Yuk.maybe a good sign but I don't like feeling like it I was really bad last night. The room was spinning. I seem to be feeling sick over everything hungry but sick of food. The only thing that is appealing to me is the salad boxes in my local supermarket

I think it's the first time I've enjoyed Le food, it does have some garlic and honey etc. But it's better than running for some cheesy chips like I did before ;-)

I thought I'd want to know too, have done with all the others, but thought maybe a bit of hope for 9 months is better than none, but I'd stay realistic and tell myself a boy I think. I thought when I Googled the harmony test you could do a pin price sample from home or something but may be wrong. Nice to have the 11th to aim for and see Bubba on the machine :-)

Cream of wheat sounds just like ready brek uk ladies?! But that's heavily fortified over here...
Diet been good today as been at work so usually is! Lol! If I pack it, I have to eat it and I tend to refrain from the bad treats around - although I did indulge in a small piece of Madeira cake that someone had made :o x

Oh no BR I'd worry too but I'm sure it's nothing; have you had a cold/been ill recently? My youngest had one for a while on the back of his neck when he was a very small toddler and I was terrified but all was fine. The skin on my face has gone soooo dry lately, I keep having to really exfoliate it; wasn't sure if it was the diet or my cc cream, maybe it's a combination of the two?!!x

It seemed to go when I was naughty and ate normally but has just came back so maybe it's related to something I'm eating now back on the diet. Def. Not having as much water so could just be dry skin.
It could be glands etc. From being run down from doing the Le diet and exercise as it Def. Made me catch colds and made me run down.

Davesig4 that's exactly my line of thought when I first started doing this and I couldn't get my head around what to do for the best and over thinking it. Do I go down the lots of empty carb and sugar route or do I go the healthier wholegrain and lots of veg route. I tried the first but put weight on and my immune problems flared so I've gone the veg route. You've got to remember even if you are eating lettuce and cucumber for lunch and a plate of free veg and grains for dinner you are not getting loads of protein and fat in your diet like if you were eating burger and fries.
I find it easier to have the same few meals with very little nutrients in for lunch then for dinner I have a set of about 14 meals that I have which I buy the ingredients for at the beginning of the week so I know what I'm having. I also have some biscuits in that are the lowest fat and sugar I can find and if I'm struggling and need something sweet I have a few. I have a king prawn curry every Saturday night but with wholegrain rice and a small bag of maltesers and that's my treat but within my limits. Sunday's my hardest day so for Sunday dinner I have loads of free veg with gravy then whatever I like Sunday evening as another treat. This gets me through the diet in the week knowing I'm not going to be miserable at the weekend. It's just finding what works for you. Try not to worry hun like mulberry said its other factors that sway too.
Thanks for your replies Mulberry and Frilly Lady. The thing that I don't understand about the nutrient thing is that you have broccoli for example, which is healthy, plenty of good nutrients, but low/no fat and protein which is considered a good food to eat on LE - to me this seems high nutrient because it has good nutrients. If you had a burger and fries that's loads of fat and quite a bit of protein, but very low nutrient because it's full of badness, yet has a tonne more cals so may make our body think yay loads of food=good times! If we are trying to promote bad maternal condition then we need less cals, but things with less calls generally are healthier for us, like veg and salad, so I don't see why it's good to eat carbs! Oh my god my brain hurts from all this!!!!! I think I'm even confusing myself now haha!
atomic sagebrush
April 18th, 2016, 05:22 PM
I luckily just happened to catch this.
YOu would have to eat a LOT of broccoli (like a literal mountain of it) to get the amount of nutrients in a Big Mac, Fries, Choc. shake. Protein, fat, calories, and lots and lots of other nutrients would be present in a vastly different quantity in "junk" food than in broccoli. The idea that a burger is very low nutrient is simply a misconception.
We are so used to hearing "veggies healthy" that we sometimes forget that things like bread, meat, dairy all are CHOCK full of nutrients. Just because they may not be great for heart health or cancer prevention, if you were a starving person, what would you rather have - hamburgers breakfast lunch and dinner or a plate of steamed broccoli??
You guys can't read too much into things like "bad maternal condition". That may sway pink, but we don't WANT to be run down, sick, and miserable (and if you had to be, there would not be bilions of women walking around on Earth). We are trying to decline our condition just a little bit while still eating a diet designed to be a healthy prepregnncy diet.
Increasing carbs vs. protein and fats has been shown in animal studies to sway pink.

Hamburgers for 3 meals a day, I think I would die of the guilt lol! But I'd enjoy them first! I see what you're saying, I just find it difficult to get my head around as I would have thought that veg was far more nutritious than carbs etc. and therefore better for us swayers to eat on LE.

April 18th, 2016, 05:43 PM
But the whole human race for most of our existence, lived in the wilds and ate what we could find. Leaves, berries, broccoli etc. Carbs aren't inherently unhealthy (and many vegetables and all fruits, ARE carbs, of course) and if we couldn't get a girl while eating plant foods, the entire human race would have died out a long time ago.

SO I may have indulged in 2, (possibly 3 ahem) oreos! Then we went out for dinner for a back to school treat for my eldest but I kept it veggie. SO haven't been the best today but did 10k power walk/run today so hoping that helps.

Hi Girlie
I will copy and paste an extract from Atomic where she responded to someone else re what food we can eat..
"Don't focus on foods. Focus on limits. You can have ANY food you want (seriously, there are no forbidden foods for pink) and instead of making this diet that everyone MUST do all the same, this way everyone can eat what they personally like and know how to prepare and are available in their areas"

Girlie I feel exactly the same. I am glad I'm not alone! Although because I can't eat breakfast or snack I find that it's exactly what I want to do! But keeping busy helps keep my mind off it. I have been adding in some wine or other alcohol that helps to add in calories. And actually adding in a little treat helps too. I think it's allowed! But someone please tell me if it's not!

It's amazing what a big bowl of pasta can do you your cals! So lunch was a bowl of left over veggies from dinner last night, with some Nando's garlic sauce on - this is amazing, I am getting more than a little obsessed with it, I put ti on everything! And another 2 oreos, luckily they have all gone now and I won't be buying anymore until I get a BFP because they are soooo good it takes serious willpower to put the pack back in the cupboard! Then for dinner I hd a big bow of pasta with a little homemade pesto and a sprinkle of WW cheese and a little B&J's ice cream sandwich. I was really struggling to get my cals up before but pasta is clearly the way to go! Just hope this bloated feeling doesn't last too long!

Today I had 2 poptarts (American pastry). Second meal was Asian chopped salad with MorningStar crumbles and a pinch of cheese with a small roll and a few pieces of red licorice. Third meal will be 2 small slices of cheese pizza and probably something for dessert to bump my calories up to 1800.

Amazing how 'boy friendly' i eat now that i think back on my day! I had a cup of tea when i woke up because my throat was on fire. I had a brioche before the doctor. Came home and had some rice cakes and chocolate. I had some pilau rice for lunch followed by a piece of toast with cheese and a coffee and chocolate. A little later i had a diet coke. Ive just had two rice cakes, some more chocolate and the rest of the pilau rice and another diet coke. For dinner im having halloumi salad with flat bread and depending on how i feel maybe some wine. Will have to push my attempt month out at this rate! So much for NO MORE chocolate after easter!!!!

I agree, although you probably ate a little more often than normal they were all still girl friendly foods, no meat, lots of high carbs, low fat and low protein!
Today I made a pitta bbq pizza.... 1 wholemeal pitta sliced in half and a tablespoon of bbq sauce plot between then both. Then sprinkled with reduced fat cheese and grilled. I did have a bag of Tesco fries (crisps) with them and then a mini twister ice lolly (under 50 cals and low fat BTW!)
That was at about 11am, then I did an hour or so of cleaning, early tea of 3 bread rolls with a little bit of heinz sandwich spread. I also had about 6 starbursts to give me a boost to do my exercise as was feeling so weak and almost bailed on exercise, but managed to do it!
Af should be here tomorrow or Friday and then it's all go for first and hopefully only attempt!

I gave myself a cheat day yesterday squigglepink, I just really needed the restrictions lifted to just get it out of my system!
Today I managed to keep so busy I didn't have my first meal of stir fried veg and noodles until 2.30pm! Finished my meal with an apple and a yogurt. I then went for an hours run and had my last meal which was a bit of a mish mash - left over cheese and ham toastie (1/4 plus crusts), 3 crumpets, 2 with grilled cheese, a cinnamon and raisin bagel and a few crisps. Sounds a lot but still under 1800kcals?!x

What's the deal with Diet Coke? Is it to take place of coffee? I ask because I drank loads of it with both DS1 and DS2. I avoid it now. I can't do coffee since I am nursing, and I don't think decaf coffee sways much since I drank 2-3 cups a day when we were trying for #3.
I do the alcohol though, this time swaying. Only 3-4oz since I'm nursing. I never drank when TTCing before. If I did it was the occasional light beer or wine.

I've seemed to notice two camps of girl moms where I live- Midwest USA.
1. Skip meals, usually breakfast. Seem high strung-intense. Drink coffee. I see them with a take away cup of coffee in the am and again in the pm. Don't have time for exercise but are SUPER disciplined with diet. Either low-cal, low-fat, very little meat, healthy with a sweet tooth for fruit candies or pastries. No chocolate or ice cream.
2. Exercise. Cardio junkies. Avoid coffee or anything perceived as being empty calories. Healthy eaters. Mainly vegetarian but some eat lean, white meats. If they do have anything sweet, it's a bite or two of a small amount of chocolate. No snacking between meals. Don't skip meals though due to exercise. Drink alcohol regularly in evenings/night to relax/unwind. Watch portions. Don't worry about fat/protein as much as keeping portions small.
I've surveyed a lot of moms of only girls. They usually approach me while out and about with my boys. They always comment on how well behaved they are and how handsome they are. They then share how they always longed for a boy. Some even always miscarried a boy [emoji20]. Then I share how my DH longs for a girl, but I seem to only make boys. Then we talk about our habits.
My grandma totally fit into the first category. She had three girls- my mom and aunts. She directed me to the second category, which she told me about. Her youngest sister fits that category to a T.
I am definitely category 2. I love my exercise too much! Plus, I do need a tad bit more calories with the breastfeeding so I feel this is the better option for me.
I think you could blend the two as well for a nice sway!
Thanks for reading. I'd thought I'd share, since I've talked to hundreds of girl-only moms!

I see alot of slim mums of boys at the gym but I think the difference is they may eat alot of lean protein with salads etc. And not so much carbs which in theory is quite healthy.
I'm aiming for an hour of cardio (which I find hard as tired from the diet) so my exercise isn't short and intense like it usually would be. I am eating empty carbs like cous cous and rolls with salad, no protein and keeping calories, fat and protein as low as I can. I am snappier at the moment due to feeling the pressure from feeling tired and low sugars. If I increase my food and sugars I feel more patient.
I'm hoping that I'm doing enough.
Today so far I did 30 mins on the gym bike at average pace but not high intensity like I usually would. Then 30 mins walking as fast as I could on the treadmill on an incline.
Lunch was: Salad leaves, vegetable cous cous, a small amount of low fat potato salad from Marks and Spencers and 2 soft rolls with heinz sandwich spread, no butter. Going to have a roll again for tea with salad and cous cous. Maybe a couple of starburst sweets if I feel too low with sugar levels

I think you're doing great chocolate! I think the LE rules are a bit different for you, since your on Metformin. Meaning that any exercise in any amount is good for your sway.
I think the boy moms we see at the gym are doing moderate exercise that may involve cardio, but they also weight train or do body weight exercises like Pilates and Yoga.
I know I did my fair share of cardio, but I also did weight training too. I never just did cardio, and I certainly never did 60+min! I may have occasionally when I used to run, but I always incorporated weight lifting or Yoga into my workout routines. Plus, I never worked out 6+ days a week. I stuck to the 3-5.

Just as an aside as the "other side of the unintentional LE lifestyle" -- I did weights. Heavy weights. 4x a week. For YEARS.
And I still think the crappy diet (I was eating SUCH low protein for the lifting I was doing -- which explains why I plateaued pretty often) and ALSO the tons of cardio I also did (biking, volleyball, hiking, even lawn mowing) outweighed the weights.

^^^agree! I think the diet and tons of cardio outweighed the weight lifting.
I know that I never did more than 20-45min of cardio with my weight lifting. If I did cardio only, it was maybe more than that but only 1-3 days a week, which is still moderate exercise.

I am off out to a pub for lunch tomorrow and it's my first attempt in 2 weeks. What do you think I should go for, avoid? Don't think I can get away without pudding and have my eye on a praline chocolate tart but they do also have sorbet
... Maybe that's better? Salad with roasted veg and halloumi which is probably quite fattening.... Or a carvery but I might not resist the meat or potatoes! They do thin crust pizza too, maybe that is best, they may do a healthy one

^^^I would get something pink friendly that works with what you're craving. Maybe the pizza? Or maybe the salad so you could indulge in a dessert besides sorbet. That's what I would do personally. That way the people you are with won't bat an eye at your dinner choice because of the dessert. I've had to fake people out that way numerous times. You'll still be within limits. Trust me!

Just had a peak at the menu again, think I'll have the thin pizza with a side salad and the sorbet.... And go back after the attempt and eat a burger and the chocolate tart ha ha!!! Pizza is a good compromise as I won't feel like I'm missing out :-) My first attempt ovulation is around the time I have a family day out planned and a spa day... I'm going to have to have willpower to take a packed lunch and avoid my usual food choices on the spa day. I knew it would fall around then :-( Going to have to make sure I exercise when I get back from the day trip too and before the spa day, joys!!

First meal- egg biscuit and banana. Second meal- broccoli with white rice and a few bite of chicken, red licorice and a small bite of milk chocolate. Third meal- Tortilla with refried beans, lettuce, tomato and salsa with a glass of white wine and raspberry sherbert for dessert.
1771cals, 67g protein, 42g fat
* I need a tad bit more protein the first day of AF. I normally have 40-50g, which is low for breastfeeding.

Breastfeeders should eat 1800-2000 calories. You may try 1600-1800 calories since he's eating less. I eat more since my guy is 5mo.
Cheats are mandatory to keep sticking to the diet. Just pick back up tomorrow.

Well I had an iceberg and cuc salad followed by 2 oreos for lunch at 12 and then a WW wrap with some WW grated cheese and little bit of homemade hummus for dinner with a couple of random lonely florets of raw broccoli and cauliflower with hummus! Followed by another 2 oreos, they are addictive! I am quite proud of my self that I managed to stick to just 2! But I lost albs last week when I was having 2 after lunch and dinner so I'm thinking maybe the treatiness of them helped me stay on track!! Wishful thinking I think but hey-ho!

Ugh. I ate crap today. First meal- 2 poptarts and a banana. Second meal- bowl of pasta with broccoli and marinara and a few pieces of red licorice. Here is where it gets bad. Real bad.
So after I picked up DS1 from school, I had what should've been a small snack. Well it turned out to be dinner instead. A dinner of junk. Third meal- [emoji15] Teddy Graham's, goldfish, tortilla chips, small piece of chocolate, and a banana. I'm pretty sure I've met my calorie requirements for the day, and I know I'm low on protein and fat by default. If I have anything later, I'll have a glass of wine. I have never pigged out on junky carbs before. Ever. Ugh.

That does not seem to bad to me xxforhubby, sometimes you need days like that to keep you sticking to the diet longer term. What are we eating today? It is day before pay day and it has been a long month so not much in the house, looks like toast for lunch about 12:30 and dinner potatoes, vegetables or pasta! exciting stuff. Would love a glass of wine but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I am confused about salt, are girl swayers suppose to keep it low? I thought I read somewhere that that was less of a factor now, my salt would be high. Also are anyone taken sodium and magnesium supplements? I stopped taking them as I read somewhere that it increased your nutrition! have a good day ladies

Bananas are fine and a great low nutrient food. Old school swaying thought they swayed boy due to being high in potassium. Sometimes Atomic leaves them out for that reason, but she told me bananas are a great food to include. Bananas have no fat or protein but high in calories. This is great for days when short in calories.
I personally think they are neutral- I got a boy eating them regularly and a boy not eating them at all.

Now I'm starting to worry that the cottage cheese might be really bad for my diet! I always stay within my limits of protein and fat (I try to keep both around 40 grams) for the day. Anyone have any insight as to whether I should drop the cottage cheese? For those of you eating rice and pasta, do you have any good sauces to put on them? Cottage cheese is fine as long as it's within your limits. Pasta, marinara sauce, Alfredo sauce, vegetable oil with herbs is most common. For rice, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, tamari, etc are common.

I'm really just experimenting with meals right now since I keep going over my protein and under my calories. Right now my GO TO MEALS are... Meal #1: roasted peppers, zucchini.eggplant on a bun with one slice of Swiss cheese and roasted red pepper sauce with a soup: chicken broth, tomato paste, alphabets, carrot little bit of celery. Meal #2: salad.. Romaine, some chick peas, cucumber, green onion, croutons, sprinkle of feta. Meal #3: rice and veggie stir fry with a sprinkle of cheese.
Other ideas I have are:
1. Stuffed peppers: rice, beans maybe, salsa, cheese, veggies
2. Quesadilla: wrap, cheese, veggies, sour cream
3. Veggie wraps
4. Veggie bean tacos
5. Pizza: wrap/naan, sauce, cheese, veggies
6. Soup: roasted veggies blended with sour cream to thicken
7. Salad: spinach, strawberries, almond slivers, goat cheese
8. Dessert... Yogurt with strawberries blended.
I'm going to start to drink CL and maybe a bit of alcohol too. I'm nervous since I'm BF tho.
Anyone else want to share their meals!?

Drinking it that way beyond first thing in the morning is considered snacking. Maybe try a sugar free sweetener between other meals instead. When I drink coffee, I love the vanilla sugar free liquid sweetener. It was super yummy!

I've been naughty, I had a bag of crisps and a slice of lemon meringue pie for lunch! For tea I had cous cous salad with a little Parmasan cheese and having a large glass of wine this evening with the intention of getting back on track tomorrow. However, it's vegetarian and didn't blow my goals, fat percentage was higher but still OK.

I had a toasted bagel with a slither of peanut butter and jam for breakfast, two jacket potatoes with a small amount of cheese and half a tin of baked beans followed by a yogurt and some fresh raspberries and strawberries for lunch, then some plain rice with oven baked portobello mushrooms, peppers and cherry toms together with broccoli, a small amount of feta cheese, followed by a lager and lime, Apple and some dried fruit. Gone over on my kcals but did an hours run and don't want to be losing anymore weight...x

Then a small bowl of pasta for dinner with some homemade pesto and a sprinkle of light cheese. Packet of oreos are now finished!

I think it's the exercise and lack of protein?! I've never been fat/overweight but I'm at my smallest now and my husband actually called me "skinny" the other day; my chest, ribs and pelvic bones are becoming quite visible now and bmi is 20. Something so I know not to go any lower but af is just leaving now - diet has been dismal the last few days which I'm putting down to that! I'm under on my fat today but slightly over on protein, I'm doing the pcos variation so higher protein and fat.
Alcohol is good for boosting kcals, I love bagels and crumpets and both are pretty good for le diet and fruit is fairly innocuous on the diet too X

I think I need to cut the oreos! I'm not and never have been overweight or fat, but since having DS2 I have had a layer, a very stubborn layer that I am finding so hard to shift. My bmi hovers around the 22 mark. I find it quite disheartening that I am not really losing that much noticeable weight and I'm exercising and not eating crumpets and bagels!! Maybe I need to move even more and eat even less to create even more of a deficit!

Today I had: pita pizza so that's naan bread with tomato paste and mushrooms zucchini and leeks topped with some cheddar. I had this for both lunch and dinner it was so good. I also had like 8 pieces of licorice and an orange.

Nope. Not unless you have PCOS or have insulin resistance. In that case, it's best to avoid or to limit sugar.
Us ladies doing the traditional LE diet, find candy, pop, and other empty calories to help boos calories and to make the diet somewhat tolerable.

I personally wouldn't avoid tomatoes, onion, garlic, or bananas. I got a boy eating them, and I got a boy cutting them out entirely. I don't think they sway, but some people want to avoid them because old school swaying theory stated they sway boy. This has since been disproven but some people want to start out their sway leaving them out.
I would keep them Nessa, since you have to cut out good fats like olive oil. You don't want to restrict your diet too much and run the risk of not being able to stick to it.

I dont cut out anything. I still add salt to my meals - although not as much as before (quiet heavy handed with the salt and pepper on my meals) I very strictly dont eat breakfast and i dont snack, however when i do eventually eat i like it to be with things i enjoy. So things like avo, cheese, salt, tomatoes, feta, garlic etc etc are some of my fav's and i need them in my life! :) I remember reading somewhere on here when i first joined about avoiding tomatoes etc BUT its outdated info and Atomic has already squashed that rumour of no tomatoes and a LIST OF FOODS TO AVOID and repeatedly stated 'the limits', its all about the limits! Here's a link to the convo i had with her in this regard http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/53686-500-1800-cals-day-40-50-g-protein-30-60-g-fat-3.html

Ill just copy and post a lengthy response here from Atomic, in case you dont feel like reading through the threads/link i just posted:
"BUT I DON'T WANT YOU GUYS TO DO THAT. I DON'T WANT YOU TO DO EAT THIS, NOT THAT. That is why I have fought against this approach from the very beginning, it is because it makes it far too easy to then go on to miss the forest for the trees. The important thing is limits, limits, limits of diet and not "magic foods" because if a food swayed this way or that the whole human race would have died out a long time ago. Maiden has been doing this a while now and that part of it is second nature to her now, but if you are a new swayer and trying to find the magic pink foods to eat, you're setting yourself up to undermine your sway really bad. You have to at least spend some time tracking the limits till you get a feel for it instead of looking for the easy way where you eat the same foods every day without understanding what the point of the diet even IS.
Sometimes you're going to be in a situation where you HAVE GOT TO eat one of the "naughty" foods. People put way too much emphasis on the foods and get so freaked out and panicked over "bad foods" that they end up harming their sway in a Mary-Martha way because they went to their grandma's and had a roast beef sandwich. These things are ok now and then. It's really not that big of a deal overall to have red meat a couple times a month when you have to. It really, really isn't.
OR, when you decide to put a food on the forbidden list, it messes with your mind so much that it's all you can think about, and you start craving it. Then to satisfy yourself, you end up eating 500 rice cakes and drinking a gallon of Crystal Light and etc etc etc off the "approved" list till you end up going over on the totals anyway and then you end up saying "eh screw it" because you already blew the diet and you end up having what you wanted to eat in the first place, plus half a birthday cake and the crusts off your children's peanut butter sandwiches for good measure. IF you had just had the whatever-it-was in the first place you probably wouldn't even have exceeded limits, but when the focus is on foods and not limits, people lose sight of this.
Other people feel so complacent that they end up eating too many "good" foods that they think are pink friendly but go way over limits and end up inadvertently swaying blue without even realizing it. A quart of whole milk, 4 eggs a day, a chicken breast, pasta with butter, tahini and strawberry jam on homemade white bread, huge servings of yogurt, eating 3000 cals a day and then flabbergasted when they get boys.
IT IS NOT THE FOODS THAT MATTER. It's the limits. Some foods make it easier or harder to stick in the goals of the diet (and are avoided out of practicality) and other foods are easy to avoid so you may as well avoid them most of the time like red meat (and are avoided just because we may as well), but PLEASE do not do this yes you can, no you cannot approach, there is a reason I refuse to do it that way and it's rooted in 8 years of watching thousands of people sway in about every way you possibly can think of and it is because the diet limit approach is just better. I know it takes a minute to catch onto it, but it's BETTER. It's better for your health, your sway, and your sanity and that is why I do it that way even though it would have been very easy for me to make magic food lists 5 years ago and be done with it.

Coffee by itself or with artificial sweetener is fine between meals up to 4 cups a day. Some people like their coffee with a splash of milk or cream along with real sugar- this is NOT ok to do between meals as it has too many calories. Doing it that way is fine in the morning if skipping/delaying breakfast like Atomic did, but continuing to do that for 2-3 more times a day would cause your blood sugar to spike too much and undermine your sway.

First cheat 3 days in is quite common so I really wouldn't worry. It's all about doing your best. It took me quite a while for cravings to calm down and sometimes they came back and I'd indulge in some cheesy chips or maybe a burger once a month but it's the best I could do. I now don't feel that hungry and have 2 meals a day but it's easier as my attempt is in a few days and I will treat myself when my af is due. I was having 1 coffee a day and I think I am going to drop it too as I'm not sure if it contributes to mood swings for me. I do drink diet coke and that has caffeine so I have to not drink that after 530pm too.
Hope you get some sleep!

What was it about coffee that helps a sway? The caffeine or the coffee bean or do we not actually know this yet ?

What do you ladies go to to increase calories without increasing protein and fat? I am low on calories most days so looking tips to bulk it up, I have a cup of tea with one sugar for breakfast. Then two meals a lunch and dinner. I usually have salad or soup for lunch but I have had to add some bread in to increase calories. Dinner I usually have potato or pasta based dish with lots of vegetables. I also have a glass of wine. What could I add into my 2 meals? I am slightly overweight (10 pounds ) but in total since last April I have lost 6 stone. Any advice gladly accepted, many thanks

Not sure nessa sorry! But coffee is meant to be better for sways than tea if that helps?
Could you add in some soy protein? I know soy milk isn't meant to be great for a girl sway but I imagine it's better than adding meat? Xx

Blimey well done chocolate!
I had a slightly shocking half a weekend. Yesterday I had one of those days where I literally needed to eat all the food! I don't know why, but I simple needed to eat, bizarre! However today has been a good day, and no oreos! Lunch was a salad with some halloumi followed by 2 chocolate snack-a-jacks, are they allowed? Dinner was a veggie burger with some mushrooms, leeks and courgette followed by another rice cake and 3 fat free marshmallows.

Hey ladies does anyone have any vegan meals they can share? My main meals are roasted vegetable sandwich and a small soup. I put a piece of cheese on the sandwich but I and wondering if there is another way to add flavour other than using dairy?
Also, I love rice stir frys. I just cook any veggies in my fridge and add rice to it. I usually add a bit of cheese to flavour it but I am wondering if there are other ways to add some flavour other than via dairy? I am thinking I could use a stir fry sauce (soon much sodium!)
Any non dairy ideas to flavour meals would be appreciated or any Vegan meals too!!

Nessa I am following with interest, I am crap at inventive ideas, someone put up on another post a link to a butternut curry and veggie chili, they looked really good. I cannot drink coffee but was drinking a few cups of tea decaf tea a day, lately started having it black, but one cup in the morning with a sugar, should I cut out the tea? I think I read recently it sways blue? I cannot replace tea with coffee as I hate the taste of coffee, the tea was helping me to stick to two meals per day! I am planing vegetable soup and bread for lunch (at 1pm if I can hang on that long!) and then dinner some sort of veggie stuff with potatoe and vegetables, boring! I also did back to back exercise, did my exercise dvd last night and than running for an hour this morning, I am hungrrryyyyyy. What is everyone else eating today?

I too am also rubbish with ideas, I havent been doing any cooking for myself, just eating rolls and salads. Think I ovulated yesterday or today so now have to decide how to eat just in case I'm pregnant this cycle but also how to eat in case I'm not as don't want to eat anything to harm my sway if I need to try again next cycle! Guess maybe just allowing myself a bit of store bought pizza would be OK as still vegetarian but avoid meat.

I had 2 pop tarts for first meal. Second meal will be Asian chopped salad with MorningStar veggie crumbles, a small roll, and an apple. Two pieces of red licorice. Third meal- not sure. Maybe two tortillas with refried beans, tomato, lettuce. Peppers with edamame huumus, and a banana. Maybe more red licorice or free veggies like cauliflower if I feel hungry still. White wine if I'm low in calories.

I love roasted veggies on a bun with a piece of cheese I had that today. I usually have a small soup with it as well. Just a little chicken broth with some noodles. This seems to be my "go to" first meal. I have been eating around 1pm each day because I try to stay super busy in the mornings and distract myself. Then I go for my walk around 3pm and then focus on dinner after wards and eat around 7:30 after DS goes to bed.
Tonight however, is our 2 year anniversary and DH said I can pick the place we go out for dinner... but I am so nervous to cheat so Im trying to think of places to go that won't be TOOO BAD. All I can think of is a veggie pizza (at the place we had our first date) or sushi (i could get vegetarian rolls, and maybe tempura? maybe a soup and sewed salad?)
Any suggestions?

Progesterone is the culprit. Good news it's a great sign of good hormone production!
Today first meal- cream of wheat with strawberries and had a small banana. Second meal- a bowl of Mac and Cheese and an apple. Third meal- 2 small slices of cheese pizza and a few pieces of red licorice.

Well that's quite interesting, did a Google on progesterone and sugar cravings and came to a site which said you get cravings in the luteal phase as your body needs about 500 extra calories to get ready for pregnancy. And also a short follicle stage can result because of low oestrogen which in turn can cause early spotting in the luteal phase which is what I had. It can be triggered by dieting and low carb, excessive exercise. All spot on! So my increased cravings is to get me eating more to raise my progesterone in the luteal stage!

Red licorice is just an easy way to get some empty cals.
DO NOT eat black licorice when TTC. It is not safe.
All foods are ok in limits and fish and shellfish are my fave protein "cheats" (using quotes because if you're in limits, it isn't really a cheat)
but be sure you are not eating them more than 2x a week, 3 absolute max, due to risks of mercury buildup possibly harming future pregnancy.

I must have ovulated- my appetite has been off of the charts today. I'm over in calories but within protein and fat limits. I'm also breastfeeding a ton, since DS3 is teething and nursing for comfort. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm going to add a bit more food to each meal tomorrow to compensate. Hopefully that will be enough! At least I haven't snacked so my blood sugar is still nice and low between meals.

I'm managing fasted exercise much better which is allowing me to continue pushing breakfast further into the morning. Last ate at 6pm last night and I've run 11k this morning and gone on to have my first meal at 10am of two crumpets with slithers of cheddar and a bagel with smearing of spread and jam oh and a banana too! I find monitoring the actual food that I'm eating too much to keep within the "good food/bad food le diet" and I'm just monitoring the macros instead. I hope that's OK as it is allowing me to eat more enjoyably but keeping le nutrient wise...x

This is a hard one to answer, since they both matter equally. I think as long as you are within the limits, even at the maximum, that is fine. It's SO much different than how we were eating when we got our boys! I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you don't go over too often.

Hi All
Hope you're all well! I have been absent for a bit this last week or so, have been feeling a bit demotivated and demoralised about my lack of weight loss but managed to keep up with the exercise side of things. Diet has been a bit iffy, probably the cause of the weight loss halt! Still haven't had any meat or breakfast, maybe a nibble of a couple of bit of dry cereal, but not proper breakfast! And snacking has been 95% there. Have definitely been consuming too many treats though to try and make myself feel better about things! I just find that after not having much in the day I am so hungry in the evenings and find it hard to resist the cravings. I think it's a catch 22! If I was seeing some weight loss I could definitely resist no problem, but to see weight loss, I have to resist in the first place! I swear all the chocolate in the world has decided to call my name in chorus the last few days!

So I am trying to get my calories up to 1800 and fat up to 55g and protein to 45g. I must say its a bit of a challenge to satisfy all these limits simultaneously.
Today I had my first meal at 2pm (I had a late dinner so this was necessary for me I felt) I ate..... A tortilla wrap with Vegan cheese (yes I have switched and its gross BUT I love cheese so Its better than NO cheese! I will deal with it.) I also put on the wrap roasted veggies, and falafel bites. I also had a soup and hummus with crackers and a pear without the skin.
This all came to.... 850 calories, 22g of protein, and 25g of fat.
a few Questions.....
1) I know salt doesn't sway but what is a reasonable range to stay in?
2) Will spices affect my sway?
3) And you ladies always mention having salads.... what do you put in your salads?

I wouldn't worry about salt at all. The normal healthy guidelines are 2400mg a day, and I rarely exceed that. I don't add much extra salt to things though.
Spices are fine. Don't worry about it. Season away!
Anything! I add MorningStar veggie crumbles to most salads- it's a meat substitute. I have lately been loving the Asian chopped salad that is prepackaged by Dole. It's SO yummy!! I also have a mixed green salad with spinach (all fresh from my garden!) with sautéed mushrooms tomato and veggie crumbles.

I agree, salt is last on the list to worry about. I quite like a salad with a few Parmasan cheese shavings. I think ranch dressing is OK, I tend to just use a little of whatever dressing I like or even light salad cream otherwise I can't eat it

Hi all, feeling a bit stressed and annoyed. Thought I ovulated day 10 and then thought I had a bfp but it wasn't and now I'm ovulating and can't do an attempt as have been eating so bad and no exercise. And to make matters worse next month the week before my attempt we are possibly away so would be no exercise and crap food. So won't want to try then either :-(

Oh no chocolate, do you think you o'd twice or just a delayed o? Can you not try again with added sway tactics? X

I think it was delayed. Think I've had a temperature rise this evening so will know in am but think I actually ovulated today and wasn't happy trying again as I haven't done the diet etc. As I'd have liked too.
Back on it though and will have to just try next cycle, at least I know not to trust the first positive opk next cycle and stick at the diet just in case! :-)

You can get pink salt which is iodised or something and that's meant to be good for pink sways.
I've had curry and rice for dinner, noodles for lunch and diet coke instead of coffee today. Xx
