View Full Version : Sway for twins? While breastfeeding?

Hello, I have never posted here before, but was hoping I could get some useful feedback. I know this is a gender swaying forum, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a twin sway.
I never had any trouble conceiving. 1st or second attempt for both my kids. I'm currently breastfeeding and want to try for twins.
Is it best to try conceiving when your period has not returned? Or is it best to try when the cycle has returned? My cycle has not yet returned. Can anyone answer this for me?
I do not want to take clomid or serious fertility Aids. I would only consider soy isoflavins, but not until my baby is starting to wean and that would mean return of period.
I'm currently taking/doing:
-Prenatal (cheap gummies)
-1000 MCG high quality folate
-eating lots of dairy, spinach, asparagus
My plan is to take for the next 3-6 months:
-evening primrose oil
-l arganine
-two different brands of cassava supplement (one from forever blessed and one from cassava shop) I will double the dose, I figured it would not be harmful?
-royal jelly (although I'm not sure if I should take it while breastfeeding. Probably won't.)
Can anyone see anything wrong with my plan? Should I just forget the supplements and start trying now before my period has returned? Does it make that much of a difference?
Also, I do not want to sway pink or blue. I'm fine with either gender or any combination. I hope some one can give me some advice!

Breastfeeding sways twins! Your body is more likely to release more than one egg. I conceived twins once out of my four pregnancies and it was when I was breastfeeding, though sadly one of my twins vanished and could only see the extra sac at 6 weeks.
High amounts of folic acid and dairy seem to increase odds of twins. Aside from that, twins in family, clomid (which you wouldn't want to take breastfeeding) and IVF. A lot of it is luck!
Good luck in your quest, I would also love twins.
Thank you for the response! I'm so sorry about your vanished twin :( I'm nervous about something like that happening should by some miracle I conceived twins....
Do you remember if you had started your period yet or not? I cant seem to find a lot of information about it! [emoji4]

I can't say I did anything specific to get my twins (I was swaying girl on LE diet). I started out with triplets though. One didn't continue to develop. I'm guessing my age, multiple pregnancies, and family history of twins played a part in me conceiving multiples.
I read somewhere that the cassava that's supposed to sway twins is what tapioca is, but I can't recall where I read that. I'm not really convinced there is anything you can do to up your chances of multiples other than fertility treatments.

Hi Kingdom!!!
Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to get twins anyway. I'd have you take 1600 mcg folate and lots lots lots of full fat dairy.
PLEASE PLEASE do NOT NOT NOT take EPO, l-arganine, cassava, or royal jelly when nursing. It is NOT worth the risk of the unknowns. EPO is a blood thinner that may make your baby have bleeding and bruising issues. EPO and l-arganine affect hormone levels, royal jelly has actually KILLED people and may make both you and your baby more sensitive to bee and insect allergies for the rest of your lives. Cassava is just too big an unknown (people eat it in their diets but you are talking about taking medicinal quantities of it, even normal things can be harmful if you eat too much.) Additionally, they may make it take way longer for yoru cycle to come back so you're doing the whole program more harm than good.
What I would also do is get yourself some Preseed or sperm friendly lube like that and have unprotected sex every 2-4 days because this means you'll be ready with some swimmers on hand to catch the egg whenever they show up.

I got my twins the first egg while breastfeeding and also one of mine vanished too. I had had one period but it had been months earlier and then it went away again for 4 or 5 months and then I never had another real period, I did have a bleed but that was one of my babies going. :/ I was already pregnant when that occured. WEnt on to have a normal single baby 9 months later.
That having been said, I was also 39 years old (age = more twins) and have strong family history of twins (my maternal uncles are fraternal twins) so I suspect those things were swaying a lot stronger than breastfeeding was!

:agree: and I do want to second this - I really, really do not think that swaying twin is something that works. It's just too hit and miss. Clomid is the best way to do it. Aside from that I have seen gobs of people try all this stuff and it doesn't work for virtually all of them.

I had started my periods but only for a few cycles and I was still breastfeeding a lot (like around the clock at night!). I had gone on progesterone contraception but it had made me feel unwell and I was hoping to try to conceive again, came off it and had a few very early losses (chemical pregnancies). Then I started taking baby aspirin although the jury is out on the safety of this on pregnancy. Fell pregnant first cycle after a loss, didn't realise I was expecting twins until had big bleed at my work. Panicked and went in to see two sacs and only one baby with heartbeat, which was sad but I was only very early (6 weeks). The more babies you have, the more likely you are to conceive twins too, though I know several big families with all singletons. Congrats on your twins bunny!
My friend had similar situation of losing twin early on. They think that actually more twins are conceived than we think but a lot are lost at early stages. Breastfeeding def something that seems to help with release of two eggs. Identical twins are normally just random although they now think there is a genetic link for them as well. I do know one set of triplets but mum was on clomid. I know a couple of sets of twins too and one was first time mum, identical twins, so prob just luck. The other one was babies 4 and 5 so more kids definitely played a part :-)
Thank you! I'm still round the clock feeding with no cycle yet! So not sure if I'm fertile or not. I really want to conceive while breastfeeding to try for twins, but don't want to hinder my milk supply before my babe is done nursing for the very small chance....

Oh my goodness....I wish I would have asked for advice before purchasing all my supplements [emoji15] I did take one EPO!
(On another forum I was encouraged to take them.)
I will definitely follow your advice and hold back on the risky ones.
I will take the folic acid and eat the dairy products! Maybe ill do only that and just start trying to conceive. The companies selling Cassava claim that its safe to take while breastfeeding but now I'm having reservations. (I had ordered a huge supply of it) [emoji58]
I am 30 and have had two children very close in age. Baby is 9 months. No cycle.

I've conceived while using Clomid for a sway and also while breastfeeding round the clock and got singletons both times - babies number three and four. I think it's definitely down to genetics and pot luck.

Yes, you are probably right it is mostly luck. That's what I'm gathering! I think the thing that is making the most sense is the increased folic acid and nutrition used to sustain the life of twins should they happen to be conceived.

Yikes, so are you sort of recommending against bee pollen/royal jelly in general now? I saw that it had a pretty high success rate for swaying blue :(
What are your thoughts on EPO soap? I saw a bar of it at a natural food store and was curious if that'd be something to include without going full supplemental (and I imagine making sure is well cleaned off nipples before breastfeeding!)

EPO soap is fine. It doesn't do anything for swaying tho.

Well, some people don't care about safety that much. But all I can say is that I personally would not use those things when nursing, and they do all mess up your cycles hugely. I never ever use L-arginine for women because it messes up ovulation so much!!!
They say cassava is safe because people eat it as FOOD. But that doesn't mean that you can then ingest medicinal quantities of the stuff and have it have no ill effects. Here is a cut and paste from an expert in herbs:
Cassava is likely safe in pregnant and breastfeeding women who are not allergic and who take it in amounts that are generally found in foods. Levels higher than those normally found in the diet are not recommended due to the potentially toxic levels of cyanic glycosides. Cassava also contains goitrogens, which may cause congenital hypothyroidism and may be passed to babies during breastfeeding. Additionally, pregnancy may worsen a woman's preexisting iodine deficiency. Exposure to the thiocyanate from cassava may affect thyroid hormones and lead to changes in the baby's brain structure, which could possibly cause autism, according to one study. More research is needed.

Thank you! I could not find very much (legitimate) about the Cassava. The last thing I want to do is mess up my cycle or cause an issue for the slight chance of a twin pregnancy. I'll just save them until after I wean, if I haven't conceived by then. Its only a few months away. I won't double my doses either. [emoji10] would it be safest to take it before conception and then stop once BFP? Will it help with hyperovulation at all?

Coq10 is. I NEVER recommend FUR for anyone because it has gone nearly extinct in the wild due to all the herb hunters picking it, and what you are buying when you buy FUR is like 99% other junk they throw in there that has who knows what in it. :/ Plus we don't want to wipe it out!!

I am really not convinced ANY of these things even work, I've seen many people take them and never got twins. So I can't say if it truly helps with hyperovulation or not. I would personally have you stop them on CD 14 or positive OPK, whichever comes first, because we find many of these herbs will effectively delay or even stop ovulation so you have to stop them in order to O. Plus I think it's safer that way.

Hi there!
I, personally, believe that (for whatever reason!) the le diet is very twin-friendly. I have SCOURED this site for twin sways or sways that have resulted in twins.
Eons ago, at the beginning of my sway I tried cassava but quickly dropped it. I found the cassava chips awful and I couldn't bring myself to eat the potato I bought from an ethnic store that the sales lady swore would give me twins just like the African tribe. I did seriously consider buying the supplements but I could not find a reputable source and overall, I still wanted my sway to remain pink. (Plus the deciding factor was that of all the sways that resulted in twins, I believe, none of the moms were taking a cassava supplement)
I do think best chances of twins is clomid and LOTS of folic acid with le diet. Best of luck! And I pray we both get our sticky twin babes!

While I'd be up for another girl I don't think the husband would appreciate a girl sway diet [emoji14] I think he secretly would like a boy. I had read somewhere that boy sway diets can lead to twins cuz of the high nutrients. I will look into it though! Good luck to you. Prayers for sticky beans [emoji4]

Yes the interesting thing is, while all supposition online points away from this, SOMETHING about pink sways is making more twins for us or at least seeming to. Even without herbs and without Clomid, we've had a large number of twins from LE Diet. But overall I think that LE Diet would not be a reliable way to get twins, so I don't recommend it.

:agree: on paper boy sway diets SHOULD sway twin as well but weirdly we have not had very many. Our pink swayers have gotten a lot more twins even without any Clomid or herbal supps.
I would def. proceed with an all around healthy prepregnancy diet like HE Diet and then you're going to be in the best boat for both. High dairy, more folic acid/folate, and a good prenatal with extra Vit. D up to 1000 IU total http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-boy/16806-high-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html

I think it has nothing to do with swaying pink, but is simply due to the fact that so many pink swayers are very fertile ladies, often a bit older, and have 2+ kids oftentimes. I really do not think it's diet.
I don't think there is a reliable way to sway for twins, unless you move to that one village in Africa or are willing to take fertility drugs. I am not convinced Cassava sways and I don't trust the sellers of Cassava supplements,I'm doubtful it's the right plant.

:agree: I do entertain the possibility that it isn't diet but it just keeps on going and going. I wonder if it may be the higher carb intake. Just don't know enough, unfortunately.
:agree: about the cassava too. They have proven in studies that many herb sellers are putting a lot of junk into things that they say are something different.

It's more that I think that IF it's the yam they're eating in that village that is even causing the twinning (which we do not know), there are tons of different varieties likely including ones that aren't grown commercially. It seems unlikely to me that the Cassava sold as a supplement is the right type. Even if it is, it may need to be grown in the same environment to affect twinning, and that is definitely not the case. It may also need to be prepared a certain way to have effects. There's just so many variables to match up.
Kingdom, thank you.
