Hi girls, I am gearing up to ttc next month and have my head around most things I think. I know I can't take saw palmetto due to breastfeeding so I was planning on doing peppermint tea instead until I read that it may raise estrogen levels? Is it still recommended for a girl sway when you can't take SP?

Thank you!

No pep tea when breastfeeding (people can have a cup here and there, but NOT the medicinal amounts for swaying). Neither SP nor pep tea are safe when nursing as they can come through your milk and mess with your baby's hormones in ways we do not want.

Please don't worry about leaving them out, they aren't getting the job done anyway and we are finding breastfeeding is probably a better pink sway than either of them are anyway. :)

Oh thank you so much for the reply! Much appreciated.

Another quick question I have is that my AF still hasn't returned due to feeding (ds is 18 months) and I'm keen to try vitex to bring it on but am unsure what dose to use without it compromising my supply?

The way that we've found effective is to take vitex in 2w on, rest of cycle off pattern that corresponds to waht your cycle was BEFORE you got pregnant. For reasons we don't understand, the menstrual cycle tends to come back in about the same time of the month that it was happening before you got pregnant. (not always, but very often)

So, if you were getting your period on the 1st of the month, you'd take vitex from the 1st thru the 14th and then stop taking it for 14 days. Then take it for another 14 days, take 14 days off. keep doing that till something happens (or until 6 months has passed - longer than 6 months and vitex may start to act like a birth control pill and by that point it should have worked to kickstart O anyway so either it has worked or it's not going to)
