Hi, I know there have been many post on exercise but question... what is everyone doing for exercise TTC pink? I am currently running & speed walking on the treadmill for an hour (3.5-4miles) a day. Once i get use to running - i'm hoping to run a 5&10k. Hoping to do it 6x a day with a day of rest. Thoughts? thanks!!

I also speek walk (with my dog) in the forest or get up really early before everyone wakes up and do a 60 min work out fittness dance zumba you tube at home in front of the tele. We also have a rowing machine I plan to use. You really have to have a strong discipline to keep exersicing 6 days a week. I have problems finding time...

Hi ladies ,iam doing walking mainly and power walking treadmil 60min min, I'm getting in 5 days at the moment but I'm wondering should the walking be consistent like the 5 days in a row cause I've been doing 3days then 1day off then doing it the next two day , just sometimes hard to fit it . I feel this is really important part of my sway and I'm actually liking it , as it relaxes me. I'm also feeling the results lost 3kilos in a month just struggling with calories not getting in enough

I mainly run or cycle. If I'm running, it's usually just over 10k which I complete in about 55 minutes but it's a circuit so can't really add anything on to make the full 60 minutes. If I'm cycling then it's at the gym. I can fit it in most days but sometimes struggle as I work 12 1/2 hour shifts twice a week with an hours commute per day; it's too dark to run and the gym isn't always open when I finish.

No, that's fine to do it that way.
ABOVE ALL ELSE I think it is very important for you to do things in a fashion that you can maintain them (in terms of injury risk and sanity and weight loss). We can all sit around daydreaming about how if only we exercise for 4 hours a day, 8 days a week, we'd be guaranteed a girl but no one could ever stick to it and so it's useless.

Remember though, we don't even KNOW that building muscle even sways blue. That is just a guess. We KNOW that exercise sways pink, so I hate to see everyone get so fearful of the theory of building muscle, that they lose sight of doing what is actually working - exercising.
It is really tough for women to add muscle even under ideal circumstances and on LE diet and losing at least a little weight, it is biologically impossible.

thanks so much. Is anyone doing zumba? I will probably stick mainly to running/ speed walking and I too am thinking about doing 3 days exercise 1 day off 3 days exercise. Mentally and physically that will be easier. One last question - why is it is so important to do a minimum of 60minutes? I've read that is when we start burning fat and all that... how about 55 minutes? I guess on the safe side do 65minutes? thanks ladies!

Yes a lot of people have done zumba.
I have to pick a number to go for. Is it really any different between 55 and 60 minutes, probably not, but it's only 5 minutes, why not go for it?

MyByC - the hardest part for me is snacking after the run. I eat 2-3 animal crackers after that!

I think it's fine to eat a little something before or a little something after. Just not both or during.
What we need to avoid is being SOOO dedicated that we end up doing harm to ourselves (by keeling over fainting from low blood sugar) or making ourselves so miserable that we can't stick with the diet in the longer term.

thanks atomic. Question - i started the diet maybe 3 weeks in and probably wont TTC til end of May or June. More like June. I've lost a few lbs already which surprised me. Should I slow down or eat a little more? I could lose a few more lbs but i dont want to lose it all this month and next! Vegetarian diet, 60minutes exercise, skip breakfast (only a cup of coffee +2 tbsp cream + splenda). Haven't started on folic acid or fiber yet. Should I incorporate fiber?

Today I have both boys at home as it is the holidays and we've just done a big two hour walk in the park. It's all I'll be able to do today and it wasn't exactly speed walking as my four year old had to stop and look at quite a few things but it'll have to do! Some days I'm better than others. When they're at school I do 65min cross trainer but it's way harder when they're at home all day. I always say I'll exercise in the evening but by the time the bedtime marathon is over I am so flaked!
I would up your calories a by if you've lost a lot and need to wait until June. I've lost a lot and don't want to lose much more at all (bmi 19 now).
Atomic, do you know if psyllium husk is ok for fibre? I've been taking chitosan but it gives me stomach ache!

Psyllium husk is great for fibre. Many use it including myself. Sounds like you had a good walk!

Boyshopping, I think it is very late May or June....I would take it a little slower and introduce folic already...I think you can start being a little more drastic at end of March...as sometimes it takes a litte while to get pregnant on LE diet...take my example, I thought I will get pregnant right away and kept the diet so strict, but it took me 6 months...and my body was soooo weak...I was under my BMI, which is not okay.
Just keep it vegetarian but more kcal...and you can start everything else at end of March.

Folic doesn't sway to my knowledge and it wouldn't matter if it did, we all have to take it because it is the only nutrient shown to prevent birth defects when taken before conception.

Yes start folic and fiber, also do slow down that weight loss or stop all together.
