after reading this would it not be ok to just diet the week of ovulation and skip meals/ eat lighter. or would that just not be good enough?

This is referring to the study on which many of my suggestions are based, the "Oxford" study.
I personally believe it's best to stick to a low cal, low fat, low protein, diet with lower blood sugar, for at least a few weeks prior to TTC. I don't think it's enough just to do it the week of O, unless you are already very very very thin and have been a vegetarian for years. I know you have, MD, but for those who are not long-time vegetarians, you need to be off the meat for some time before TTC to lower testosterone levels.
