Hi there!

I've been lurking the boards for a bit and finally decided to post! I have 2 boys ages 3 and 1 and we are going to have one more baby and I'm
Hoping for a girl. I'm 30 my DH is 31 I'm 5'6 and 125 pounds. My cycles are morally 30 days with ovulation around day 18(I charted for years as births control) when I conceived my boys we had lots of sex before on and after ovulation. I was 134 pounds both times I conceived and was exercising a bit! I'm weaning my 1 year who is just nursing once before bed now. This last month I've taken ovulation tests everyday and have not gotten a positive at all!!? Im on day 20 of my cycle and feeling very crampy and my temp dipped on day 18 but hasn't significantly risen.... So I'm
Not sure what's going on. I'm wondering if it's because I've been eating differently I usually eat huge breakfasts but I've been eating dinner at 5pm and then not eating breakfast until 9 and doing a
Smoothie!! We plan to officially try next cycle and I'm not sure how to do it!!? I've gotten the impression 1 attempt is best?! But if I don't catch my surge then I won't know when this is. My first I got pregnant with no positive ovulation test that cycle) 3 cycles to get pregnant and my second we got pregnant the first try. So what I'm wondering is after my period do I start having sex every 2-4 unprotected or protected? And then when/if I get a positive o test them just do it once unprotected and then wait??

Sorry this is so long I've been reading so many old threads and I'm just trying to put together the best plan for me!! Thanks!

I would BD unprotected every 4 days all cycle long. It's getting great results for pink and ensures you have a good shot at conception no matter when you O. In your particular case I might wait to TTC - have you been on the diet a full 12w? If not I'd wait until you have.

Every 2 days would sway boy, so definitely stick with every 4 days as soon as AF ends.

I have been on the diet about 12 weeks I have hypoglycaemia so the low blood sugar has been really hard on me. I feel extremely nauseous and dry heave a lot if I'm not getting enough protien. Due to my husbands work schedule we really need to have a baby due date between Jan-April so we are going to start trying this next cycle just in case it takes a couple try's! I understand that the longer I'm on the diet the better shot of a girl but I'm ok with the risk it might not work! I'd just like to up my shot as much as possible.

So I'll BD every 4 days and then hopefully on of those BD is in my fertile time. So if we BD 2 days before positive O test do I still baby dance 4 days later( that's being 2 days past the positive ovulation test or do I immediately try once when we get the positive test?

Thanks!

Hi! I'm also new, and have been lurking for about a month. I'm 27 and my dh is 30 and this will be our first and only child (most likely). I found Ingender first and so I started taking calcium citrate, cranberry and folic acid for a few weeks now. I've been doing a mix of diets and have increased my dairy consumption but only by adding a low cal Greek yogurt with my lunch. Never been a big breakfast eater so that hasn't been hard to skip, I've also never been a huge meat eater so I'm just trying to be more cautious with how much chicken I do have. Typically I only have red meat a couple to a few times a month. Also, I love fake sugar! Always been a big diet soda drinker and drink crystal light and use Splenda or sweet n low a lot normally. I haven't been exercising intensely, but I'm trying to hit 10,000 steps a day by walking as much as I can and eating a low cal diet. I just finished my last birth control pack in March and I'm hoping to start ttc in May, but I'm worried this might be too soon...

I feel like I live a fairly "girl" friendly lifestyle. My dh is also on board with this as he would love to have a dd and he's taking calcium citrate/mag/, cranberry pills on occasion too. He is naturally very thin and so is not a big exerciser and I've read this actually sways pink since it ups estrogen and lowers testosterone. Anyone know?

I was drinking peppermint tea for a while but noticed my typically high bbt dropped so I'm thinking it was raising my estrogen levels? Anyone know anything about that? I'm considering saw palmetto now since I don't fully trust the tea any longer.

Sorry for the novel! I'm just excited to discuss with others that are after the same goal. I lost my mother as a young teen and I want to have a daughter so bad, but I feel like people in my life think I'm crazy so I've stopped talking to people about it. Just excited to finally chat with others.

You should definitely try this cycle in that case. Just BD every 4 days all cycle long regardless of when you get pos OPKs (the whole point of E4D is that it doesn't rely on OPKs). So if you BDed 2 days before you got your first pos OPK, wait the full 2 more days before BDing again. Otherwise you could sway blue with multiple attempts. You can absolutely conceive from BD 3-4 days before O and you may just as likely end up with BD 1-2 days before which is optimal odds. Regardless you will have a good chance at pregnancy.

Misty, can you post or link to your charts?

I am not a fan if the IG sway tactics at all and would recommend a full switch to our approach if possible. With the cardio, make sure it's a full hour minimum of uninterrupted exercise at least 6 days a week. Less than an hour of exercise and non-daily sways blue. So no exercise at al,0l is better if you can't do at least an hour daily. The exercise doesn't need to be intense in quality, brisk walkinh is great. It just needs to be long and daily.

Thank so much for answering me back!! I will try every 4 day unprotected this cycle! And hopefully I actually get a positive opk! I chart but don't know when I ovulated until after because I don't always get the temp dip on ovulation. So having my husband do frequent release won't increase our odds!!? He's 31 so could def release everyday but does this actual prove to sway pink or just release with me every 4 days is just as effective?!

Thanks again for replying I appreciate it

Sorry also to add... My 14 month old is just about weaned only 1 session a day and I'm worried that if I wean him fully this will sway. blue?! Does anyone know if that's the case or if I wean today/tomorrow that next cycle which is about 13 days away I'll be ok to try?! I weaned my first son and conceived my second son the next cycle

Frequency of release just doesn't seem to matter. I would let DH do what he likes outside of your E4D attempts. You can join him with a condom, too.

If it's not a big deal, I would keep nursing as it does sway pink. But if you really want to wean, I doubt it will make a huge difference as you are already nursing very little. And the diet etc will sway more strongly pink anyway.

O does not always or even often occur on a temp dip. More often the temp dip occurs 1-3 days, sometimes more, BEFORE O.

Ok thank
You so much! I think I'll keep this last nursing session and a little extra part for my pink sway!!

Hi and welcome Bella!

What I would have you do in this case, is a newer tactic called every 4 days. It just means that you guys have unprotected sex every 4 days starting after AF and going through till when you're SURE you have ovulated. It's getting very good results for us and is very effective in situations where people aren't getting positive OPK. :)

Yes you continue after positive OPK in case your O is delayed - this is one reason why the e4d works so well, you can't get it wrong, no matter what you're in with attempt even if the OPK are tricky.

Tell me more about your diet, there is no need to be sick and miserable on LE Diet and we can fix it so you are not feeling so bad.

We don't totally know but we believe that the effects of breastfeeding swaying pink last for months after weaning.

Thank you atomic! I actually finally got a positive ovulation test yesterday 3 actually and a negative today! My temperature dipped this morning and I'm having o pains so I finally ovulated day 24 of my style!! Usually I ovulate day 18 so I'm assuming diet may of caused this! Right now I eat breakfast around 8-9 and it's usually a smoothie made with strawberries pineapple and low fat aspartame yogurt. Lunch is random but usually a sale with lots of veggies and a balsamic vinegar. Dinner I eat whatever I make my family but there is usually a protien (chicken) lots of veggies and some sort of carb. I've stopped re meat although I never used to eat much anyways. I eat at 5:30pm and try not to eat again until breakfast. My weakness is snacking and I like salty foods like
Chips so I'm trying not to eat the salt. I take folic acid and calcium and magnesium. The calcium I've been taking because I've never had much in my diet and my joints have been sore so my dr told me to take calcium. I was dairy free when I got pregnant with both my boys. I do drink a crystal light with added fiber everyday and 2 coffees. My weights around 125ish I'm
5'6

This cycle I've had tons of ew cervical mucus. I think my body geared up around day 18 and then stopped and finally ovulated today. I had a lot of ovulation pain last week and then again today.

Would you recommend every 4 days for next cycle or can we randomly have unprotected sex form say day 5-14 and then wait for that positive test and then dtd or should I just stick with every 4 days no mater what! TIA

You don't need to limit salt at all, it doesn't sway.

I definitely recommend you BD every 4 days all cycle long and stick to it, NOT just BD as much as you like up until a certain CD, as you can't know in advance when you will O and it can change quite a bit from month to month, especially while swaying, as you've just seen. What if you Oed on CD12 next cycle after a week of BDing daily? Then you'd be in very blue territory.

Diet sounds great! FWIW, I personally doubt low calcium would cause sore joints. Have you been checked for arthritis? Also, dairy is not actually a good source of dietary calcium as the calcium in it is not well absorbed. Leafy green vegetables including broccoli are the best sources of well absorbed calcium.

Oh good I'm glad!

Most of us have totally given up on sodium. You can limit it if you want to and believe in it, but our results have only gone UP since most of us stopped doing that aspect.

It's really up to you what you do in future months - but I would NOT have random unprotected sex - what happens if you O on CD 14 next month and have just had 3 attempts???

:agree: calcium is what doctors tell people to take whenever there is unexplained bone or joint pain and the doctor doesn't feel like investigating any more. "Oh just take some calcium, it'll clear that right up" no it won't

I've had joint pain due to arthritis for 20 yrs , despite plenty of calcium (verified by bone density scans).
