UPDATE: had an elective scan and while baby wouldn't open legs for a clear shot, tech said boy!

I had my anatomy scan done at 20w5d but we had the gender sealed so we could do a reveal with our family. This is the only picture that we received, and it just doesnt look very boyish to me! I know techs are rarely wrong, but I'm really doubting this is 100% boy! What do you think????

I'm no expert but it looks a bit too pronounced to be girl bits. It is not a classic boy shot though.

If the tech knew you wanted a good potty shot, WHY would they give you this?? It really looks too big to be girl parts and I am GUESSING that that is the penis and it looks like labia in this shot....I cannot imagine the tech getting it wrong at 20 weeks but he/she could have given you a shot of ALL the boy parts instead of this.

My 20 wk scans for my boys had obvious boys bits that were easily distinguished. Not sure why they would give you this either maybe just a bad shot

I agree that's about as clear as mud! I'm sorry I don't have any advice other than that the techs have USUALLY been right, and I agree it doesn't look girl either, but we've had some exceptions.

Thanks for the guesses! On another forum I recieved ALL girl guesses... Anyone else have a guess?

I would get another scan. If you showed your doctor this picture and told him/her that you were told it is a boy, I bet they would offer to scan you! It could definitely be a girl. Was the tech experienced?

It was at a military facility, and in my experience they have been hit or miss. She was a bit distracted by people coming in to speak to her about other matters and was quick about the gender portion because we wanted it kept in an envelope until later and she wanted to be sure my husband, nearly 5 year old and myself didn't see accidentally. Still, it's hard to imagine she was wrong, but I've been struggling to find another boy or girl gender shot that looks like this!

I would go to an elective place and have another scan. If you would have posted this and simply asked what it is, I think you would have gotten all girl guesses.

Do you have any pictures from 12-13 weeks that we can have a look at to see if their is any obviuos nub to back it up either way :)

Sadly I don't have one from that gestation, this one is 10w, and the military doctors insist on only giving these "gummy bear" shots as they call them. 29211

UPDATE: I had an elective scan done, and while baby kept its legs closed and the tech couldn't get a good clear shot, she said Boy!
