Hi just found this group I have two beautiful girls 4 & 2. I have just had my first failed pgd with Dr P.
Was so confident with first time success but it just didn't go our way. So many embryos retrieved with no healthy ones :( We will try again in May hoping for success second time round for a little boy to complete our family.

Hi Kimberly!
so sorry to hear it didn't go your way. My hubby and I considered HT long and hard (we would love another daughter) but ultimately we decided that we couldn't risk the $30-40k if it resulted in a failed attempt. I'm 31 and dh is 34 and we are extremely fertile but I realized that if it didn't work I'd be so devastated.
Did you take your girls with you to the US? This was our other huge stumbling block, trying to get people to mind our kids for two weeks while we were gone. We didn't want to take them because of the flight costs and how much hard work they are!
Best of luck for your second attempt in May!!! If it fails will you try again? Have you considered swaying instead? Xx

We are extremely fertile but Ivf is so different and not an easy process even if u r young an healthy, it didn't work first time unfortunately had 17 embryos retrieved n went down to 3 day 3/4 an they have no idea what happened had one boy one girl both abnormal. We took our girls over there we had a brilliant holiday they behaved soo well had grandparents to help out too. We rented a beachouse and flights were real cheap spent only $10k on holiday an fertility was $25k including medication, it's now gone up by $7000 so is a very expensive process. But I really want to try again just one more time.
