Hi all! I'm new to these forums and hoping to sway pink soon. I've already asked this question on the IG forum, but these forums seem to generate more responses. So after 3 boys, DH and I have discussed trying for a girl this summer. I've been reading as much as I can on swaying and we started doing minerals and supplements and will start the diet shortly. But I started wondering about something. Dh was diagnosed with bi polar a little while back and finally started taking meds (risperidone) a few months ago for it. Now obviously, we won't be stopping or decreasing his meds irregardless of how it might affect our sway. ..we will be happy with a 4th boy if it comes to that. But I was just curious if antipsychotics affect swaying and maybe even possibly favor pink? I've read that a lot of medications seem to sway girl, so I'm wondering if this falls into that category. Of course, he wasn't on the meds when all our boys were conceived, so I hope this might work in our favor. Anyone have any experience with this or know someone who has?

Just did a quick Google search, risperidone raises prolactin levels in men which can be responsible for poor sexual function and in some cases reduced sperm count, so I would say it's girl friendly! That's according to Dr Google anyway.

Thank you familymatters! Yeah I was consulting with Dr. Google (lol) also, and it popped up with articles that also said Risperidone possibly lowers testosterone in men. It seems to be true because DH has a lot less energy than he did before starting the meds. Maybe at least I can tell him that this might possibly benefit our sway for a baby girl.

Hi and welcome! Glad you found us! I try very hard to answer all questions posted in our swaying forums within a few days usually. :)

This kind of medication sways pink and I would NOT have him take any additional sway supplements as they either cause interaction with the med. or else would lower his sperm count/quality too far.

Definitely sways pink! Most mental health meds do, for both men and women.

Thank you Atomic and everyone else! DH definitely has less energy since starting these meds (probably from lowering his testosterone), but I'm hoping that that will be a benefit for our sway.
