now that I've found out im pregnant, I am bursting with excitement to find out what I am having!! I feel like I have done everything I can and now would love to just relax and find out how it all worked out lol

I have heard about blood tests you can get done as early as 9 weeks - has anyone had these done? if so, who did you go through to get it done? (I am in Australia too) I found some places online but wasnt sure how legit they were eg. Baby Gender Test in Australia | Boy Girl DNA Test | Blue or Pink | EasyDNA AU (http://www.easydna.com.au/baby-gender-test/) or Gender Test: Product Home: Nimble Diagnostics Australia: Paternity, Paternity Test, Early Gender Test, DNA Ancestry Test, Personal Drug Test, Nutraceuticals, Paternity Testing, Early Gender Testing, DNA Ancestry Testing, Personal Drug Testing, Cancer (http://www.nimblediagnostics.com.au/home/gen.html)

I am also curious about whether U/S technology has improved since 2013 when I had my 2nd pregnancy, whats the earliest they can usually tell what your having?

Thanks so much for your advice ladies xo

I'm not really sure about those ones, they look like you provide them with a sample which is only a few drops of blood.

Here is a thread about some places that do proper blood tests like Harmony.
http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/48484-harmony-tests-aus.html

They are a bit more expensive than the ones above but at least they are known to be genuine. I think you can test from 10wks.

It's from 10 weeks. Gene syte through Genea is 450$. Takes a week to get the results. Better now that you can test within Australia

Sonic genetics (Douglass hanly Moir) in Australia do harmony test from 10wks and the testing is done here in Australia for $450 with results after about 5 days. Many of the other ones are sent to the U.S. And take longer to get results back. I have seen some of the websites for the ones you have listed and I just don't feel confident in them. I've also seen feedback re collection of these samples and a few ladies stressed that it wasn't merely a few drops of blood and that it was actually quite difficult to collect yourself.

Also you can get an early gender scan done from 15wks [emoji4]

I had the Harmony test done at 11 weeks. It's supposed to be 99.8% accurate for gender. It also tests for trisonomies

Here in the US you can have the doctor do blood tests around 11 weeks. It used to only be for over 35 or high risk. But now my friends who are under 35 and low risk are getting them done for free (well through insurance).

In the US I did a the first trimester test (I don't know the official name) and they told me the sex at 12-13 weeks.

Well congrats missiz! I just found out I'm pregnant too! Hoping for a sticky bean :)

The blood tests sound good, I have never had them but a word on the gender scans, unless they are 4 d they make many mistakes and it has happened to me. It's more common they tell you girl and you have a boy than the other way (by like 10 times) so without a great US I wouldn't use that to determine gender 100%!

GL!

WE are looking for "nipty or nifty" type test like Harmony and Panorama. The others aren't worth it.

congrats to you too!!! wishing for a sticky bean for you :fx: we might end up due date buddies :)

ill keep that in mind about the U/S, my sister was told at 14.5 wks and then again at 16 weeks that she was having a girl and the 20 week scan ended up being boy, so I do suppose its easy enough to mistake.

It's not the usual situation with a skilled tech, though.

I'm in Melbourne and had the NIPT blood test at 10 weeks. It is the same as the harmony but done at the Royal Children's Hospital through victorian genetics. I had my results in 5 days.
Congrats on your pregnancy

Yea I looked up where the collection places for the NIPT test is and the closest one for me is Gold Coast, which is an hr and a half away :(
So are you having a boy or girl? Also, did you do HT or sway naturally? Congrats on your pregnancy too! not long to go for you now being almost 32 wks

I am in the Northern Rivers, Lismore. So my closest would still be the Gold Coast

Yes they do them all the time there - ask about a "nip-t or nifty" test. Harmony, Panorama, and a few other names
