Was told boy, then girl, then boy, then girl. Opinions please!

Okay so I was scheduled an ultrasound by my doctor at 14 weeks and I asked the tech to make a gender guess and she said she's not sure but her guess would be boy. She showed us what looked like a penis and testicles and I was convinced because it did look like a boy.

Forward 12 days (today) I had an elective ultrasound at exactly 16 weeks and the lady took no time to announce girl. I told her "really? Because I was told boy a while ago and either way, I want to be sure. She was adamant it was a girl and then had me move around and said "Oh wait, That's a boy! That's not the umbilical cord. It could be a he." She then walked out and got another tech who came in and not even 10 seconds later said girl, typed girl, and rushed me outta there. (I went over the 15 mins I paid for)
I see the potty shot and it does look like a girl to me? But I also know it looked like a boy at 14 weeks and not just swollen girl parts. What did she see that made her think boy?
If it's a girl why is the hamburger sign inverted and doesnt look like other girl potty shots?
Why couldn't they be sure! Ugh I'm so confused.

And the profile is from 12 days ago (14 weeks)

If that top picture was 16 weeks, there's no hints whatsoever of boy bits - girl all the way!

That's a girl. Both shots look girl to me.

Doctors are not good at guessing ultrasounds. They have seen a fraction of the ultrasounds as the techs who look at them all day, every day, and guess gender. I have seen MANY doctors make incorrect guesses on gender (and frankly I wish they wouldn't guess on them at all)

What I think happened is that the tech heard that someone else had said "boy" and she started to secondguess herself. This can happen to anybody, it's been demonstrated in studies that even experts will sometimes flub stuff up if they think someone else has a different opinion (even things like cancer screenings and blood tests - they are much more accurate if they do not know what others have already concluded) and I would actually trust her initial reaction far more than her second guessing herself. The second tech also had a girl impression right away.

Obviously with all this confusion you're not going to be wanting to paint the nursery just yet but I would feel pretty confident that you're carrying a girl.

oh sorry I read that as "ultrasound by my doctor".

Still, the pics look girl to me. both of them do.

I would guess girl too but TBH I don't see any girl bits (or boy bits for that matter). It's possible that the potty shot is a bit high up. If these were mine I'd want another scan before painting the nursery pink. Good luck xx

That was my initial though aswell. I don't see a penis, but I also don't see girl parts.

My question to the experts is, what angle is the potty shot taken from if you can tell and guess for me?
The position of the left leg looks like the photo was taken from under the butt.
The right leg makes it seem like the photo was taken from above. ( I imagine someone sitting on a chair with their legs oven and I stand up and take a photo of between their legs from ontop of their head)
I don't know if that makes sense but I hope I'm translating my thoughts well. Thanks for your responses and opinion. I would just like a little more insight on the position of the photo if anyone knows.

It doesn't work like that. It isn't taken from above or below. It's like a slice through.

yeah unfortunately that's not something we can say because ultrasounds are not like photos really. :)
