View Full Version : A strong 6 week girl sway- is it possible?

I discovered GD just a couple of weeks before our first cycle trying in February. We got a BFN that month, so I took it as a sign to sway like a ROCKSTAR through March and April. (We are 33 and 35 with a history of quick conception, but I'm worried and I don't want to wait much longer.) Well, I got sick in March and have been on the LE diet for only a week now. This means that if we are aiming to try again in April, I will have been on the diet for just five weeks.

MY (STRICT) SWAY PLAN:

-LE Diet (skipping breakfast, 1200 cals/day - I have 5 to 10 lbs to lose) ETA: Vegetarian, no snacking
-1 hour cardio per day (treadmill - should I do something more intense?)
-Crystal Light, Coke Zero and a little wine here and there
-800mg folic acid
-Low dose aspirin (not sure when to start yet)
-DH is vegan, wears boxer briefs. No supplements for him. We have had trouble with FR/ abstaining worries us, so we've decided to BD every 4 days for a good shot at 1 attempt during the fertile period.
-Missionary, no Big O for me
-Not super worried about Ph, mine is naturally 4.5-5 and I have two boys. Trying not to think about timing beyond 1 attempt.

So my questions are:
-Is it enough? Is this a long enough period of time to make a significant change?
-Is there anything I can do better to give us a better chance of pink in such a short time?

I feel a bit desperate about having a baby before spring of '17 because of the age gap, and because we will most likely try to conceive our fourth fairly quickly as I will be 35 next year. (Especially if #3 is a bouncing baby boy.) I want a larger family either way and would adore any little angel, but I know I'll experience gender disappointment if we add more blue. I guess I'm struggling with whether it's worth it to wait until June or July to TTC again when time is of the essence.

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance!

Good luck! Everything is looking great to me, but I would recommend (strongly) that you start off at a higher cal intake and then you can adjust. Your weight will plummet faster than you believe at that rate of cal intake and with exercise.

I like 1200 mcg folic

If your husband either smokes or bikes/jogs then that may help a bit in that short timeframe.

I always think you should let your family's needs be your guide on how quick to sway. For all you know you'll not conceive the first month out and end up with longer on diet anyway, and you don't have gobs of weight to spare. I think 6 weeks is enough and then you have wiggle room to drop tactics as you go if you so desire.

Thanks for this- makes me feel a ton better! Upping my folic acid and calories (a relief, actually!) and going for a solid 6 weeks. Hubby doesn't smoke or do cardio, he has a high-stress 6 days/week desk job in finance, drinks a ton of caffeine at work and hardly eats until he gets home (late) in the evening. Exhaustion on his part is usually our downfall when it comes to DTD, poor thing!

That same exhaustion may help your sway tho!
