door as a joke, and I answered it assuming it was a trick or treater, and saw only her for a moment before I noticed one of my sons with her. I was like, aw what an adorable little girl and then it took me a good 30 seconds before I realized, "oh she's mine!" :p

Thank u for your all your posts it seems we all feel the same - and I agree my mind (when I was pregnant last) wouldn't even let me imagine having a girl my instinct was to always shop for blue even thought we were team yellow until the birth ...
Atomic your little story is so lovely ! xxx

Hi butterflies you probably remember me from our chats in th HT section, just wanted to update that I've recently found out I'm expecting No:5! This one snook in most unexpectedly before I was supposed to go back for round 2 of HT. Initially I was so upset that I'd screwed up my chance but now I feel maybe it was just meant to be. I am totally expecting this one to be another boy and am trying not to even think that this could be a girl, I've actually spent the last 6 months coming to terms with that maybe I was only ever made to have boys since finding out I have pcos as this sways boys apparently, so I guess part of me too can't imagine having a girl either, what will be will be I guess! Good luck with your sway

Hi yes that's right. Thanks, I'm anywhere between 8 & 10 weeks not sure because of irregular cycles. Was waiting to go back on the pill so I could time things ready for another ivf cycle and thought I'd already ovulated hence why I'm more likely to be less weeks than my LMP date suggests. Total shock as I've never convinced this quickly before, had to practically stand on my head for months to catch the others lol. Will probably be finding out as I have done with all of them, will die of curiosity before 40 weeks is up! Lol though like I said I'm fully expecting to hear boy. Not long now for your sway! Xxx

Lol fat mess! Love this time of year for food! Thought girl sway was low calorie and exercise. It's certainly took some to get my head round this one, bought the meds and everything, hardly DTD that month either due to hubby having a bad knee injury!xxx
