Well I had half a cheese and tomato toastie with quite alot of chips (fries) for lunch as went out with my eldest son for lunch, followed by a caramel egg mcflurry ice cream! Did do my hour exercise before though, I won't eat anything else until 530pm ish and will have 1 bagel toasted with strawberries and a small glass of wine. My normal day would be a bagel with cream cheese, strawberries, yoghurt and then for tea probably a baked potato with salad and more strawberries. Wine in the evening and maybe some mini ryvita crackers alongside a meal if hungry and low on cals. Oh and corn on cob with a bit of light margarine to add fat and calories

Great new thread thanks Mulberry
Today for lunch I had a decaf coffee with milk and 1 sesame seed corn cake. For dinner I had a carb overload! 4 slices of wholegrain toast with lighter Lurpak and low sugar jam, 5 wholegrain Swedish crackers with lighter cheese spread and two mini cravings cheese ****s. The boys had mackerel, baked potatoes and garlic bread so I kept out of the way!

Lunch today was 3 slices of weight watchers bread and low fat cheese made as cheese toasties.

Dinner was a large baked potato with low fat cheese and a low fat strawberry yoghurt.

It makes me laugh to see how we are all eating like picky toddlers! :giggle: Fasting really takes my appetite away and I really haven't wanted much to eat, nor have I wanted to take time to prepare anything. I caved on cereal a bit, but I've stayed around 1200-1500 calories, and always under on sodium and potassium. I tend to roll "dessert" into dinner because I have a sweet tooth, and I sip water or Crystal Light throughout the day. It's been a stressful week but I am trying to phase out the sugar a bit more. I've lost 4 or 5 pounds in two weeks, yay for loose jeans!

Pinkflamingo's Girly Menu

DAY 1
Lunch- cinnamon raisin bagel, cottage cheese with strawberry topping, half of a sliced green apple, diet Dr. Pepper
Dinner- white rotini pasta with a little marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese, handful of mini Nilla wafers, Coke Zero, Outshine strawberry popsicle

DAY 2
Lunch- Lean Cuisine mac & cheese, romaine lettuce with croutons and light ranch dressing, diet Dr. Pepper
Dinner- white rice with steamed broccoli, light mozzarella string cheese, Oikos Triple Zero strawberry yogurt with a little Frosted Flakes cereal, diet Dr. Pepper

DAY 3
Lunch- romaine lettuce w/ sliced mushrooms, cucumbers, croutons and light ranch dressing, cottage cheese, white bagel, handful of raspberries
Dinner- veggie chicken nuggets, steamed green beans, white rice, diet Dr. Pepper, Oikos Triple Zero peach yogurt

DAY 4 (busy/not very hungry)
Lunch- white bread toast with unsalted butter and raspberry jam, romaine salad
Dinner- bowl of frosted flakes with soy milk, light string cheese, Triple Zero strawberry yogurt. I ate a banana because I was worried I wasn't getting nearly enough potassium. :/

DAY 5
Lunch- went out to eat with family so I ordered Mexican rice and charbroiled chicken breast with cheese, ate half of it. Full sugar Coke
Dinner- ate the other half of lunch, plus yogurt and then an ice cream sandwich, whoops

DAY 6-
Lunch- white bread toast, unsalted butter, raspberry jam, cottage cheese with strawberry topping, sliced green apple
Dinner- Totinos cheese party pizza, Coke Zero

DAY 7
Lunch- 2 light string cheeses, cinnamon raisin bagel, gummy fruit snacks, crunchy peanut butter granola bar, Coke Zero
Dinner- probably a Totinos party pizza

I haven't started the LE Diet yet but I was browsing the web for vegetarian recipes and I came across the Hungry Girl's website and she has a ton of meatless recipes but they are also low fat as well. So you may need to use full fat cheeses and diary products to reach the limits for the diet. I'm not sure if the recipes are LE friendly but I think its worth looking into because some of them may work. I attached the link if anyone wants to look at the recipes.:)

I know, my husband told me about it! I love it, use it every day. Its So easy to use.
AND - I didnt know this - but at the back of our Samsung - there is a scanning thing, next to the zoom thing :) - When you select to check your stress levels or heart rate you put your finger on the scanning button thing and that measures your stress or heart rate levels then allows you to record them for that day.. along with everything else. Im super impressed!

Hi ladies! This is my second sway with the LE diet [emoji12]! I've accumulated a ton of meals/recipes to share. I will post them in a bit because it will be rather long!

I'm currently breastfeeding my sweet 4mo old DS3 (a sweet blessing to come from a failed girl sway). I have to stick to upper limits of everything and need to include a bit of poultry/pork in addition to vegetarian sources of protein. My limits are: 1700-1900 calories, 60-70g protein (only until he is 6mo and eating some solids then I can drop down to 40-50g), 40-50g fat while keeping saturated fat low.

I'm also doing the 60-70min of cardio 5-6 days a week followed by PiYo (a combo of Pilates and Yoga) for 20-30min 2-3 days a week after my cardio sessions.

I'm excited to sway again! I will try to post when I come up with a new meal to share, otherwise I'll drop by to check in. I can't post daily because it causes me to think of swaying too much and makes me obsess! Yep, I'm one of those boy moms [emoji6]! Although I must say, breastfeeding and exercising is mellowing me out a ton!!

I'll post my meals and you can PM me for recipes. I have an awesome chicken noodle soup that only has 13g of protein for 2 bowls!!!

Oh and I use the MFP app. It's SO much better than the website! You can scan barcodes and have all the info for your item without having to do math! Plus, it keeps track of your exercise and steps too!

Hey xx am so excited to be sharing this journey with you :) to me you're an inspiration to us boy mummies because you absolutely radiate with enthusiasm over your love for being a boy mum! I often feel like I lost in the parenting lottery (in relation to how others view parents ie one of each is winning, two girls next then two boys last!) i would be interested in your veggie recipes :)
Today I skipped breakfast then had a coffee with jalapeño tortillas and hummus for lunch but I snacked on an Easter egg! I had a drink of Ribena as well xx

xxforhubby, this is also my second time on LE, my DS3 was also a failed sway, he is now 2 years old, he is amazing and i can't imagine my life without him. I LOVE my boys soooooooo much but i still dream of a DD. I would also be interested in your recipes, not sure i was great at it last time lol

I have been a terrible snacker 2day, i skipped breakfast, had a lot of black coffee and diet coke and picked at boys easter eggs boo

Aw! You ladies are too kind [emoji8]!

My go to veggie meals are:

Refried bean tacos with shredded iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and shredded cheese on either a small tortilla. Makes two servings. I also have this with a splash of salsa and 10 round tortilla chips. I sometimes add grilled red, orange, and yellow bell peppers to this as well!

Morning star grillers veggie burgers with sliced tomato, a slice of cheese, on Sara Lee delightful wheat bread (can have two slices for 90 cal and only 6g protein). I have a small baked potato too will 1-2 tsp Grapeseed oil or canola oil (I use this in place of butter).

Fusilli pasta (rotini or corkscrew will do) with a light tomato sauce, broccoli, a pinch of shredded cheese. I have 1.5 cups pasta and 1/2 cup sauce.

I also make grilled cheese on the Sara Lee bread with two slices of Muenster cheese with either vegetable soup or tomato soup.

I eat a lot of homemade Chinese meals that way I can add meat and not go over in protein since the rice and veggies do not have any.

Breakfast type meals I have strawberry smoothies with 1/2 c yogurt, 1 cup strawberries, and I add a serving of cream of wheat cereal to thicken (I use the one in the box because it is barely fortified unlike the instant) or instant grits (basically puréed corn, haha!).

I will make eggs either regular or I use egg beaters, and make up egg cups ahead of time. I beat or use egg beaters, cook spinach, sautée mushrooms, and any other veggies I may want, and mix with the egg or egg substitute. Place in a cup cake tin about 2/3 from the top. Bake at 350 until golden brown. Can last up to 5-6 days refrigerated.

Bagel thin (only 110 calories and no more than 6-7g protein) with low fat cream cheese with an apple and berries in low fat or 0% fat yogurt.

I'll make 1/4 c of ricotta cheese, mixed berries and a pinch of sliced almonds in place of a dessert with a meal that I am very low in fat for the day. I use part-skim so it still doesn't have too much fat in it.

I eat a lot of salads with any kind of greens that I feel like having. I add two tablespoons of any type of cheese, tomato, white mushrooms (sometimes I sautée them first), and I add morning star veggie burger crumbles along with any low fat dressing.

Lately I've been substituting Morning star veggie burgers or their veggie burger crumbles in place of meat. I will only eat 1-2 2-3oz servings of lean chicken a day. I try to avoid doing this as much as possible. I never eat red meat as I have a horrid intolerance to it that is almost an allergy!

I think that is all off of the top of my head for my go to veggie meals!

Thank you! Do you think it may be worth swapping white bread for whole meal? I actually don't often eat bread but I like potato bread and bagels, though if I make a sandwich it's always on white.
Tonight's dinner is colcannon mash with peas and Thai style quorn fillets xx

Not necessarily. It's what we normally eat at home. If you have PCOS tendencies, then I would stay away from white carbs and go whole grain. We eat a mixture in our household- a little white here and there and a little whole grain here and there.

How is everyone doing? I am currently trying to get a meal plan 2gether, i am a terrible snacker and cheat. I figure if i have set meals that i know all totals to then on the crazy days when i am lacking motivation and inspiration then i have LE meals to fallback on.

So far looks like i may be eating a lot of stirfrys, soup and salads, all low calorie tho so may have to top up with a glass or two of wine (no complaints here) lol

I had cheese and whole meal crackers for lunch with a bowl of fruit and ryvita thins but I don't think I had enough protein because I was hungry later and there's still too much time until dinner! Will maybe add in some quorn with that meal next time or a rice pot. Considering some salad with pasta and potatoes for dinner. Skipped breakfast again and had my first meal of the day at 12 along with a cup of coffee with skimmed milk. Took the boys for a nice walk to the park to get some exercise in but will do a dance video later too xx

I'm glad to help! I'm coming up with an Asian salad with tofu later this week.

First meal: grits with strawberries and 1/8t of Ceylon cinnamon (doesn't have blood thinning properties but still lowers blood sugar) and a medium banana.

Second meal: salad with morning star crumbles, tomato, sautéed white mushrooms in Grapeseed oil (highest in omega 6's = super pink), a pinch of shredded cheese, and bolt house ranch dressing (made with yogurt and only 45cal for 2 Tablespoons! Plus it's super yummy) with a small roll and a small sliced apple.

Are you getting enough calories? Remember we are supposed to get 1500-1800 calories a day, especially if you're exercising.

You may- I'm just concern [emoji6]. I don't want your ovulation to go on strike!

I've not gained weight but my diet is still waayyyyy off I start well, a good 16 hour fast and only 2-3 meals throughout the day with plenty of coffee and fibre but once I start eating, I just crave shoving food into my mouth, the worse the better and just can't seem to fill myself up?!! I was managing really well with the diet before the weekend but now I just can't seem to get back on track. Right, start AGAIN tomorrow!!!! I'm on a night shift tomorrow too so that usually throws a spanner in the works....

Hi, I also find that once that first bit of food hits my mouth it's hard to stop. Think it's because I'm not feeling satisfied as it's food I don't particularly like. I had a bad day today as I made spaghetti bolognaise for my kids and had it for lunch and have just picked on chocolate and biscuits in the late afternoon instead of a meal! I am now hungry and going to have to resist grabbing something. May have a bagel once home.

Still struggling with how to get the protein/fat-puzzle right and add enough empty carbs to my daily kcal-intake. I keep losing weight and am now 48 kilo and BMI 17, so I am affraid of losing O. Today's food which isn't perfect as meant to be doing Pcos diet and had chocolate and cake;
930am Piece of sponge cake and diet coke
1pm 1 and a half wholegrain bagels with a little grated cheese, lettuce and pickle. Followed by about 30grams of dairy milk chocolate.
4pm Naughty cream egg and 2 slices of wholegrain toast with a little light philidelphia. Lots of diet coke all day plus half a cup of coffee first thing with sweetener.
Probably about 1650 calories, did an hour exercise too.
May have to find some sugar free sweets to replace my chocolate and cake cravings!

Thank you so much.

P.S: I already eat tons of rice, add sugar in coffee, full sugar sodas and have added full fat dairy to my diet too. What more can I do?

I know it might sound terrible, but as someone else said with the wine... try bulking up those calories with alcohol! *I* personally had a decent fat intake when I conceived my girl (while being pretty low protein in comparison), and my fat intake was even more "boy" fat (looooots of olive oil).

Not to say you should replicate that, but to say that I think -- depending on your current intake -- slightly bumping up the macros might help, since your weight loss potentially hindering your fertility in general is a genuine concern.

Thanks a lot for advices, lovely ladies. @chocolate do you suggest me to add corn on top of food? Canned yellow corn? Problem with wine is that I really don't like to drink every single day, but maybe only 3 evenings a week. So the other days I add up kcals with some sweets, rice-milk, sugar soda and fruits. I also put sugar in coffee - something I did not like before swaying. I also eat tons of rice and quinoa. I am not used to all that sugar and empty carbs. Hope I am not going to stay on this diet too long as I miss my old HE-healthy diet. The good thing about this diet is that I have discovered new and delicious foods and vegetables.

I don't think you need to be adding so much sugar in. I know artificial sweetners are pinker, and you doing something you don't enjoy isn't great either!

Yes I think corn on the cob or tinned corn is fine, wont add many calories but it's a start.
I'm addicted to having chips (fries) daily, still loosing weight and in daily goals but I feel like they are boy foods, need the Easter holidays with pub lunches to be done as I have no willpower when on days out!

It's Def. Harder with other people around although most women I know are odd eaters at some point so they don't ask too many questions.
After some advice, do you think it would help my sway to actually eat fruit and veg? Do you think by just eating wholegrain bagels with low fat cheese or toast for all my meals will hinder it.... Alot of articles seem to say about fruit or veg. But not sure if that's because of lack of meat or because of the fruit and veg. Signals? Have been staying away from them as it's harder to incorporate and I see them as extra nutrition

Have you seen the sample five day menu chocolate? It's a good place to start your meal planning. It has a wide range of foods that you may enjoy but if that doesn't suit then Its important to have a diet you can stick to without making yourself miserable for 12+ weeks. Discovering new meals and veg is good. I have found that vegetables taste a bit nicer lately too funnily enough! Though I should be eating more of them! Xx

Just did some reading on the forums about diet etc. Thank you.
That's it, I end up feeling miserable eating veg. Pasta and rice etc. Which is why I tend to be eating bagels or toast or when I'm naughty just chips (fries) with lots of diet coke, a yoghurt a day, 1 coffee a day first thing and then a large glass or 2 of wine a night.
I had planned on doing broccoli with philli and Parmasan for lunch with half a bagel but I did my exercise and had a bath and then felt agitated and shakey so had to grab something quick to eat for lunch which was a cheese bagel. Might have to try again on the broccoli at tea time ;-)

Ugh. I've been so good that I allowed myself to cheat yesterday to celebrate 7 days in a row of cardio. Well, I did my exercise today, did my deep housecleaning, and had to get bonus exercise to bring home DS1's friend from school. Needless to say I had a snack, and I went overboard [emoji20]. I think I need to structure cheats better and plan my meals better to handle extra exercise or work.

There's always tomorrow! Live and learn!

Tonight im having Tomatoe soup with garlic flat bread. I might opt for a quiche and salad instead.. i should probably take my fibre tablets whilst i remember, Lol! I have to take them 30-60 mins before a meal and i forget. End up taking them with my meal instead..

It's hard isn't it especially with children to run around after. I had to abandon taking the boys shopping as just felt weak and snappy so we got lunch and went home for some TV and blanket time.
I had a bagel with a bit of cheese for lunch and 2 custard cream biscuits. I think it will be hot cross buns for my tea.... I'm also taking metformin which I think is lowering my blood sugar levels and with the exercise and diet, just adds to making me feel lethargic. Can see the sense in trying to optimise become pregnant first try as it's hard to commit to feeling this rubbish for much longer.
I also think too many carbs make it harder for me to loose weight too... As does my indulging in chocolate! Easter eggs are almost all gone :-)

Well, we had 3 goes at it,first go in Greece, cost about £10k in total including a 2 week holiday for us. Then I tried 2 cycles at a Czech clinic which was cheaper at about £4.5k a go but no success even though I'm 31 and fall pregnant first try naturally. Got an average amount of eggs but none were good enough for testing. I've spent the last 2 years fitting in as much extra work as I could without sacrificing seeing the kids and just got to the point where I'd had enough of working so much, stressing about it, and saving so hard. I've decided that I want to relax and enjoy my family time and want a baby, even if it's another boy. But I'm glad I tried Ht as it means I can now sway and feel like I have done all I can and hopefully won't get any gender disappointment

Squigglepink are you seriously thinking about going ht? If I was younger I would do another ht cycle but go to the Czech this time. My problem was the opposite to chocolate in that I got a nice amount of eggs and always two of my desired gender to transfer but they never stuck. 5 cycles down the line, lots of immune testing to produce no good eggs on my final cycle when I have an immune protocol in place. It's not an easy way out by all means but if you can do it I would say go ahead but choose your clinic carefully! Feel free to pm me if you want any details.
I actually fine swaying a tad harder than ht but that's just my opinion.

That sounds so good beautiful rainbow!!
Well done XX :) can you remind me what we are meant to be sticking to for fat, protein and carbs please? I could check but am being lazy lol. On my fitness pal it gives you percentages of each, do you know what they're meant to be?
Not sure what am doing for lunch today yet but I stole a couple of chocolate buttons to have with my coffee this morning. Might make more cinnamon swirls since we have the stuff in for them. My boys have a play date and they're having melted choc with marshmallows and fruit xx

Don't track carbs. Calories 1500-1800, protein 40-50g, fat 40-50g. Can go up to 60g for both if need be. Just don't go lower than 40g for both as that can stop ovulation.

I adopt the 80/20 rule. 80% healthy and 20% sweets/junk. The LE diet is too restrictive to not have some sweets/junk to make it tolerable!

Hi - it only dawned on me today that i should actually look in to it before just ruling it out and assuming its not affordable nor an option for us! Ive spent most of the day searching clinics and options, all very costly and still the risk of not getting a BFP first cycle and we dont have an endless pot of money.. I have not chatted to my DH about it yet - he's not exactly desperate for a daughter he just knows it would be nice. But im not sure if he's willing to spend allot of money on something that may or may not take even though the guarantee of a daughter is there.. vs trying naturally and ending up with 3rd boy.
We dont seem to have fertility issues and fall preg in under 6 months. Although i am 39 now so dont know if it might take us a while now.. but thanks for your feedback/info i will deffo be in touch for details (if my DH is ok with HT which i dont think he will be) x

I think it's worth discussing... But how would you feel if Ht didn't work and then time.had passed and you couldn't get pregnant naturally? I honestly thought at my age, it would work easily for me, but it didn't. However I am glad I tried but that was after 3 children and enough time to have another naturally after if it failed.

Can someone remind me of the girl friendly fruit and veg. Thinking of trying to get some magnesium in, so maybe I should try a bit of green spinach and kale salad, with roasted carrot/mushrooms, sweetcorn? Feta cheese? With some green grapes and yoghurt?

That's the thing with HT isn't it, still no guarantees just that if all DOeS go to plan, then it should be guaranteed a girl. There's no way we could afford it and no way hubby would go along with it, plus the barriers of being within Europe. Funnily enough, my dh has openly admitted that had our boys been girls, he would be the one pushing the issue of "trying again", yet even so, he won't commit to this for me at the moment, he's still "thinking about it". So I'm just cracking on with swaying as it requires so much preparation time in terms of diet and exercise in the hope that he comes on board with it...
Diet wise today has been shocking, I just let myself go in the end as I've not been myself today so needed to do what I needed to to get through the day. Feeling better now though x

I hate to be a negative nelly but at 39 the odds of getting pregnant via HT with one attempt are really, really slim. Unfortunately age is the number one thing and it doesn't even matter how fast you've conceived with prev. conceptions, 35 and up it's a whole new ball game and the older ou get, the worse your chances. I think it is more illuminating to answer this question - which feels worse to you, walking away with no money and no baby (because by the time you do all the HT stuff you may end up unable to conceive naturally and YES this has happened to people) or walking away with the money and an opposite. Worst case scenarios

:agree: if we had had 4 girls and my husband had wanted a boy (which he would have, and he even had a weird kind of boy GD with our 3rd because our first two are not sporty boy-boys like he always was) I would have been FRANTIC to make it happen for him. I would have done anything for that to happen. But it felt like for me it was like "eh get over it" and he didn't care at all. :/

If you were asking me - i would say my tickets booked, i fly to the US tmw :).. If you were asking my DH - he would say lets just stay as we are, happy days!!
But Yes - on a serious note - i didtn realise my age throws a spanner! Probably just as well because we would have to wait for some time before going HT anyway.. we have too much going and and too much to pay for, to chuck in HT as well! But im glad you spotted this post, so thanks for mentioning because you know us girls can get caught up in all this and before you know it we've spent two days researching and the money is spent :sigh:

If we had 2 girls, id be swaying for a boy now - no doubt about it!

Hello girls. Just want to share my average diet: 5.30 or 6.30 am: Instant coffee with skimmed milk and sweetener.

First meal at 9.30: Bowl of rice with vegetables or yoghurt and a toast with low fat spread butter or cheese and a cup of coffee with full fat milk and sugar.

Second meal at 13.00: Bowl of rice or quinoa with vegetables and salat.

Third and last meal at 17.30: Rice or potatoes or quinoa with tons of stir fried or baked vegetables (usually broccoli, brussels sprout, cauliflower, carrots, pointed cabbage, spinach, beetroot, reed and green peppers). At dinner I sometimes eat a tiny amount of meat, most white meat like chicken or turkey and fish.

If I am low at kcals I eat a banana, an apple, drink some white wine, some sodas, chocolate, rice milk, coconut water or more rice. I like that the diet allows me to eat almost everything as long as I stay within the limits. I have almost eliminated black earl grey tea from my diet - something I loved to drink before. Instead I drink coffee - around four cups a day. If I'm hungry between meals I take a cup of coffee or a diet coke.

I usually do my 60 min. cardio first thing in the morning or at lunch break. At 21 I become very tired (and sometimes hungry) and go to bed. I know that lack of sleep sway pink but I need my 7-8 hours of sleep to be able to do the cardio, diet, full time job, doing home work and taking care of my kids. I often feel it is a challenging puzzle to fit in the one hour daily cardio, but I have managed so far to make it a major priority without taking time away from kids.

Hi Dreamsister, thanks for sharing, helps to know others are doing this with us :-) Your days certainly start early, I don't get up till 7am and am usually asleep by 1030pm! Well done for fitting in exercise as well as working full time and having the kids, it's not easy when combining it with dieting. However, your busy lifestyle may make for a fab girl sway :-) :-)

Thanks chocolate. Yes, I am quite busy and often don't have time to follow or write comments here on the site. However we do have an au pair living with us who do all the cooking, household, grocery shopping ect. She is saving me for a lot of daily work and thanks to her make it possible for us to spend time with the kids and exersice for instance. Also I often work from my home office, which allows me to go for a one hour walk at lunch. But it is certainly a challenge to catch up on everything specially while swaying.

That's great you have some help at home, I've had to try and reduce my working hours to take some pressure off to actually be less over loaded to sway. Fitting in exercise seems to be the hardest part for me as the diet makes me feel quite weak. Not sure I could carry on working full time whilst feeling weak and low blood sugar levels. Maybe being so busy for you will take your mind off of swaying, which helps for a girl sway :-)

Good that you are able to reduce your working hours. I am not over-stressed because I do have help and often work from home, but I don't have time to anything else. Hey Ladies, may I ask to chime in?! I am on CD 7, planning to ttc this month! I skipped last month because O was more then a week late and I couldn't keep up the good job on the diet any longer. I started to ttc a year ago but skipped many cycles and had a miscarriage in between so in total only 6 month actually ttc -but definitely enough to be sick of the diet. I used to be sooo strict, 17 hours fasting and only 2 meals a day, but I can't keep it up anymore.
I started having a coffee with little skimmed milk in the morning-you think that is fine? And I have a meal at noon ( low fat plain yogurt with strawberrys, sweetened with Canderell , one at 4pm ( Salad most of the time) and a light dinner like plain whole grain spaghetti with ruccola und some cheese or something like that at 7pm. I still avoid snacking, only sipping coke zero and water or peppermint tea in between meals and having one or two glasses of wine or Prosecco every other evening. BUT sometimes I eat a peace of chocolate with my meal, or a cookie and the biggest change is the coffee in the morning-but it is a life saver so I think I will keep having it.

Hi and welcome mydaughter. Nice to have a new member to this thread. I also have coffee with milk (sometimes skimmed and sometimes medium or full fat milk plus sweetener) in the morning - actually I have 2-3 cups. I is a life saver for me. I think you better be eating 3-4 meals in total or eat more, so you are able to keep up the diet. I think Atomic says the diet is supposed to be easy to stick to.

Hi mydaughter! Well, re bagels I think as they are low within the limits and quote filling, some of us choose to have them. Mine have been in the freezer so need using up! I had 1 1/2 bagels toasted this morning with a very thin smearing of peanut butter and topped with banana again. Lunch was a whole meal wrap with half a run of tomatoes, an egg and 20g of cheese followed by half a peanut kitkat! Not ideal for le I know but I feel it helps me keep on track more if I allow myself the treats within the limits as quite a few of you have said! Not sure what I'm doing for dinner, possibly veggie curry as I shoved that in the slow cooker this am!x

Hi mydaughter, nice to have some more people joining us, can't imagine being on this diet for so long, I almost want to drop the rephresh etc. To get pregnant right away so I can eat my usual meals :-)

Today I had skinny popcorn and a small salad with some feta pasta which I didn't like so only ate half and a naughty slice of lemon drizzle cake in a cafe but kept within limits easily. I've had an early tea of 2 slices of toast and grapes.
Just cooking for the family a chicken and Butterbean casserole with roast potatoes and Yorkshires...
Not sure I can resist one potato and Yorkshire! Will be having a glass or 2 of wine this evening and have managed to keep my fat percentage within the goal today! :-)

So yummy but not buying anymore till after our attempt as I feel my diet has suddenly included more nutrients as I was just eating carbs like bread and bagels but now I'm eating salads with cous cous and spices/raisins etc. So probably should cut that out for now and stick at my plain carbs, worried my body will think times are improving if I suddenly eat these things so close to my cycle!

I ate pasta and rice when I swayed with ds3 so wanted to avoid that and do something different. I guess bread does have some nutrients in as wholemeal so maybe salads won't hurt too much if I don't load them with nutrient rich foods. Stick to just mixed leaves and cucumber and sweetcorn with a bit of cous cous

Hi everyone

I feel a total failure at swaying! The fact that I have to watch what I eat makes me think about it all day which makes me hungry all the time! I can make it to 12 without anything, I find it easier if I am out of the house. I don't know if having an iceberg and cucumber salad with light dressing is the right thing to do or the fact that it's healthy veg is actually too many nutrients?! It then takes serious willpower to get to dinner which I can never decide on because of nutrient content! I literally sound like such a mess!! Before swaying when I conceived my boys I was quite healthy, very low carb, lots of fresh veg/salad/fruit and meat and fish, some dairy. Although quite a few treats thrown in for good measure! But I have always been very active exercise wise so I allowed them.

My instinct is telling me to be the opposite of before, so loads of carbs and limited veg etc. But I'm not sure if this is right. I know I barely have any protein these days, probably moderate fat within the limits. I just worry about it all the time, that's probably why I have stopped losing any weight! Thinking about it too much!

I wanted to do my first attempt in May, and want to make sure I don't have any what ifs!

Do you have my fitness pal? I have recently started meal planning on there for a few days so I have a diet I can stick to and it takes the thinking out of it. I don't think swaying necessarily means doing the opposite of what we did when we conceived our boys but it's about lowering overall maternal condition and also there are other sway factors you can put in such as certain lubes or hubby taking supplements such as OLE or LR (depending on age etc).
Today I skipped breakfast then had carrots, tortillas and hummus for lunch xx

Davesig4 that's exactly my line of thought when I first started doing this and I couldn't get my head around what to do for the best and over thinking it. Do I go down the lots of empty carb and sugar route or do I go the healthier wholegrain and lots of veg route. I tried the first but put weight on and my immune problems flared so I've gone the veg route. You've got to remember even if you are eating lettuce and cucumber for lunch and a plate of free veg and grains for dinner you are not getting loads of protein and fat in your diet like if you were eating burger and fries.
I find it easier to have the same few meals with very little nutrients in for lunch then for dinner I have a set of about 14 meals that I have which I buy the ingredients for at the beginning of the week so I know what I'm having. I also have some biscuits in that are the lowest fat and sugar I can find and if I'm struggling and need something sweet I have a few. I have a king prawn curry every Saturday night but with wholegrain rice and a small bag of maltesers and that's my treat but within my limits. Sunday's my hardest day so for Sunday dinner I have loads of free veg with gravy then whatever I like Sunday evening as another treat. This gets me through the diet in the week knowing I'm not going to be miserable at the weekend. It's just finding what works for you. Try not to worry hun like mulberry said its other factors that sway too.

I got a boy eating rubbish! I was working a stressful job and are way too many empty carbs and sweets! Ironically, no snacking between meals and couch potato. I also got a boy leading the classic healthy lifestyle but grazing like us boys moms tend to do.

Remember that there is a range of what works. If empty carbs causes you to gain weight, but you don't want to give them up completely then cut back on them. I have adopted the 80/20 rule- 80% healthy and 20% empty carbs/sweets. This way I am eating differently than with all 3 of my boys but it also allows me to lose weight slowly too.

Davesig4, you're doing great! Hang in there!!

This weekend I realized that the LE diet has officially become second nature for me!

Yesterday I had cheese pizza for dinner but only ate a slice and had a large salad with a glass of wine! We had friends over and I tend to eat more in a group setting. I started with a half a slice and went back for another half a slice.

Then today my DH wanted fried chicken. I needed more protein as I've been low lately and haven't had meat in forever. I could afford to have a whole chicken breast and not go over my limits. I couldn't even eat all of it! I had to give half to my DH to finish!

I realized then and there that this diet is now ingrained in me and is second nature! Thank goodness! I feel like I have a MUCH better shot at giving my DH a DD this time around!!

It is dried, refined wheat meal that you add water to and heat to make a runny-type porridge. It's an alternative to oatmeal that doesn't have the nutrients. I like it with a pinch of sliced almonds sometimes and adding strawberries to it to make it have texture and taste, haha!
