Does birth control influence AMH levels!

Hi Dr. Braverman,

I am 35 and have one son who is 18 months. I got pregnant with him my first month off birth control. We just went for a consult for IVF/PGd for gender selection while I was still on birth control (Seasonique). At that consult they did initial blood work and my AMH level was low (.4) Can birth control effect AMH levels? Should I have it checked again now that I have stopped it?

Yes it can affect the AMH, I would repeat after being off OCs for 4 weeks. If still low then we should discuss the causes for this.
