Its me again...

I need to be certain of when to DTD with a +OPK so i need a bit of guidance on the lines of the test.

I know that if the test line is as dark or darker than the control line it is considered positive, but what is the 'fade in pattern' in Attomic's NUTS and BOLTS section? I sometimes get two positives two days in a row - that has happened for 3 cycles already - obviously i would take the first positive one but sometimes my husband and i disagree on what is a definite positive..:worry:

Extract: 'fade in pattern' of sticks growing slightly darker as the LH surge approaches that can happen a day or two in advance of a truly positive OPK - i think i may have just answered my own question :suprise:

Some people will get a gradual darkening of lines and we call this a fade in. Unfortunately, it's not something that ALWAYS happens, and even if it does usually happen there is no saying it will continue in month of planned attempt. Swaying has a way of changing things, and so even if you were a person who always gets a certain pattern wiht OPK strips, start a sway diet and that can change dramatically and suddenly and you may find yourself looking at a dark positive OPK with no warning at all.

I think there is a deeper question here and it is "What do I do if my husband and I do not agree if a test is totally positive or not" and in that case, BD. It is better to be in with an attempt too early than too late. You never know, you may get a fast surge when your urine is just a bit diluted and never registers fully on the strip, but then if you were to wait a day, you may be Oing already. So when in doubt, BD, and then if you are at all anything less than 100% sure you have Oed, start up with the e4d pattern after that to cover you in case you have yet to O.

Great, thanks, im nervous of the e4d pattern - i think id mess that rite up!! This is my first month of LE diet so it will be interesting to see what the OPK's tell me.. im not ttc so im still checking my cycles out etc.. Im deffo doing one attempt at +OPK because i understand and believe in it now.. more so than the shettles method which is what got me here in the first place!!! Anyway, i need to pay more attention to my OPK's and i think ill be fine.. And thank you, DTD when either hubby or i think its a positive is great advise. ITs nice to know that is my 'back up plan'..

And if you're not sure, just flip a coin. For realz. Don't sit around obsessing over what to do, don't write up pro/con lists, just flip a coin and do what the coin says. :)
