DH Age:
34
Current Children's Gender(s)

Number of Months TTC
6-9
Did you purchase and follow a GD Personalized Plan?
Yes
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? LE(Low Everything)

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
After going hard on the LE diet the first few months of trying I eased up considerable towards the end after losing too much weight and struggling to keep up the momentum. In the end I was only really concentrating on skipping breakfast and eating lunch early at 12pm, no snacking and avoiding red meat.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
Hard core for 3 months and more loosely for the remaining time until pregnant
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
Did not change diet, maybe ate less red meat due to shared dinners.
DId you consume alcohol? Often- daily

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
I factored in a few white wines a day to my sway (this part came easily!). Where possible I choose vegetation options with empty calories and tried not to indulge too much. This was very different to when I conceived my son, I was eating extremely healthy, mainly salads and protein.
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
A day or so before O I had a Christmas party so the diet was not great, eating a lot at the party and the next day to cure my hangover..
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
21BMI
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I was not exercising regularly, however walk between 45-60 mins a day to and from work. We were also moving at the time of conception, so I was also extremely physically tired.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known
was not checking
Any VG potions used? Other

CM pH at attempt
unknown
DH pH
unknown
How many BD attempts did you make for the BFP cycle?
hopefully only 1 in the fertile window
BD Dates according to Ovulation 3 Days Before O

Any additional comments?
We used compressed frequent release after not getting pregnant with abstinence, the last few were protected or outside the body, with one final attempt at what I thought was 1-2 days before O. I was charting and pretty certain from this and my CM that O occurred 3 days later, I am surprised to be pregnant really. We also used a bit of KY after not getting pregnant with Sylk. I also had douched with a store bought vinegar one a few days before attempt, but not sure if it had any effect..
THE DEED INFO
DH Info about Swimmers Frequent Release

BD Position
Doggy style
Did you Jump and Dump? Yes

Any relevant attempt details?
The attempt I got pregnant from was doggie style with a shallow release. It was also very unromantic after so many attempts in the lead up (protected). We also had a hot bath each beforehand.
SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements folic acid
Fiber

DH Supplements Licorice Root
Cranberry
Sudafed

Any additional supplement info?
For the first 6 months of the sway I was taking vitex, but had recently run out and not replaced - maybe it was working against me? Hubby took sudafed about 2 hours before attempt.
Did you do anything with Ions?
I have a salt lamp, but not for swaying reasons, I just like the light it gives off :)
Moon Phase during conception?
Waning Gibbous
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
I know it's silly but I had a pink ribbon I had found and a wooden spoon under the bed!!
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
In the end I am just happy to be pregnant, I feel like the actual attempt was good, I was very surprised to have fallen pregnant at all with the swaying. I was not in a rush, but was thinking of dropping some elements of the say, so feel good about the fact I didn't have to in the end.
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
The diet!!! By the end I was not focussed on it at all with so much going on in my life and had a lot of slip ups. I overindulged being hangover right before O, but maybe this might work in my favour with the alcohol consumption and late night. (pls note I am definitely not drinking now pregnant!!).
Things worth mentioning:
I don't know if I am reading into things too much but I am feeling a lot sicker from 5 weeks on then I was with my son (hardly any MS). An early scan also but the foetus behind by 6 days, maybe confirming the later O.. my son was also always measuring slightly ahead. Either was it doesn't matter as it is in fates hands - I will wait until the birth to find out, where the most important thing for me is to welcome a happy and healthy child of either sex!

Just wanted to come back and update my sway, we did indeed have a little boy! We love him lots and he's been an amazing baby so far! I wasn't hugely surprised my sway was unsuccessful (I don't want to use the word failed!) as I had a million things going on in my life at the time of conception. At the end of the day I was happy to have another child no matter what and didnt enter this with the assumption it would only be a girl. We do want 3, but I will not sway again as it will definitely be my last, I will be looking at the HT route. BUT for now I am enjoying my newest snuggliest bundle as I know it will all go so quickly!!!

Congrats pinkcomestrue!! I wasn't surprised at all to have another boy and was so happy to meet him. He's so cute, I'm enjoying having a baby around and this way I definitely get my third baby. I will start looking into it too in a few months, I guess a lot will come down to how long I breastfeed for. my biggest fear is still spending the money and not being successful, but I guess that's how everyone feels going into this process! Keep me updated on what you decide to do!

Same here! Loving my baby so much so I'm not sure when I should start my HT journey, planning to breastfeed him for 6 months but I feel bad about it as I breastfed my first for 18 months, time is not on my side so I'm hoping if I get my DD soon then I'll try to feed him again..crazy idea I know!

I probably will go next April/May, if I stop BF around X'mas then hopefully period will return soon, but I never know when the period will come back..

One of my biggest fears also is spending fortune and not being successful too, as I can only afford 2 cycles, second biggest fear is the stress, I'm super scared of getting lots of unnecessary stress than enjoying my boys, I am afraid that I'll find myself selfish and just going for what I want.. But hopefully I can handle it and just love them the same as I do now.. :)

Keep me updated on you also, maybe we can be the cycle buddies!

I'm thinking the same, 6 months feeding, or up until Christmas time and then looking at going over in April/May next year. I'll breastfeed until he starts solids and I don't have to worry about sterilising bottles (is it from 6 months?) I also want to go back to work casually and get some independence back so 6 months will be plenty for me! Will you breastfeed them both if you are successful first go? It's not crazy at all, but he might be used to the bottle by then, my first son got used to the bottle and much preferred it in the end, which I was a little sad about!! He's still obsessed with them at 2.5!!!

I haven't fully looked into it yet, but I'm thinking of cycling and freezing and going back at the end of next year, mainly so I can do it while I am off work still and not as stressed. This will also allow me to go back to work for a while and save some more money which we might need if I need more than 1 cycle.. which knowing my luck we will!

Definitely sounds like we will be going through this together! The only thing that might change our plans is that there is talk of gender selection being allowed in Australia for the 3rd or more child. I highly doubt this will happen anytime soon, but at least it's some progress towards being able to go through this process at home. But for now, I will be planning our overseas trip!

Hi Brightsky,

Sorry for the late reply. Did you mean breastfeed both my boys? If so then my answer is no.. I tried putting my nipple close to my older boy's mouth and he was so disgusted, I said, I'm a big boy, not a baby!

Also I know the more I feed the later my period will return.. I'm thinking once he reaches 5 months, I'll start mixing formula, around 7 months I'll stop my breastfeeding totally and hopefully my period will return soon too..

I am not sure whether I should do fresh transfer or FET, I think I'll ask all the wise ladies here for advise, but I don't want to leave it for too long, my baby still easy to manage so I kind of want to asap in case my hobby changes his mind [emoji16]

Congratulations on your baby boy, brothers are great! I am pregnant with baby number 4 and our sways seem very similar, so I was really interested to read yours. I have girl, boy, boy and hoping for a girl this time. I never swayed before, this is my first attempt at swaying and last baby,
Ht is not an option for us, x o

Haha, sorry I meant bf the two younger ones! My 2 and a half year old looks at me like I'm crazy when I start feeding his brother, I try to tell him I did it for him too, but he doesn't understand! Sounds like a similar plan when it comes to the feeding, I might even start a night time bottle soon to help settle him before bed, I did this with my first and it worked a treat!

I'm the same too, I'd much rather travel with a younger less mobile baby than a toddler and my older son will be well over 3 by then. The reason for the FET is also that I'm a little scared about having three so close together, I'm finding two hard enough, however it's still only early days for us. I am liking the thought of them playing more and entertaining each other as they get older though.

I haven't really started looking into the process too much yet.. I almost feel like I'm 'cheating' on my newborn.

Good luck Girlieplease! And I honestly think a lot does come down to luck, I've read some really strong sways end in opposites and some lighter ones be successful. Hope u do get a sister for your daughter and if not like u say brothers are great! X

My boys are very close and super cute together, atomic says boys are like shoes they should come in pairs I love that. Enjoy the new baby stage and good luck with your future plans. I agree with you that there is so much luck involved so we will see, it is all decided now anyway, x

I love that too!! I am glad they are close, that's nice to hear, I've been a bit worried about fighting, but I guess that's any sibling relationship really!

pinkcomestrue it's nice to know something is going through the same thing :) And we should be very proud, no one tells you how hard it really is, I've been struggling with the lack of sleep and keeping up with a very active toddler!
I really love the baby stage, but the constant feeding is getting me down too, hopefully the feeds space out soon and I get more time.

I really hope Im a OHW too!!!!! 2-3 cycles would be my max, Im going back to work so really need to save some extra $$ If we were successful there are other things we would need, like a new car to fit all these kiddies!!
Would you consider swaying again if it didn't work out? I still fantasize about going to that ultrasound and being told it's a girl

Haha.. I hear you! I also have a super active toddler too, I can't complaint much as he is a very good sleeper! :)

I don't think I'll try to sway again, I did, I thought I did a very good one for 4-6 months and I failed, I would super love to hear from the ultrasound "it's a girl" but I don't think I can handle "it's a boy" again.. I love my boys but 2 is maximum for me and to be honest, my ideal world is a boy and a girl, and I still get jealous seeing people with one of each..

I went to a playgroup the other day, 2 moms whom also have a new born(a girl after a boy of course, both of them) they came to me and asked "is she or is he" I goes "he", one of them went "oh that's nice, the other one went "oof, 2 boys, it's gonna be hardcore" i only replied "well, it will save me some money to go to the gym" but I instantly felt offended and upset, the worst thing is, after they discovered that I have 2 boys, they just kind of walked away from me [emoji33]

So no matter how much I love my boys, I still super desire to have a little girl in my life.. And knowing that I don't have her yet makes me sad sometimes..

What about you? I guess you will try to sway after 2-3 cycles? And if I remember it right, you are about 34/35? I'll be 37 next year, so time is not on my side :(

PS, my English is not so good, I hope you understand me and I have lots to learn about the HT journey..

We really are twins on opposite sides of the globe! I love my boys more than anything but I get super jealous and a bit sad seeing ppl get a girl after a boy, which seems to be everyone around me at the moment :( I always though I would have a girl first, then maybe a boy, I wouldn't have cared what the second was. But u can't plan these things! Luckily there are also plenty with just boys so that helps.

Those woman at your playgroup seem really rude.. Like my hubby says a boy and then girl is boring, who wants that! (He's just trying to make me feel better bless him!) I hate that cliche about boys being a handful, what about teenage girls?? I had an older brother and tell u the truth we fought a lot and are not particularly close now. I like to think that my boys will be very close.

I don't think I will sway again either, I couldn't hear boy at the ultrasound again, I love my boys but 3 is definitely our limit. Yep, I'll be 35 next year and feeling the same about my age, but I don't think it's too old for either of us, I still want to get started sooner rather than later!

Ps your English is great ! Totally understand u!

Yes, sooner the better for me too, i think I'm kinda forgetting how painful the labour was and I am pretty ready for the third, I kept thinking everyday how we can manager 3 kids when we go out, like going from places to places, I have this thing in my head that "ok, I'll hold the eldest one and carry the baby and my DH will hold the middle one".. Quite scary in a way but I start feeling excited about it!

Yes! I keep thinking the exact same thing, how will we manage with 3 out and about! I guessing my oldest will be walking confidently without a pram by then and the younger 2 in a double. I also worry about them out numbering us, at the moment I can handle the baby and hubby my oldest.. and dividing my attention between 3.. so much to think about really!!!! I'm already getting the 'are you going to try for girl' comments when I tell ppl I have 2 boys.. it's already driving my crazy :(
