Last minute confusion!! What do I do?

Hello :)

My CBEM reached high this morning and I had lots of EWCM late yesterday. Which is odd with clomid!!

Ok... do I now try to get rid of the EWCM or let it be? It may stick around through ovulation or it may go away... I am not sure since this is my first cycle on clomid.

Also, I should get a positive opk anytime from today through the next 3 days I am guessing. We will be DTD through ovulation. So, when we DTD tonight does dh wear a condom?? Sorry if this is TMI!! I am confused as to when we start not using one... eek...

ETA: We have been dtd nightly only for two nights now... should we do two releases a day (the second 8 hours after the first, right?? oh... and it has to be DTD release as my DH won't do it any other way..ugh!) from here on out?? Or just the day of the positive OPK and the day of ovulation???

ETA 9/7 ~ no ewcm since the one time I saw so much...????

I'm no expert when it comes to Clomid and whether taking antihistamines will interact with it but that could clear up some EWCM if you want. If you think you'll get a + opk in the next three days then that could mean you will O in the next 3-5 days. If you're doing frequent release and DTD through O then it probably woudn't matter if he wears a condom or not tonight. Someone else might correct me if I'm wrong??!?! Good luck!

Thank you :) I do think that I will ovulate soon. :) At least I am hoping so! :) I am sooo nervous for my first attempt! lol

The ewcm is crazy! I have never seen such great ewcm before! I am not sure if it will stick around or not until ovulation.... I am worried about doing too much and not getting pregnant...

I'm no expert on Clomid either but I would guess if you're taking the approach that you just want to get pregnant asap and off the Clomid then you wouldn't use the antihistimine. I don't know if you have/would consider using a little Sylk if you still have lots of EWCM - or whether that's a no-no with Clomid?

The timing thing is up to you! You could DTD every night without a condom or with a condom and have one or two attempts when you get your +OPK. If you're worried you haven't DTD enough you could release twice on the day of your attempt/s and use the second batch - but again, I don't know if that's a good idea with the Clomid.

After reading a few of AS posts about clomid....I would do whatever you can to get pregnant this cycle. No antihistamines, or gels....just go for it(without condom) and DTD once or twice a day through O if you're worried about sperm count. Clomid sways pink and I would say that some EWCM is a very GOOD thing because it ups your chances of actually getting pregnant. If you've been on the diet for awhile....it sounds like you are GOOD TO GO!!!! xoxoxo Fingers crossed for you!!!

Hi Zanacal! :) Thank you for your response!! :) I was worried about the ph level if we do not use a condom... is that a silly concern?? Is there a benefit to conceiving without a condom before I get a positive OPK?

I think if it is ok with clomid I do like the twice in one day thing for the actual attempt days. :)

Good ideas! :) I only have Sylk as I took back the rephresh after I was prescribed clomid.

I am definitely stuck on the once or twice a day thing....

Also, I was thinking maybe continuing to dtd the day after ovulation too... it couldn't hurt right??? Just to make sure??

Happyheart- I am on clomid too and 6 days before I O'd I recorded ewcm on my chart and some watery cm. Then around O time I got sooooo dry it wasn't funny. I have never ever been so dry especially around o time. I do think this is why I didn't fall pregnant this time. THEN after I had O'd I got lots of creamy cm. It does funny things to you clomid.

Lena ~ oh wow! This is my first cycle on clomid, I am on 50mg. Thank you so much for the very helpful post! I was starting to worry that I missed it! If I do not have any EWCM during our attempt I am going to use just a small amount of preseed.

Zana and DM have already answered this exactly as I would - when on Clomid, you need to get pg as quickly as possible and not play around with things like antihistamines, etc. I would go ahead and DTD even with the EWCM and just count on the Clomid to do the swaying. If you MUST, you could douche first with JUST distilled water to wash away the excess CM.

I would not worry about the condom/pH if I was on Clomid.

Sylk is better than RepHresh (with Clomid, that is) because it stops working right away.

Remember, the natural pH of both semen and EWCM is in the 7's. Most of the babies ever born on the face of the planet, of either gender, were to parents whose pH was in the 7's.
