What's everyone doing with their coffee?
White ? Black?
Sugar ? Sweetener ? Nothing?
Or does it not really matter ?

I see a lot of girl mums drink coffee on the thread but does it matter what type?
Xx

I drink mine black so it's basically calorie free. Can't live without my morning coffee. ;) I think I've read on here other girl moms and pink swayers drinking theirs with a little creamer or sugar/sugar substitute.

I usually take caffeine pills bc I'm lazy and I also can only drink coffee with a fair bit of whole milk (1/4-1/3 of total volume). Black coffee is too harsh on my stomach, makes me nauseated, I also don't like the taste of it black. Sometimes I can drink high quality espresso with 2 teaspoons sugar...but never straight. So if I have coffee it's with meals. Then I can have a vanilla latte or whatever I want!

Honestly I don't consume caffeine too frequently bc I build a tolerance to it so quickly that after a few days in a row it no longer stimulates me, instead it puts me to sleep! I'm already sleepy enough from my meds and pain, so I really hate that.

I'm drinking coffee with creamer and splenda. I usually have 2 cups a day. One in the morning and 1 mid afternoon to curb my hunger.

I always drank coffee with non-dairy creamer. I switched over to half and half at some point but I always drank coffee when I TTC my girls.

Dumb question alert:
I'm assuming this is caffeinated coffee for everyone right? That the caffeine is important for TTC Girl and decaf defeats the purpose...

At the a moment I think atomic is saying she's not sure if it is actually the coffee or the caffeine that's working but something is going in the right direction!

Thank u NbP! I tend to have it about 10am to keep me going until lunch xx

I had my coffee with milk or cream and sugar. Technically the sugar in the morning coffee is a cheat, but I wasn't willing to give that up.

Officially, you are supposed to have only unsweetened or artificial sweeteners in the morning.

I always drank caffeine when I was pregnant. I personally think 1-2 cups a day is fine.

If you're trying to avoid caffeine, Exedrin actually HAS caffeine, some people don't realize that.

Yes i knew excedrin had caffeine...i was implying in order to get over that first doozy of a caffeine withdrawal headache i personally would reach for excedrin because it actually does start working within 15min for me and headaches are the one ache this momma does not mess around with ;) :laugh so hard i cry emoticon:

Also, yes i early on with last pg drank caffeine but then a friend i knew who avoided it with her first but drank it with her second was telling me there was a demeanor difference in her kiddos, the uncaf boy was easygoing and the caf boy was high strung....she skeered me into decaf :another laughing so hard i cry emoticon:

Diet pop doesn't have much caff in it.

Please keep in mind, it may not even BE caffeine. It may be something in the coffee itself.

When in doubt, do what is working for others and don't assume that we know what that is. Coffee is getting results. I can't sign off on anything else, especially tea. I got 4 boys with tea and pop, my daughter with coffee

I gave up caffeine before conceiving DS1 because I wasn't getting pregnant after several months of trying so I thought it was worth a shot and I didn't have any while pregnant. With DS2, I allowed myself to have one cup of coffee per day if I needed it. DS1 is WAY more hyper/crazy/wild then DS2 who is my laid-back, chill little dude. Personally I really don't think there's any connection between caffeine and a child's temperament/personality. I totally understand though if you want to avoid it!

What about Coffee with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk....
How is the almond milk different than milk in terms of glucose? The stuff I'm putting in has 30 cal, 2.5g fat, 1g carb (0 sugar) and 1g protein per CUP....and I'm probably putting in 1/4 cup between a few cups total.

I'm assuming this is fine, just curious how the Almond Milk is different than Cows Milk/Cream in terms of a girl sway.

I too drank caff with DS1, and he is an emotionally charged person! On the go and needs less sleep than a normal person should, haha! I drank no caff with DS2, and he is chill and sleeps well!

Not sure if there is anything to it, but I don't drink caffeinated beverages since I had DS1.

Mine are the opposite- I was so careful about my caffeine intake with DS1, almost never had any, and he's so hyper and always go,go,go. He even talks in his sleep.
DS2 I was working, going to school, and raising a toddler, so I was living on Mountain Dew and sweet tea, and he is just the most chill kid, naps like a champ and never gets wound up. If history repeats itself, this baby is going to be a wind up clock, since I'm exhausted all the time from keeping up with the boys and may as well be main lining caffeine haha.

The small amount in coffee doesn't make much diff. either way. Have what you like best.

Those on PCOS or alt. diets for egg quality will want to keep the almond milk minimal because its really high carb compared to dairy.
