So the flavoured fizzy water which I drink ALL THE TIME and I thought was fine, actually has some sugar in it. Am freaking out I've not been keeping my blood sugar low when I thought I had!! Can someone tell me if this is ok or if it would raise blood sugar? Per 100ml, it has 2 kcal, 0.3g carbohydrates and 0.2g sugar. Is this going to be enough to raise my blood sugar? I have a glass of it when hungry as it's sparkling and fills me up slightly. I don't like Diet Coke and it doesn't have aspartame in. Help!!

Also - am panicking because a lot of my diet consists of wheat flour products, eg bagel, pitts, crappy white bread, white pasta.... I recently learned that flour is fortified with loads of healthy stuff!! I don't know whether to change my diet completely and stay away from flour products and delay this month's attempt, or whether the quantities involved are no significant to sway blue? Please help! Am getting in a bit of a flap about this! I thought I'd been doing nothing so well on the diet, and now I find out that they make white flour HEALTHY!!!

I think you're fine on both counts.

Thanks maiden. I just feel like I could've been doing the diet better if I'd stuck to rice based carbs instead and only drunk plain tap water.... Will do that from now on. Thanks for replying!

Eh... flour and those products may be fortified, but generally only with folic acid, which benefits all pregnancies (and is why it's fortified in the U.S.). It's still carby and thus quick burning ;) and the drink is definitely nothing to worry about. I'd add: the fortified bread products probably have more fiber still, which only benefits you!

Throwaway Panther, in the uk it has thiamin, iron and something else in. I think it'll be ok! I was just having a bit of a meltdown! Apparently the iron isn't well absorbed from the bread!

If it's less than 5 cals I don't worry about it.

we don't know that it IS the nutrients though. We GUESS about that but it may be some other aspect entirely like effects on blood sugar. I personally got a girl eating mainly white stuff and I know many others have as well. Plese don't worry over things like this, we just simply are trying to figure it all out. It's diet limits really, of this we do know based on our results.
