Hi,
Our first attempt will be in around 4 weeks and I am trying to finalise the sway. I am going all out on the diet, plus cardio daily and DH is taking cranberry and LR. We have both been veggie for the last two months. The one thing I can't work out is TIMING!! Initially we had been going to go for one attempt, one day before ovulation. I had been pretty consistent in ovulating on CD14 until I started taking the Vitex but last month it was CD11 and this month seems different again. So my question is, do you think two attempts 3 or 4 days apart would affect the sway? What is the theory behind only one attempt having abstained? My first DS arrived after daily BD-ing through ov, whereas DS2 was a complete surprise, one attempt (jump and dump) on what turned out to be just a few hours before ovulation (I get a pain).

Sorry if this is a bit waffly! I am keen to conceive quickly - next month would be ideal because if it's March, the due date will be on or around my DS's birthday (not ideal - he'll not like that!) and the following month would give a due date of Christmas Day (also not ideal!)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I don't worry about theories, I worry about results. (because we honestly DON'T KNOW how a lot of this stuff even works) Abstain has gotten disappointing results and so it's not worth the effort to keep it in the mix.

With an irregular cycle what you can do is either take OPK and then just have attempt on day of positive OPK (and you can do this with abstain) OR you can BD every 4 days. This puts you in with one attempt in the fertile window pretty effortlessly. Since you're in a hurry to get pregnant (and going off O pain is never reliable, I understand you think it's working for you and it very well may be, but you can get O pain before, during and after ovulation, and swaying can change this even if you've had a certain pattern every month of your life) I'd recommend the e4d plan. It's been getting very good results for us as well!

Great - thanks for your replies! I think we will do that. Especially since abstain hasn't been getting great results, plus our second son was conceived in that way.
