Is there anything you can take or do to make yourself ovulated earlier in your cycle? I was just reading up on the internet about all of this and some lady said a doctor had told her that the later you ovulate in your cycle the more chance you have of miscarriage or birth defect because your egg is old. This sent me into a panic after the horrendous cycle I've just had. Yet when I look back at my charts from previous pregnancies I have always Oed a bit later then CD 14 or 15. Should I consider taking a natural supplement or something else to bring O forward in my cycle?

I would like to know this as well. Vitex has been playing havoc with my ovulation and it's getting later and later. I'm stopping it this month. I know I used to take B6 to lengthen my luteal phase when I was conceiving my sons and that made me ovulate s bit earlier but I don't know if that's recommended for a girl sway.

I was told by my fertility specialist that ovulating later does not affect egg quality. I asked him this as I was averaging around cd30 so actually late, not in the normal range.

I wouldn't go messing about with supplements after one cycle with a slightly delayed ovulation as you will probably just mess it up more.

When did you ovulate anyway?

Purple I have been taking vitex for the past three cycles AF-O. Before taking it I always O'ed on CD14. The three cycles I've taken Vitex, I O'ed on CD11, CD16 and this cycle CD17. So nothing crazy, just a little frustrating!

Lol honeybee. I used to usually on on CD 15,16 or 17. This last cycle it was either CD 21 or 22. I do recall Oing on CD 20 when I conceived my daughter though back in 2009, yet Injust put that down to the fact that I was still breastfeeding our son. But anyway, we'll see what happens next cycle. I'm very interested to see when AF arrives this time. I just wanna be pregnant again and well past the 12 week Mark.

Purple, did you take the Coq10 ubiquinol? If so, how much did you take? Anything else? I hope you hear pink when the time comes. :)

Unless you O really late (like CD30 or later), only Clomid/Femara or possibly a trigger shot will bring O forward, and even those strong meds can fail. Some very late Oers respond well to Vitex but you are not a very late Oer and I wouldn't recommend Vitex for you anyway.

In almost 15 years of charting I've always tended to O late, CD18 on average, and NOTHING makes me O earlier. Not Vitex, not Clomid, not FSH injections. My body is just really resistant to Oing early. If I'm at all stressed, sick, or eating differently, I O even LATER, like CD20+.

I don't believe that eggs released later on are poorer quality, as most evidence suggests otherwise. However, 5/6 of my pregnancies have been from earlier than usual (so before CD16, once as early as CD5!) O, so I do wonder if I personally need to O earlier to conceive. :/

Stop reading the Internet LOL. WEll, you can still read it, just don't go into a panic over it. :)

First, that is in people who have abnormally long cycles. Like, Oing on CD 35 or beyond. And even then, it's TOTALLY unproven and is one of those ideas that has really gone out of vogue lately and most doctors no longer believe this to be true.

All those things that people say "take this or that" 1)don't work 2)often make matters worse making your cycle go totally cray-cray and 3) will either cut odds of conception or sway blue. Bad juju

B6 sways blue (regardless of what you read elsewhere TRUST ME I have seen so many boys on b6 including my 4th it's redonk) and additionally, it really messes up people's cycles. Plus, it doesn't work for all but a tiny minority, becaue most people's cycles fix themselves in 3 months without B6 and a quarter of a year without it (it's placebo)

I have 2 healthy boys ... ds#1 was a cd47 egg when I was 21 years old and ds#2 was a cd26 egg when I was 35yrs old .... hope this helps alleviate fears of "later ovulations"
