Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
I went completely vegetarian. Ate only 2 meals a day, rarely snacked, drank loads of coffee and alcohol. Tried to reduce sodium. Choose full-milk dairy.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
5 months.
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
Convincing him to even consider #4 was a big enough commitment for him. :-)
DId you consume alcohol? Often- daily

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
I started out counting calories through My Fitness Pal but it didn't take long to gauge how much I needed, plus my appetite decreased and I found it easy to last until the next meal.

Breakfast - a cup of strong coffee with 1 sugar. (I couldn't do aspartame it makes me gag!)

Lunch: around 11:30, usually rice, stir-fried with mushrooms and chilli, or pasta with cheese.

Dinner: Similar to lunch, though sometimes I ate a salad with pan fried mushrooms.

I had 1-2 glasses of spirits mixed with Pepsi Max every night.

If I snacked it would be a Pepsi Max or another coffee... the month leading up to the attempt I was drinking 3-4 coffees a day.
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
I was a big meat eater prior to the LE diet. I can easily lose weight following the Atkins/Bodytrim style diets and I love scrambled eggs, steak etc. I avoided all protein during the LE Diet - please note that wasn't recommended however I did factor the no protein in.

I am gluten intolerant and haven't eaten gluten for nearly 10 years. My 3 boys were conceived when I didn't eat any gluten. So, to change my diet again, I made a big effort to eat gluten daily during my sway.

Another big change for me was fibre. I made this a huge part of the sway, I had 2 tsps of Benefibre powder in every coffee I drank and I took up to 4 Metamucil tablets daily.

If I was hungry after dinner I would eat full-cream yoghurt or cheese, or even a glass of milk. This is totally different from my previous eating habits as I would always choose a low fat option.

If I felt a bit out-of-sorts I would eat a banana (1-2 a week).
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
62kg (I'm 5ft2).

I was 54kg when I conceived DS1, so I wasn't super stressed about a low weight, more about the condition of my body at the time of conception.
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I hired a treadmill and walked fast on it for over an hour 4-5 times a week and played competitive sport once a week, as well as running around with my 3 boys. I am by nature a very competitive person, so I dropped a grade in my sport and joined a team who are all about having a laugh, trying to win but not caring if they lose, and having a drink afterwards. It was fun. To stick with the 1 hour on the treadmill, I plugged my ipad into the treadmill put headphones on and watched documentaries on Netflix! If I watched movies, I started walking slower so I could follow the storyline, docos were much better as you don't have to watch the screen the whole time. This is the ONLY way I could have kept to my routine as treadmills are so darn boring!

I lost around 6kg which doesn't sound like much, however my entire shape changed and I felt great.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known
I did PH with DS3 and found it too stressful, so I did not factor PH into my diet.
Any VG potions used? NO

CM pH at attempt
Not known.
DH pH
Not known.
How many BD attempts did you make for the BFP cycle?
1
BD Dates according to Ovulation No idea

Any additional comments?
I use a fertility app and it said I was around the time of ovulation, I POAS and I had faint line come up, so went ahead with the attempt. I retested the next day and it was darker, so I can only guess perhaps 2-3 days before O.
THE DEED INFO
DH Info about Swimmers Frequent Release

BD Position

Any relevant attempt details?
I J&D immediately and we'd both had a super hot bath prior.
SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements Baby asprin
folic acid
Fiber
Antihistamine

DH Supplements Sudafed

Any additional supplement info?
We were both incredibly sick with the flu. Our attempt was 2 days after Christmas and we had just worn ourselves to the bone with the lead up to Xmas, and 4 parties in 3 days. We were still drinking even though we were sick. We were both taking sudafed, cold & flu tabs, panadol (like tylenol), Disprin (like asprin)... anything we could find in medicine box as the chemist where we live was closed over the break.

In the lead up to the attempt, I was taking COQ10 but I was bit hit and miss with them.

I also took Fefol (iron & folate) regularly as I was getting so tired.

DH was taking OLE but he gradually stopped taking them.
Did you do anything with Ions?
No.
Moon Phase during conception?
-
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
No, I did that with DS3 (girls clothes and wooden spoon with ribbon under the bed).
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
I feel my sway was "The Perfect Storm". We were SO sick. Plus, the lead up to the attempt had been nuts. It was summer and our kids were so excited about Christmas they were getting out of bed at 5AM! And some nights we weren't going to bed till after midnight, so we were both averaging 5 hours sleep a night. Both rundown and keeping it all together until we both got sick Xmas Day (kids didn't get too sick, thank goodness!). The day of the attempt I had a 2 hour sleep and then once kids were in bed DH ran me a super hot bath and I lied in there for about 20 minutes, I hopped out and he got in and topped up the heat. Meanwhile I did the ovulation test, told him to hop out of the bath, had our attempt and got up IMMEDIATELY and J&D. Plus, all the Sudafed and Disprin I think would have helped sway.
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
The fear that my body hadn't changed its condition enough.
Things worth mentioning:
I had the Harmony NIPT Test at 10w2d, and at 11w3d I was told the pregnancy is low risk and it is "female". *squeal*

Also, when I first started the LE Diet my period went from a 24 day cycle out to a 35+ day cycle. I msg'd Atomic and she suggested taking iron, which I did and my cycles seemed to settle down around the 28 day mark. FYI the longest cycles I have ever had - loved it!

If you are considering doing the LE Diet, spend the money and get a customised plan from Atomic.

Thank you Atomic for all your help! :-)

Congrats! I'm not using Tapatalk and I can see all your exercise info. I love really detailed sways like this! FWIW, I don't agree with such a low protein diet OR choosing full fat dairy. I personally feel fat sways more than protein.

Congrats and great sway!

Do you mind telling me more about your gluten intolerance and how you felt going back on a gluten diet during your sway? I ask because I have been gluten free for about four years. I have celiac in my family but I tested negative myself. I used to have a lot of digestive problems that cleared up when I gave up gluten. Personally, I don't think gluten itself could sway pink or the world would be overflowing with girls, but I wonder if having issues digesting your food would sway pink because you'd absorb fewer nutrients or if it's just easier to follow a LE diet when you can fill up on pasta and bread at meals. What made you decide to eat gluten again for your sway?

Erin, we have also observed a phenomenon where women suffering from autoimmune disorders are having way more boys and then when treated, go on to conceive girls. We have had very good results with gluten free diets for pink and I recommend anyone in doubt, who has conceived boys while eating gluten, drop it for TTC a girl. It very well may be that there is more going on here than we know and I feel that it is certianly something to do differently. Here is a link to a form of LE Diet that can easily be done gluten free. Hi Erin, for years I suffered with "irritable bowel syndrome" that I couldn't manage as it would be triggered by what seemed a new food every day. My symptoms were: RIDICULOUS gas, constipation which escalated to diarrhoea, bloating and a constant bubbling feeling in my tummy. I also got cramps from holding in the gas as I needed to let go every minute of every day. Not nice in an office environment! Not to mention it could possibly peel paint off the wall if I let one out! The day I went gluten free is actually a day I remember as IT CHANGED MY LIFE. All the symptoms went away and I NEVER had gas. The other symptoms I could have dealt with but the gas was insane.

I too, am not celiac, but definitely have an intolerance. I think going GF changed my diet to be more boy friendly as I favoured more meat and veg/salad style meals or eggs for breakfast instead of cereals/breads. I don't like the GF option of pasta/bread/cakes, so I just went without those. So as you can see totally not LE - more HE! I love and can easily follow an Atkins/Bodytrim style diet as there's no gluten and lots of protein, therefore 3 boys! So I knew to give my diet a really good go, I would need to eat carbs with gluten. Plus, to me, gluten free was something each of my eating habits leading up to the conception of my 3 boys had in common, so I had to add gluten into the mix for the LE Diet. It wasn't as bad as I thought as I was mostly at home, so I could let the gas go whenever or rush to the toilet. But my poor husband at bedtime!! LOL!

Interestingly, I have a girlfriend with celiac and she has 3 girls. I have spoken with her at length about whether being celiac may have played a part in her having 3 girls, though she's not convinced as she says her bowels are working as they should now, meaning she is "healthy". I personally feel that the damage (body not absorbing nutrients) was done in the 20+ years she was undiagnosed. Anyway, I don't think gluten is a game changer, but definitely a factor. Hope that helps!?

Thanks so much for your reply Am3a. Funny thing - my aunt who has celiac also has three girls (all born before she went gluten free). Although my grama who had it had an even mix of genders so who knows if there's a connection. In any case, sounds like you really gave it your all to get your girl, lol!

Atomic, I'm so glad you posted your thoughts and this link. My first boy was conceived while I still ate gluten and my second was after I gave it up, so it's a toss up for me. My diet is definitely pretty HE though, as I tend to eliminate simple carbs when I don't eat gluten, like Am3a did. But if you've had good results for gluten free LE diets maybe I will just incorporate GF breads and pastas since I can stomach that stuff. I'm not sure I'm willing to suffer an upset stomach for months while TTC :-)
