TTC a Girl Sway Attempt
Gender Result:
GIRL!!!!
DW Age:
34
DH Age:
34
Current Children's Gender(s)
Boy 4, Boy 2
Number of Months TTC
2
Did you purchase and follow a GD Personalized Plan?
Yes
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? LE(Low Everything)

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
This was a HUGE change for me. I tracked my regular diet with My Fitness Pal prior to starting LE and I had days where I'd have 100g of both fat and protein. I used to eat red meat regularly, lots of milk, green tea, chai tea, tons of avocado, cheese, chocolate...I changed my diet SO drastically to do LE. Also used to snack constantly- I stopped and it was so hard!
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
13 weeks. But gave up green tea, whole dairy, and red meat about 2 months before that.
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
Ate a lot less red meat/meat in general since I wasn't cooking it. Drank 12oz soy milk (almost) daily.
DId you consume alcohol? Often- daily

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
I changed from a matcha green tea latte daily to coffee. I did not give up meat entirely, but dropped all red meat and kept chicken/tuna within LE limits. Also ate some cheese/chocolate/dairy within limits of LE. Pushed breakfast back but did eat breakfast fairly early on the days I ran (~5 days/week). Had a cheat meal about every 2 weeks where I went way over on fat I'm sure. Had to add in more empty calories as weight dropped quickly in the beginning, so lots of jelly beans, beer, cosmos :)
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
We drank a lot more than we typically do- most nights I had a cosmopolitan or two before bed. Sometimes beer. DH drank more too because I was.
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
Dropped from 128 (Bmi 21) to 117 (Bmi 19). Definitely my lowest adult weight.
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
Went from active lifestyle (walking, chasing 2 kids) but ZERO official exercise to running 5-6 miles a day 5 times a week. On days I exercised I ate a toaster strudel after running (~10:30am), but skipped breakfast if I did not run. At the very end I had to add half a banana prior to running as my blood sugar was too low to run without getting dizzy.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known
No clue
Any VG potions used? NO

CM pH at attempt
No clue
DH pH
-
How many BD attempts did you make for the BFP cycle?
1
BD Dates according to Ovulation 1 Day Before O

Any additional comments?
DH noticed a difference in his output/libido...who knows if it was the soy milk, tight underwear that he switched to, or increase in bike riding. Something changed.
THE DEED INFO
DH Info about Swimmers BD every few days

BD Position
Doggy style
Did you Jump and Dump? Yes

Any relevant attempt details?
10 minute j&d, female O on atomic's advice because I was getting so exhausted by the diet and exercise and was getting anxious to get pg.
SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements folic acid

DH Supplements Cranberry

Any additional supplement info?
Also took iron 3x per week for iron deficiency. DH drank soy milk almost every day (12oz and he could only stomach the chocolate kind).
Did you do anything with Ions?
No
Moon Phase during conception?
Last Quarter
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
No
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
Diet and exercise. One attempt. The diet and exercise were so different from my normal (that I conceived 2 boys with), I felt and looked so different, and my CM went from always having a ton to next to nothing. With both boys we DTD every day for at least a week surrounding O vs just once this time. Also this was cycle 2 off of mirena so hopefully that helps.
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
That I didn't neccesarily stick to the "spirit" of LE- I ate mostly nutritious foods just within the limits. Also that I feel like such a boy mom :)
Things worth mentioning:
This will be our last baby and I am so excited to have another little person in our family. I wanted to give this a shot because I dream of a daughter, but ultimately if a third little boy joins our crew then I know he was meant to be.

I think your sway sounds brilliant! How the hell did you manage to run so much with a 4 and 2 year old?! I had to do no exercise as couldn't ever fit in loads of it. Your circumstances and sway are very similar to mine, I've got 2 boys aged 4 and 2 and have just got a BFP. Will post my sway soon too. Will you find out sex? I'm thinking that I won't. Is that unusual on this site? It seems to be the norm with all these nub shot posts. I figure that if I find out I'm having another boy I've got 20 weeks to stew on it, whereas how can I be disappointed with a beautiful newborn boy in my arms? Thoughts?

Firstly congrats on your bfp!!
Secondly not finding out during my last pregnancy made me very depressed with people guessing and saying stupid things about oh I bet u want a girl fingers crossed its a girl bla bla I was losing sleep over my nub photos and spent hours watching ultrasound videos to see if they were like mine to determine the sex and it occupied my mind constantly it's rediculous ... I had gender disappoint when I didn't even know it existed and it very much kicked in the second they handed him to me and stayed a long time ... I love him to peices now and am looking forward to having another baby and will try my hardest during my sway next January ...
I will 100% find out this time so I can shut down people with their rude comments and decorate the nursery & enjoy it and enjoy my pregnancy
:)
Wishing u a healthy pregnancy regardless of what u to decide to do xxx

Congrats to you!

I did almost all of my running with either one or both of the kids in a jogging stroller. I was SO over it and so were my kids so I am just SO thankful it only took two months to get pg (been doing the exercise for 3 months).

My plan is to find out the gender but to tell everyone (minus a few close friends I'm sure) that we are not finding out, no matter the gender. I hated all the comments when I was pg with DS2 and I realized I will also hate any "oh thank goodness you got a girl!" comments too. But I need to know and have time to get excited about a third boy if that's who is joining our family! And if my MIL dares to say she wanted a girl while holding DS3 in her arms like she did when we told her at 20weeks with DS2 then I might actually punch her ;)

I plan to say something like, "we will be surprised but I'm sure it's another boy, can't wait to have 3 of a kind!"

I'm sure I'll still get dumb comments, people are the worst.

I don't know why but I am dreading the comments and want to be prepared with a snappy answer to 'shut them up' and/or make them feel bad for making it! But then I'm pretty sure I've asked pregnant women about the sex of their baby and certainly said some kind of misguided comment when I've only meant well...so I need to perhaps chill out about it. Good call finding out the sex and keeping it quiet. I would have to keep it quiet from my husband though as he is the worst secret keeper in the world, bless him but he's incapable of not telling people things. Fortunately I work as a Radiographer (Rad tech in USA, I'm in the UK) and can get my sonographer mates to scan me at any point so I could do a sneaky scan at work and find out without DH knowing. Hard secret for me to keep from him though, and I guess what is the big deal really?! It seems to me that people really want you to acknowledge that you DO want a girl, especially other women. Well it's true, I do want a girl but it seems like I am being disloyal to my two gorgeous fabulous boys to admit it. I think that perhaps the answer to "do you want a girl?" could be "Yeah, that would be lovely" and leave it at that, with no "but". Everyone knows the "but" is that we can't (normally) choose these things and we get what we're given. I don't need to fill the silence afterward with platitudes but somehow I feel that I do - with comments such as "I wouldn't know what to do with a girl", or "I'm such a mother of boys". Tricky one.

Mother in laws are the worst! We will have to just prove them wrong Amyanne, bring on the pink ones for us...
