View Full Version : Had an OOPS last night in the middle of our girl sway. Safe to stay on the diet through TWW?

So, this is my fertile week. Hubby and I DTD last night and even though we discussed skipping TTC this month, he pulled out a little late. :worry: He feels terrible!
I've been on the girl diet for a few weeks now and I'm super concerned about staying on it through the TWW. If I'm not pregnant, I don't want to miss two good weeks of dieting. If I am, I don't want to risk any harm to the baby during a crucial time. Any advice? What is the safest way to proceed? I am on 1200mcg folic acid but no other supplements, and obviously my blood sugar and nutrients are low atm. Sorry if the answer to this has been posted before, I have to go to work and I'm so concerned about what I should even eat today!

Stay on the diet until you get your BFP, then slowly add in more nutrient foods. I made myself sick by eating how I used to right off the bat! You want to continue the diet in case of a BFN- you don't want to undo all of your hard work!
Folic acid continue through the first trimester, then gradually wean off. Do this even though you will be adding in a prenatal.
FX and GL to you!

I want everyone to stay on diet till BFP and I do NOT want you guys going off and on diet in 2ww. Our results show CLEARLY that 12 weeks or more on diet is most effective and this is not 2w on, 2 w off.
Before you get BFP your baby is not getting nutrients from you at all, at least not directly. It absorbs what it needs from the fluids in your fallopian tubes and uterus and makes a little yolk sac as well. The human body is very good at getting pregnant and it evolved for hundreds of thousands of years most of which time humans and their ancestors were existing on half a rotten mango and whatever the hyenas left behind.
The LE Diet is based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization for a healthy pre-pregnancy diet for all women of childbearing age. You are NOT eating a restrictive diet if you're doing LE Diet, you're eating a NORMAL diet. We honestly eat way more than we need to and are really kind of OVERnourished.
At BFP you have more than enough time to begin eating normally, start a prenatal, etc. You should keep doing what you're doing, if you are dying for a cheat, have one, but you do not need to eat as if you're 6 months pregnant when your baby is the size of the period at the end of this sentence. :)

:agree: and I do want to mention when you gals get BFP, i know the urge is to have a pig-out fest but you may want to ease into in esp. with sodium if you were limiting it, and also protein. It's fine to have it, just don't go 0 to 60 in one single meal and have the entire McDonald's value menu or anything. Just give your body a chance to get used ot it again.
