Ok I am going with two options which one is best. I want to get pregnant this cycle but I want a girl. I have 4 boys in a row....bd on O day. Last boy was freq through O.
Option1: abstain for 12 days and then on Day 10 start bding till positive opk and stop.
Option2: abstain then when I get a positve opk start bding every 8 to 10 hours through ovulation and day after.
What do think?
I could ovulate anywhere from day 13 to day 18! I have always o'd on day 13 but last month was a screwy for the first time ever!!
If you have any better ideas please give!! Love you ladies!!

Emmy, I think you should go for bding twice on ov day if dh could handle it!

I like option 2, especially if you're doing a lot of other things to sway, because it seems easier to me. That having been said, I can understand not wanting to do what got you boys before and I think option 1 is a sound one as well, just that it might be harder to manage if you have either an early O or a late one.

I agree with you both. I think since I am not sure when I am going to ovulate. I am just going to abstain untill positive opk and then bd twice a day until O is confirmed. I really want it this month and I am doing so many other things to sway.

Wow,
I am new to this forum but I myself have 3 boys. All were conceived on ovulation day as I didn't know any better and thought it was just 50/50 so I just was trying to get pregnant the fastest way. I am now gun shy to attempt anything that has me doing the BD anywhere close to O. Good Luck in your adventure for a girl.

BD with a cutoff is fine too if that feels safer to you. Timing has been studied in a quite rigorous way and does not seem to be supported by the evidence. Both boys and girls are conceived via BD throughout the fertile period in roughly equal numbers. A lot of us have several Shettles opposites! o.O
