View Full Version : What are my chances for pink?

I'm scared. I feel bad to say that but I'm a little terrified of boy #3. That said, I really want a baby. I've had a chemical and a miscarriage and on top of that it takes me a while to concieve. At this point I just want a sticky, healthy bean.
So. I've unfortunately had to drop most of my swaying "stuff". Well, I guess I didn't have to, but I'm tired of not getting pregnant. So, I dropped the gels/lubes such as Aci-Jel, Rephresh, and Sylk. I did get pregnant with Sylk actually, but I miscarried so it carries that stigma for me, now. Dumb I know, but it is what it is. So, I'm afraid to use it!
We've done nothing in regards to timing this month. Just BD'ed a couple of times when I got a + OPK. Used my own natural lube (sorry TMI).
Here's what I've done:
-Zyrtec every night (I've actually been on it for 5 years now for allergies)
-Lots of Coke and some Diet Coke (when I can stomach it, I go for like 1 a day)
-Other aspartame products like sugar free Jello, etc.
-NO prenatal, just folic
-Rice cakes, cheese out the ying yang (I know it's bad for a pink sway but I'm addicted), salads, raspberries with Equal, crap like Taco Bell LOL
-I have a neg ion air filter that runs in our room but no other ion products
-Too much salty stuff :(
The only thing that gives me hope is that this is different than what I did with my boys. With them I was taking a prenatal for months leading up to conception and I also never ate/drank diet products. Used Preseed for second boy.
So, I don't know. I feel like my chances are low for pink. Kinda feelings bummed about it. I don't know what else to do, though. I feel so sad since the last m/c, i just want to be pregnant again. Maybe I should keep swaying even though it will take longer but I'm getting so impatient. My first chemical was due Oct. 2009 and here it is Aug 2011 and still no baby, no pregnancy, nothing...
Thanks ladies...

i dont know about your chances, but i do know how you feel,
i was terrified about boy number 4, but i had an ectopic pregnancy a few months before getting pregnant with him, and it kind of put things in perspective for me, yes i was upset about having another boy, but in only lasted a week or so, then my focus changed to the fact that he was alive and perfectly healthy.
good luck, i hope you get a pink sticky bean...

Huni, don't worry, you have excellent chances :agree:
Coke is excellent for pink and so is Zyrtec. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend skipping brekkie and that's the general consensus here :agree:
Do I need to say I wasn't swaying for my girls, just had a girlie life style lol!
That being said, I never used Sylk (I don't know what it is in the 1st place lol!), Aci-Jel, RepHresh etc.
Stick to Coke, no breakfast and no excercise, avoid meat and (if you can) don't put salt on anything. This is how I got my girls :)
I totally understand the part of just wanting a healthy, sticky bean....I've been swaying for over a year (skipped few months here and there ) without ANY results, just complete failure...I want to be pg already and I want the same for you too! If you get a :xy: and I get a :XX: we can switch them

Hugs. A loss makes it all so much harder and makes it almost impossible to be "patient". I really hope your pink bundle finds you soon, it sounds like you are still doing a lot to sway.

Ok I am confused.... I have always been on the thin side and never really exercise. I eat terribly but never really gain any weight. I have three boys so with that said. Should I assume that I need to lose a little more weight, eat less, exercise alot to sway pink. Or exercise alot and but eat more????

The problem is, that you can do all these things that sway and still have opposites because it's not any magic property of these things that makes you have a baby of a particular gender, it's what happens in your body as a result of doing those things. So if you do everything in your power to sway and yet your body is still "doing the boy thing", you're going to remain more likely to conceive boys. Eating a lot (and even a lot of junk) and not gaining weight is VERY common among the moms with all boys. Check out this link too, you might find it interesting - several of the boy-moms describe their diets.

Your best bet at pink is to lose a little more weight if you can and switch to a lower protein, lower cal, more carb based diet, vegetarian if at all possible. Don't eat more, regardless of anything you do when swaying pink, eating more is never a good idea. Here is the link that explains how exercise works with swaying - please read it, it will really help you understand how BOTH a lot of exercise and no exercise, when coupled with weight loss, can sway pink. You have to decide on the basis of your lifestyle, what is going to work the best for you with exercise.

I don't think it's about actual weight that you are - it's about the change in weight relative to what you were. I'm naturally slim and have always hovered around the same weight rarely gaining/losing much no matter what I eat. I have a boy, but then I also had a very blue diet without knowing it and always tried to eat a good variety of nutrients.
A slim person isn't more likely to have a girl than an overweight one. If the overweight lady is dieting and losing weight, and the slim person is getting even healthier/is healthy the overweight lady is probably more likely to sway pink because her body will think "Times are hard - I'm not getting as much to eat any more" and that sways pink.
Personally I'm losing as much as I can without going underweight (that was 10lbs before my diet), so losing it slowly and hoping that my weight loss will naturally plateau when I've lost a little more.
