View Full Version : Pulling out for a Girl

I am new here and was wondering if anyone ever had luck getting a girl when their DH's pulled out when the DTD. I know the chances of getting BFP would be quite low, but if the timing is perfect, could it hypothetically work?

I know a friend who has a pull-out baby, and she is a girl.

Thanks. We did that this morning. Not "trying" till next month but I would love to get a BFP this month (hubby would come around I am sure!) I put in a lime tampon and used replens just in case since we DTD at o+12 (in the hot shower) so all other swaying efforts are there...

My dd is from a pull out. I don't know when I ovulated, but it was a one time pull out days before ovulation.

Do you mean you pull out at the crucial moment so some sperm make it 'in' and some don't? In that case, I believe it would sway pink by lowering sperm count overall. You could also do a Jump and Dump for a similar affect. I would want to do other things too but if you didn't want to be too hardcore and weren't too fussed about gender (or getting pregnant quickly!) then it could help. I would want to DTD close to O though if I were only going to have one attempt and do it this way.

My girlfriend did this and got a boy. I think shallow release is a better option.

I think pull-out, shallow release and JAD are just different ways of achieving the same thing but I'd want to do them as well as other things to lower sperm count and sway pink. To me they're in addition to frequent release/abstainance, antihistimines, acid gels etc. and they're something which are easy to drop if you're not getting pregnant.

Agree 100% with Z!

Shallow release and pulling out can be hard for most men, like mine, so JAD is just easy and it gives you the time to do whatever you need to do like lime tampon.

I agree purple - DH struggled to finish for our attempt (because of all the releasing I'd made him do!) and although we had thought we would shallow release I felt it would have killed the moment completely if I'd reminded him right then. A JAD is easier and it's in your hands so you don't have to rely on DH to do something really rather tricky to do in the heat of the moment!

Thanks, ladies. I am doing suppliments (calcium, mag and cranberry), sudifed when EWCM is present, two glasses milk daily, refresh and replens, monitoring PH (I have less CM to test though so I think this is harder than it seems), crystal light, cutting back on meat, trying to cut back on salt but it is hard because I love it, and I happen to be part time nursing. I had a highly complex triplet pregnancy last year and lost the identical twins and have a very strong desire to conceive again soon...DH wants to wait a little longer so I am using these as practice cycles, but I would be thrilled to get a BFP. We always pull out anyway, so I am just trying to do it closer to O so maybe some will stick.

It is def. possible and would sway pink, but I would NOT use lime tampon, replens, etc because you are giving yourself virtually no chances of pregnancy.
If you can't get pg, you have no chance at your DG.
My DH and I used pullout for over a decade and never had a pregnancy (and I get pg very easily.)

I agree, they are all different ways to accomplish the exact same thing - lowering sperm numbers. For some reason we don't comprehend, less sperm seems to sway pink.

You don't need BOTH RepHresh and Replens, just pick one. I like RepHresh better.
Less CM is a GOOD thing! Even if you can't test the pH, don't worry about it!!
 that you have success!!

Hi ladies, I'm pretty new on here, this place is fabulous! I hope you get your DD onehealthybaby :).Sorry to go off on a tangent but could you please tell me how to do the lime tampon technique? Thanks in advance.

IMO lime tampon is to soak a tampon in a half lime half water solution and insert after DTD. Leave it in for four hours if you are doing 0+12 or keep putting one in every for hours for cutoff.
I used lime juice and regular water...there is probably a better way to do it...

The directions on how to make a lime tampon are here with the guide to douching.
