My OB has decided to give me Clomid. Sorry if this is a repeat question but I need to make sure I have my info correct…. (I have read the essay)
I DO NOT have PCOS and HAVE NEVER had a problem TTC (but I told my OB that I am just to get the RX for Clomid)
Here’s my plan please let me know what might need to be changed/ modified…. Please also let me know if some of these sway tactics have been changed or outdated
About Me
Age: 38
BMI: around 19
Diet: Plan to do LE diet as long as possible, Diet drinks and Sugar
Supplements: Clomid and Fiber only?
Exercise: Couch potato
I’m already at my lowest adult weight, I can’t lose any more weight I just have to maintain
Hubby
Age: 48
Will eliminate meat when he can
Will take fiber and OLE
Will be doing FR
Some questions I have:
Does the big O seem to matter anymore since we don’t focus on PH?
Still stick with one attempt on month 1?
Timing still doesn’t matter?
Testosterone still matter? I believe I have low Testosterone , I only get about 5 hrs of sleep per night (for the past yr)
I need to use Probiotics (Culturelle) to prevent BV, about 5 days out of each month. How much do probiotics really sway and why? (BTW I had 2 sons on probiotics and 2 sons off them)
What are the real stats on swaying with Clomid for NON PCOS moms on this site?
Anything else I am forgetting?

Big O probably doesn't matter, it's one of those things that seems harmless so I allow it to hang around but you don't need to if you don't want. I got my girl with Big O.
:agree: first month on Clomid I'd try for one attempt.
Timing doesn't matter.
Testosterone is a gray area, it doesn't matter anyway if you think your T is low! All good.
5 days out of the month for probiotics no worries. We don't know why they sway, the idea is that they help your body absorb nutrients and even make some nutrients on their own. It was one of those things that surprised us in our results, since they were said to sway so strongly pink. We track our results differently than "the other guys" and can see more clearly one thing in isolation. It was the only supplement that has ever gotten worse than 50-50 results meaning not only was it not helping pink sways, it was even swaying blue. But these were people taking it daily and they did NOT need it for health - you do and so the rules are different.
Clomid is at 75% and has been for years. Since PCOSers may be more set for blue than the population as a whole, this means it may be even a stronger pink sway if you don't have PCOS.

Hi, are there any rules for clomid? Like taking Af to O? etc..
AND - DH taking fiber - this a good idea for pink sway?
Thanks for your post sgharrison

I'm taking it cd 3- cd7, so 5 days. I take it before i go to bed, so the sideaffects don't bother me so much.

Hi Dreamgirl - what sideeffects do you get if i may ask? A friend of mine had terrible side effects and had to stop taking. (ended up with a boy but 1st baby and wasn't swaying)

Yes you have to take it as prescribed!!! 5 days ONLY CD 3-7 or 4-8 or 5-9
If DH takes fiber, may help, can't hurt. No hard data on that tho

Hot flashes, headaches, bad O pains, poor uterine lining and hostile CM (the last two are usually only after several months)

Squigglepink, sorry for the late anwser.. It makes me a little cranky, wich i really don't like! And some Hot flashes too. If i take it before bedtime, the sideaffects bother me less. I read this somewhere else and it works for me.

I feel like I have the flu for 10-12 days, no joke. Feverish, sweaty, chills, headache, migraines, extreme crippling fatigue. It is one of the most unpleasant meds I've ever taken. I was very dry the first cycle on it, but plenty wet my second cycle on it. I felt a lot of ovarian activity leading up to O but my actual O pain was much milder than in natural cycles.
Clomid can be taken from anywhere between CD1 and CD5 for 5 days. Sometimes it it is taken for fewer or more days but those are special cases. 50mg is generally the lowest dose and 150mg the highest, 100mg in between. It is usually prescribed at one of those 3 doses.
