I bought some vitex because a friend suggest it would help me. I looked into it and it seems like it could help me. My cycles are all over the place and I'm not sure if I'm even ovulating anymore. I didn't even think about it swaying one way or another. I'm ttc blue but I've come across that it can sway pink. Is this correct? Is there anything else I can take to help with these issues?

TIA

Vitex does seem to sway pink a little. But the real issue is that it may not help your problem. vitex can sometimes make things WAY WAY worse with fertility stuff so you have to be sure you're only taking it when you need it. It can help with one kind of fertility problem, but you may not even HAVE that problem, and could end up making yourself take even longer

Why do you think you're not ovulating?? Can you tell me more about what is going on with you??

I stopped taking bc last Jan and my cycles have been anywhere from 22 days to 38 days. But I don't feel I'm having a "normal" period. I was always regular 27-28 days and my period was 3-5 days with light to heavy flow. After my 2nd child I went on a progesterone-only pill and once my period return it was different than I was use to. Since being off it my period have barely been there, mostly spotting and a little flow and sometime only a day or two. Sometimes I spot brown for 3-4 before I get any real flow and I really don't need to use anything it's so light. If I wasn't ttc I would probably wouldn't even notice half of the spotting because it so little but since I'm looking I notice it. Last Dec my Dr checked my thyroid and I guess everything was normal. When I see her next month I will talk to her again. I'm just hoping I'm not perimenopausal, I'm 37. I've tried temping to see if I'm ovulating but with my kids horrible sleeping schedule, I only get a couple hrs of sleep at a time. So a friend suggested vitex to regulate my cycle and to help if I wasn't actually ovulating.

I think vitex would be throwing gas on a fire for you. It causes spotting and super light periods.

Everyone is perimenopausal at 37. That's ok. You can still get pregnant even in perimenopause.

GEtting your period regularly does indicate you are ovulating. 22-38 day cycles are not out of the norm. Anything from 21-35 days is considered a normal cycle and 38 days is not much beyond that.

I think you're messed up still from coming off the BCP and your doctor may recommend medication to help you conceive at this point. But please don't start taking a bunch of herbs becuase it's only going to make things worse.

Thank you, I will hold off on taking anything at this point and see what my dr says. It never crossed my mind that it could be from bc because the first time I stopped it, I had no issues but that was 6yrs ago and a different type of bc.

Yes studies have shown that it's very common to see changes in menstrual cycle for even as long as 12-18 months after coming off BCP I don't have the numbers in front of me right now but something like only 57% of ladies coming off birth control had regular cycles right away.
