View Full Version : Swaying for a girl in May/June

Hi everyone!
So, I've been googling my butt off researching gender swaying. I ended up on IG first, but their diet seemed impossible for me as I am lactose intolerant. I ended up here, and the past few days I've been heavily reading through girl sways that others have posted. There is an abundance of info here so first of all I just applaud all of you for your diligence, support, and research. I feel like in regards to swaying, gender dreaming sits better with my gut than IG did. But, I'm still a little bit confused as to where I should start. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to increase my chances of giving my son a littl sister. My husband is on board as well. The past couple of days I think I've decided I may not believe in timing or high calcium/magnesium... So I can include a low everything diet, ions, hormones, and any supplements that are actually conducive to the sway. (Vitex? Saw palmetto?) anyway, I am open to any and all suggestions and/or criticism. My goal is to really set a good plan for myself now so when I begin following that plan, I don't have to overly stress or micromanage anything. I look forward to being a part of such a cool support system. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am also going to be swaying May/June!!
I am planning and getting the hang of it now and hopefully I will be able to be good at the diet and plan come March.
I'm still undecided on the hour of aerobic exercise.
Good luck to everyone!

I'd recommend ordering a personal plan. You don't NEED one because you can get all the info if you spend enough time on the site, but I liked having everything laid out just for me on a few pages. Good luck!

2ODellboys, awesome! Will you start everything (diet, etc.) in May? Or will you start that now and start trying to conceive in May? I was thinking of starting my sway in March so I can try to get pregnant hopefully by the start of summer. Good luck to you as well!

Hi Katie! Welcome! I am also lactose intolerant and got my girl with barely any dairy after 4 boys with tons of dairy and/or cal/mag supplements.
Just ask whatever q's you have and will try to answer to the best of my ability.
12 weeks or more on LE Diet (not IG type diets, which I agree are impossible to stick with) is getting best results.

Thank you Ocean! I try to help everyone regardless of ability to pay, but the Custom/personalized plans do enable me to do this as a job instead of having to go back to work.

Atomic, you seem like such a selfless person. That's so nice of you to do your best to reach out to everyone who comes to this site. I ran across a part of this page that talked about breastfeeding and swaying and that it can either help or hurt your sway. I was thinking in my case, it might help. I'm not really sure what to do--I'm on the fence. My son will be a year old one week from Friday, so I reached my one year nursing goal... but I would be happy to continue if he is still happy nursing. I know that some of the supplements are not ok to take while nursing, which is fine, of course I wouldn't ever risk his health. But I do see that vitex is ok? I was going to start that soon anyway because my cycles have not returned and I think it would help. (Unless I'm wrong, do you have experience with that?) With me, I have lost SO much weight and muslce mass from breastfeeding alone even though I haven't really been exercising. I know this is good for swaying pink. I'm not sure if it would be the best to do heavy exercise because I think I'm already struggling to meet my daily caloric needs that have increased with nursing (hence why I've lost all this muscle and weight). So I guess my question is, should I just continue the way I am going with the addition of vitex to help bring my cycles back? I am not yet in a rush to conceive, as I said we'd like to conceive in Juneish (in a perfect world, if it even happens right away!) SO if the vitex doesn't bring my period back, I could always just wean a little later. I don't know. I'm on the fence about which route I should go. Wean after his first birthday and do a heavy sway, or keep nursing and maybe cut a few more calories? Thank you so much again for chiming in so quickly. You're the best!

I actually think breastfeeding only helps a pink sway, it's just that it's hard to see it sometimes in the statistics, because the types of ladies who keep breastfeeding long enough to actually want to TTC while doing so, may be coming in more set for boys than the average person (because really it's only a tiny minority of us who want to TTC while nursing). If you are still enjoying your nursing relationship I suggest you continue.
The supps that you can't use when breastfeeding don't work anyway (or at least nowhere near as well as breastfeeding) so I'd just let those go and keep nursing as long as you're still enjoying it.
Exercise is a strong pink sway tactic, though, and it is appearing that it's actually better to exercise and up cals to compensate rather than dropping cals and not exercising. But do what feels right and doable to you - I got my girl without exercising (and with breastfeeding)
REsults with the Vitex for restoring cycles have been all over the map. I took it twice and I felt like it helped me the first time to restore my cycle when nursing, but I got a boy that time. The second time, my cycle was already back when nursing (mostly) and it seemed to delay O unless I stopped it a few days before, like CD 11-12 and then I'd O on CD 14ish. But I couldn't seem to get pregnant while taking it and this seemed to happen to several others using vitex so I dropped it and got pregnant with my girl the very next month. If you do want to try and use V to restore cycles when nursing, you should go back and look at waht your cycle was before you got pregnant and then try and take it to correspond with your cycle then. I know it's weird but your cycle will often come back at the exact same time of month it was prior to your first conception. So you'd take 400/800 mg from CD 1 thru CD 14 of the days that correspond to your cycle before you got preggo, then take the rest of the month off, then the next month do it again, until eventually it should either help or it won't and then if that's the case, we have to resort to Vitamin P - "patience".

Okay, that all makes total sense. I think I will just continue nursing, then. I am still happy doing it, and I don't think he is really ready to wean yet, anyway. Plus I have been feeling a little weepy as his first birthday gets closer. They're only little for so long, so this time is pretty precious.
And with the exercise. We have an elliptical. I could easily spend 60 minutes a day on that. I would only worry that it might make me build muscle in my butt/legs? Maybe not if I don't do an incline. And does the cardio have to be really high intensity? Or just a lot of it (like the 60 minutes a day 6 days a week?) Would walking suffice for 60 minutes? Or should I be like running? I was a little confused on that one.
And with my cycles... I don't know, I'm weird. When I was younger, I was pretty regular. Then I went on birth control for about 5 years, and I feel like it just really messed me up. I went off the pill about a year or so before I got pregnant. My cycles were anywhere from 28-44 days. I actually took vitex to attempt to regulate my cycles, but I was sort of lazy about it and it wasn't super consistent. Could that have swayed blue for me? Do you know if that's possible? I know it could just have been a coincidence, and I was probably unintentionally doing some boy swaying things. Anyway though, I did keep track of my cycles at the time, so I can try to match what they were maybe? haha.
AND again, thank you for all of your input. This website has taken off a lot of pressure I thought was on me, but really isn't. And for pink... it seems the less pressure, the better!

Re: exercise, it is very difficult for women to build muscle even under optimal conditions. On the LE diet, which is low in protein, it's basically impossible. What's important is exercising for at least 60 minutes uninterrupted daily; it does NOT need to be particularly intense, and I would avoid strength building exercise, maybe not do more than a slight incline on the elliptical. Walking is fine, so is jogging or running. Whatever you enjoy.
I absolutely do not think it's possible that taking Vitex intermittently sways blue. Vitex isn't a very strong sway factor and if it sways significantly it sways pink, regardless of how often it is taken. Most likely your diet, lifestyle, and natural high fertility got you a boy.
Good luck with your sway and brava for pursuing a VBAC!

:agree: I still have regrets being pressured into weaning my 2nd son. He still seemed to need it, I wish I'd have kept it up even when my husband was thinking I should quit. :/
There is just no way to build muscle if you're doing diet. It's really tough even when eating 3000 cals a day and lots of protein. PLUS, aside from that, we don't even KNOW that building muscle sways anyway. that was just a theory. What we KNOW is that exercise works, and many have used ellipticals. It doen'st need to be high intensity, the word intense was just meaning "more than what is classed as moderate exercise". I was referring to amount and not actual perceived level of intensity of workout. Walking is fine.
That isn't weird or unusual at all to have that happen after being on the pill. Taking vitex off and on, I do not think could have possibly swayed blue for you at all and that is not really how it works anyway - it NEVER comes back to one thing like that. Matching cycles is just one way to do it, you don't have to do it that way at all, you could also try taking it to correspond with whenever you want your cycle to come back, like if maybe you wanted to try encorporating moon phase into exercise, you could take it to correspond with Oing on a new moon (but don't be too uptight if it doesn't work out!)

In the forum posts it's usually best NOT to bump unless you're sure I haven't seen it (like it's been a week or I answered everyone else's questions) becuase I answer from oldest to newest and do occasionally have day(s) when I can't get through all posts. When you bump it too fast, you just put it further away from me because I do the oldest posts first. :) (it's totally up to you, just that I'd have got to this faster without the bump in this case)

Hello again everyone, so I have a few more questions and wanted to update my situation. For the past few weeks, my husband and I have seriously been discussing high tech gender selection, but after much research and debating, we both agree that it just is not financially really in the cards for us. But after having this discussion, we both feel that we want to do everything that we can on our own to sway for a little girl. We both think it's probably a good idea to purchase one of the personalized plans on here, so each of us can be sure we're 100% on board with our own parts in this. (There is SO much information, I'm sure I may have missed something!) So, I guess that's my first question... I'm a little confused about which one would be best for me.
Also, I was reading other forum posts and found one where you guys are discussing breastfeeding and swaying. maidentomother mentioned femara being best for nursing mothers. She also mentioned a legal overseas pharmacy where you can purchase a three month supply of these medications if your doctor isn't eager to prescribe them. My only reservations about the medications are the possibility to heighten the likelihood for twins. If twins happen, it happens. I just don't feel like it would be the most responsible thing in my case to encourage that, if that makes sense. Or is it not even that likely? I need to do more research on clomid and femara, I suppose. Plus, I don't know what my ovulation will be like once my cycle returns. As I type this, I'm battling some intense PMS symptoms, so I'm pretty sure this is my period coming back with a vengeance...

I personally don't recommend getting medication online but will always help anyone who chooses to do so.
Clomid does raise odds of twins 8-10%. I absolutely agree that twins sound cute but the data and our experiences indicate they do make for a much higher risk pregnancy and a lot of our twin stories do not have the happiest endings unfortunately. Femara is said to cause less twinning but to be totally honest I am not convinced that this is based on any actual data or just one of those things that doctors believe to be the case. So I'd be wary of either, but then again you can get twins anyway and most of the people who conceive on the meds end up having singletons.

Oh and in terms of the plan, you want the one that is marked "personalized" or "custom". (they are the same thing, I just can't remember what it says.) You buy it from the "membership and plans" blue button at the top of the page. :)

So, I am coming from the doctor and found that I am deficient in vitamin D. I read somewhere that you recommend taking what was recommended by a doctor for about a month, and from there, three times a week for maintenance? Do you still stand by that? She told me it was not a severe deficiency, so that's good. I just know it sways blue and don't want to overdo it.

I haven't officially started it, I just ordered a personalized plan so I'm waiting on that to jump into the LE diet full force. I've added some crystal light into my diet haha. And I've been skipping breakfast this week. Sort of easing myself into it. Have you been having an ok time with it? It is going to take some willpower for me because I'm a grazer/snacker who likes to eat several times a day more so than a big meal eater.

Ah, i need to convince my DH that i need the personalised plan!! First week went better than i thought. Skipping breakfast is actually ok, aslong as i can have a coffee or some cordial i can go till 12:30 sometimes 12:45pm and i look forward to my meal. I started out skipping breakfast and NO snacking but i was still pretty much eating the same lunch and dinners as normal - this is something im working on for a number of reasons i.e - calories, variety, nutrients etc.. im struggling to do the my fitness pal app - with the weights/cals so im taking my time here clearly! I have not had a breakfast in almost 3 weeks nor any snacks. And im the type of person who eats when and how i want - which means snacking in between meals and doing so at any time of day.. i would even snack on something just before eating dinner if i felt like it.. bad i know!! :worry: Unfortunately i have not lost any weight yet.. but im not rushing anything and want to feel comfortable with my sway. I need to let go slightly, i like to plan, be in control etc..

Atomic,
I hope my frequent questions are not annoying you by now. But I've got another for ya. I've tentatively started my LE diet, and plan to be more strict once I receive my plan, because then I feel like I'll have more guidance. I know you said there is no forbidden food on the diet, but I'm still eating a lot of white carbs and low... well, everything. So far, it isn't so bad. I am hungrier than usual because I've cut back on constant grazing/snacking, but it's fine. I'm getting the amount of calories from the nutshell version (1500-1800, but closer to 1500-1600), I'm getting about 50 grams of fat (too much since I'm eating less calories?) and about 40 grams of protein. These are all in the ranges you recommended, assuming that still stands. BUT I'm having a hard time staying under the sodium recommendations. I didn't realize how much sodium is in everything! Is this a huge deal or deal breaker? Again, I feel I can work better once the plan is ready and I have something to follow. And I'm ok with eating different foods. But I also know you guys are a bit different than IG, so maybe the sodium thing is not highly believed here? I'm not sure. I'm not going to let myself stress about it, but I also don't want to do something like eat too much sodium that could hurt my sway.
For reference, yesterday I had about 1422.5 mg of sodium, which is just above what is recommended. And today I've had about 1397.5 mg of sodium, but I haven't even had dinner yet, so it will have to factor that in, too. Also, is the two meal rule a really important and strict one? Is one snack or small meal in between ok? I've been eating lunch around 11:30 am- 12pm and dinner around 6:30-7:00 pm. I've been really good at not eating before lunch or after dinner. But I just get really hungry in between those two meals and cave and have a small snack. Should I alter my times maybe to make it easier? Or are 3 meals a day ok? I know I CAN do it where I just eat twice a day, I'll be fine, and I'll get enough calories. But I'm being easy on myself since I'm so early in my sway and I don't want to get burnt out really quick and fail when it's REALLY important, you know?

No not at all and remember you're a custom swayer I'd be answering your q's anyway. Your plan is done and sent in to be reformatted and posted in your sway forum (I don't do this part) so it should be to you very shortly.
The fat limitation has proved to be less important and if you're focusing mainly on vegetable fats, even at 50 g you can't go wrong. Don't eat a stick of butter or anything but 50 g is just dandy.
The sodium thing, most of us totally gave up on it. I keep it in the mix just because it IS possible to do but I do not believe in it, the data doesn't support it working anyway for a variety of reasons I"m happy to go over if you'd like, and it makes it WAY easier and more satisfying to stick with the diet. (I got my daughter eating tons of sodium after a failed sway with my 4th boy where I was limiting it)
There is no 2 meal rule. Both 2 and 3 meals are totally allowed. Skipping breakfast really just means pushing it back a while, or if you prefer you can have lunch, snack, dinner, or lunch, dinner, bedtime snack (this was what I did usually like 11ish, 4-6, and then before bed or I couldn't sleep hungry). Some people just can't eat that often. They want to do two. They digest more slowly or something. If you are like me and burn through a meal in 37 minutes you'd need to eat 3 because it's too hard with two. Do whatever works for you and it's also ok to do 2 sometimes and 3 others. This is a way of life not this strict recipe you have to get perfectly! :)

Hi ladies! I will be either starting to TTC in May or June. This is my second pink sway. My first brought us our beloved DS3 that is the 3rd love of my life [emoji4]! My DH is waffling still on #4, but he knows how much it means to me! We are going to get bids for adding onto our house to make room.
I've begun the diet and exercise, and I'm still breastfeeding DS3.
I'm an old hat to the LE diets and swaying so don't hesitate to ask or PM me!

xxforhubby - what did you try last time?
I became obsessed with swaying- trying to learn as much as I could and pouring over the posted sways and stats to ask Atomic about this and that. I became competitive with myself to see how strict I could be. This was my undoing.
In the beginning I was taking a low dose of choline and inositol that I was prescribed by a neurologist. In preparing for swaying and pregnancy, I researched these and found that in high doses inositol improves egg quality. So I did. Big mistake. After not getting a BFP for 5 cycles, I made an appointment because I felt something was off. Bloodwork was done and my FSH was 45, followed by 46 the next month with an AMH of less than 0.03 (essentially 0), and a miscarriage at 8 weeks. My follicle study showed I had 26 follicles. We scratched our heads. We did more research and the RE and I found that in women who do NOT have PCOS or diabetes, high doses of inositol can raise FSH and harm fertility. Bingo. We had our answer. I had to improve my fertility to get pregnant and in the end that put me too far into the blue zone and gave us our beloved DS3 [emoji4].
Don't fall into the same trap I did. I'm swaying now for a DD once again for my DH and it's second nature to me- a way of life. That was the point that I missed last time.
FX and GL to you!!

My advice is stick to what works, LE diet, exercise (if you can do it), one attempt, coffee, alcohol, fiber before high fatty meals (or stay low fat like me and not need it), and folate/folic acid. That's it. The rest is background noise.
You may need to track in the beginning. I suggest the myfitnesspal app. It stores your frequent meals so you don't have to add them one by one.

I just found this site today. I had come across and ebook that suggested this site if you want to sway for a girl. I have two beautiful boys already, but one has muscular dystrophy (something I didn't know I was carrying). So it is really important to me to try my best to sway for a girl, just to decrease that risk. I know looking back on my diet...I have always eaten high protein, high nutrient because I do my best to stick to an anti-inflammatory diet and to do a lot of weight lifting. So clearly, I have definitely been naturally swaying for boys. I've been a little concerned about what I've read outside of this site on swaying for girls...they imply you need to be somewhat unhealthy to sway for a girl and drink lots of stuff with artificial sweeteners like crystal light. I pretty much only drink water. I feel like this le diet is going to be a challenge for me because it goes against my natural state of being. So I am loving getting to know this site better.

Hi and welcome! First of all, the LE diet is NOT unhealthy at all. It is nothing like what is out there on other sites. It is a safe diet that includes the recommendations from the WHO on what constitutes as a healthy, prenatal diet. It is about eating the lower, safe amounts of protein and fat to be able to get pregnant. Some people like to eat a lot of the "free" foods or foods that are lower nutrient that don't count toward your fat, protein totals. However, keep in mind that there are no magic foods but foods that are more pink or blue friendly.
The recommendations are to eat 1500-1800 calories, more if you are nursing like me and exercising. 40-50g protein and 40-60g fat. The types of protein that are best are found in carbs and vegetarian sources instead of meat. Avoid red meat at together. I love MorningStar Farms veggie burgers! The types of fat that are best are high in Omega 6's and low in Omega 3's. Limit saturated fats and its best to avoid them if you can. I love cooking with Grapeseed oil because it's the highest in Omega 6's and has a high flash point (won't smoke at high temps). Carbs is best when they are not fortified with extra nutrients like breakfast cereals. While some like to eat "empty" carbs, I prefer to eat 20% of my carbs from empty sources like fruit candies, pastries, etc, and 80% from healthy sources like 1 cup cooked rotini pasta, vegetables, fruits, potatoes, rice, etc.
As you can see, it is NOT an unhealthy diet at all! Most of us use a calorie counter such as myfitnesspal. I love their app over their website as it has more features. I like that it keeps track of the meals you've eaten so you can select them easily. It also has a bar code scanner so you don't have to search for your food and guess which one it is.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions!! We are so glad you found us!!!

Oh and you can drink water! I can't drink beverages with artificial sweeteners. There are plenty of women on this site that got girls without drinking them! Coffee is good, and so is alcohol.

Hi and welcome LCB!
You have already looked into this I"m sure but would your insurance company cover PGD to prevent the MD? I mention this because swaying is not a guarantee, unfortunately, and the technology does exist to be sure your future child(ren) are not carriers of the gene and you can also select a girl as well.
There is more than one way to think of "healthy". Heart healthy and cancer preventative diets are actually NOT great for fertility. For swaying, we follow a diet that is much more in line with a heart healthy diet - lower fat, lower protein, lower cal, vegetarian or even vegan. The downside is that this can reduce fertility at the same time (our bodies like protein and fat and calories when it's time to TTC a baby). So point being, the LE Diet is NOT an unhealthy diet, it is actually based on the World Health Organization's recommendations for a healthy diet for women of childbearing age who may become pregnant, it's just at the lower level of that. People get confused when they hear "unhealthy" but all that really means is cutting back on fat and meat and calories (which is actually another definition of healthy!) WE are just trying to decline our fertility a LITTLE bit while still eating a normal, healthy intake of food.
You absolutely can do this using fruit, veg, whole grains, and so on. There is an alternate diet in this thread, 5 from the top, called "atomic fertility diet" which can be done using whole foods and very healthful eating choices. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html
No one needs to use artificial sweetener for a sway. I don't even think it works and have seen people (not on this site) getting BOYS using a scary amoutn of the stuff. I allow it in safe amounts for those who believe in it but it's not a prerequisite. I got my daughter without it after getting my 4th boy with it. Drinking water is fine for a pink sway, much better than those gallons of milk other sites require!!

I did call my insurance company and not only do they not cover it, they were so awful to me that I actually called their supervisors to complain. They told me I was trying to play god and were comparing me to Hitler and saying things like, "well now you're talking about blonde hair, blue eyes." Um, no...I'm talking about trying to have a healthy child. Ugh. It was so awful. They would cover the PGD, but not the IVF because I'm not infertile. And I really can't afford 20-30K to have another baby, when I already have 2.
I feel better after reading this because I was suffering from inflammation and at one point doctors were concerned I had an auto-immune disease. I have gotten so much better on an anti-inflammation diet...which is a lot of quinoa and veggies and mostly vegan lifestyle. So that's good to know.

Ugh I'm so sorry, I hope that person was fired. It doesn't even make sense because the cost of the PGD would be less than the cost of a lifetime of health care I'm sure. :/ Jerks

Hi all,
It's been awhile since I've been on this thread! Anyway, I'm not pregnant yet. I only just started actively trying to conceive. This will be my second month. I'm SO sick of this diet. I miss being the health nut that I once was, eating whenever I like. I really want to get pregnant this month. I've read this essay on orgasms, but ultimately, are opinions still all over the place? Does having one or not having one really sway either way? I'm thinking I may just allow myself one--like I said, I'd really like to wind up pregnant now! Also, I have a tilted uterus... Doesn't that hinder my chances of falling pregnant anyway?

Yes, opinions are all over the place on orgasms and there is no consensus about how they sway. I had one when I got my girl. I do see a trend where blue mamas are more "orgasmy" but there are tons of exceptions on both sides and even if true, that doesn't necessarily mean that orgasms sway blue, but could mean that a certain hormonal profile both makes someone have a higher sex drive and also conceive boys, if that makes sense.
Having a tilted uterus once was thought to inhibit conception but it isn't believed to be true any more. It's now believed to just be a physical variation not unlike having brown eyes or blue. I have a very tipped one and got my first 4 kids 1 or 2 months of TTC. If you're worried about it, try laying on your tummy for a while after BD.

Another question-- we've got an awful virus that's stuck myself, my husband, and my son. It started with my son, and since he was feeling so puny, I nursed him a little more than usual. I was expecting to ovulate around that time, but I still haven't yet. I'm sure the couple of days where I nursed extra could have impacted this. But for the past week, I've been back to my normal nursing schedule--the one I was ovulating with. As crappy as I feel, it would be great to conceive now since I know illness sways pink. Does Tylenol sway pink? My throat has been killing me so I've needed something to help. And does DH being sick sway as well? I guess that's more than one question. Haha.
Anyway, thank you for always answering our questions so quickly :) you're truly the best!

Tylenol is believed to sway pink, I'd stick with that rather than ibuprofen as it may inhibit ovulation.
DH being sick (unless he has a fever) probably doesn't sway but we honestly don't know.
It's my pleasure! Good luck!

It has been several months since I have signed on, but here I am, back at it again. We went on a TTC hiatus because my very close sister was diagnosed with brain cancer. (side note: she had a pretty successful surgery, has recovered well, and is discussing mild treatment with a wonderful oncologist) but, suffice it to say, this whole thing has all been incredibly stressful. I stepped up to help with her daughter, and was so busy I rarely had a second to myself. I was terrified she wasn't going to be ok, and just had to take some time generally to recollect my sanity.
Before hearing the news, I was not eating a healthy diet at all. Looking back, was perfect for a pink sway, but I just couldn't do it at the time. But now--I'm scared to ingest chemicals because I don't want cancer. I did just have a scan and I am in the clear, so I feel confident about TTC again soon, but what about the LE diet? I'm currently finishing my break from it, and will pick it back up next month, but I would like to modify it. No more aspartame, that is for sure. Is there a healthy way to do the LE diet? I mean, I can limit nutrients, sure, but what is the consensus on quality foods while doing LE? Do you have any advice?

Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear that!! I'm glad she's doing well and pray that things continue to be better and better for all of you.
I like people to eat healthy foods on LE Diet. Never liked aspartame (don't think it works anyway)
Can you tell me more about your specific concerns? Overall the LE Diet is actually pretty healthy but sometimes people assume it isn't, and I can put your mind at ease on that.

The break I was taking from LE was very healthy--darker fruits and veggies, all organic, more eggs again, some supplements... because I felt really weak, exhausted and deficient after nursing and depriving myself. I'm going to start the diet about January 20th again, and start trying to conceive again in April. I think in my mind, before, what made the most sense was to eat a lot of white carbs with minimal produce. Produce that I ate was lifeless and sad, like iceberg lettuce and cauliflower, and none of it was organic, because I figured non-organic swayed girl. I guess I maybe went overboard with how I was doing everything. Quality wise, is organic ok when trying to have a girl? Is it TOO healthy? I got into an obsessive groove before, so I think I'm trying to define what my new LE will look like. Without inadvertently making myself susceptible to cancer (aspartame, lots of processed chemical filled foods, etc.) I really did miss my health nut food.

When we first started this experiment we assumed that nutrients were all created equal and we should avoid brightly colored fruit and veg. But that hasn't panned out, and what we've found instead is that you can really have those things as much as you want as long as you're limiting cals, protein, fat, and avoiding fortified foods. If you have the option between a lower nutrient and higher nutrient food, all things being equal, then maybe you choose lower nutrient foods sometimes, but you can have the other fruit and veg without any limits on them at all. We have had tons of success with people eating unlimited amounts of low carb veg, and higher carb veg counting only calories and not protein or fat in them. (if anything getting better results that way - this is our PCOS-type diet and we've had outstanding results with that - also use whole grains with good results).
Organic is fine!!

WELL I guess I really could start a new thread for this but... I got an unexpected positive pregnancy test! I'm excited even though I didn't really practice my well thought out plan that I wanted to. But I'm telling myself, maybe that's a good thing to let the control freakness go. I'm hoping that certain things will be in my favor: I didn't eat much at all the week that I ovulated, I was sick, my husband and I smoked the night we DTD, I had just finished a round of prilosec, my husband had been eating lots of soy products, and then the stress of everything going on with my sister's brain tumor... I think that type of stress is the kind that sways pink.
Anyway, I'm going to stay relaxed and positive. The positive test made me really happy when I saw it and gender was not even on my mind at that moment. I'm holding out for a girl, but either way, I'm grateful, and I will update you all once I know! Thank you for all the help and support.
