I can't stop thinking about this one. I've been eating a banana every day because I know its a low nutrient fruit. But can't stop thinking about the fact that it has testosterone. I've cut out meat completely. But I don't want this to ruin my sway. Should I still have a banana or another fruit or vegetable? I also have a peeled green apple everyday. Maybe I should just stick to apples and pears?

Bananas have testosterone? Never heard that one before!

Eating bananas is totally fine as long as you stick to your daily LE diet limits.

Hi Essnce. Well, I'm reading that bananas contain an enzyme called bromelain, and B vitamins and potassium that can boost your testosterone levels. Maybe one banana daily might not make a difference. But I don't know if I'm willing to take that chance. I think if I have a banana it might be weekly as opposed to daily just to be on the safe side. By the way, thank you for being so helpful with your posts in general :)

Bananas do not have testosterone and nor do they raise testosterone any more than any fruit/veg does. You can look up literally every fruit and veg and there's some wacko out there saying it raises testosterone. But if you asked a bodybuilder they would laugh. Bodybuilders eat lots of PROTEIN because that is what makes muscle. Not bananas.

Your body makes testosterone out of the foods you eat, primarily fat and cholesterol. Now, having a diet that has lots of good nutrients in it can help with this process of course (and that's why you can look up any fruit or vegetable and someone will claim it makes testosterone) but a banana a day is not going to harm anyone's sway.

If you're worried about it and feel better about apples, eat them instead.

I really recommend against going to such an extent that you're worrying over enzymes in food and swaying. The more "swaycessed" and consumed with anxiey over every little detail, this sways blue stronger than a 1000 bananas. :)

Ok.I'm working on the stress part over this. But I was only trying to be careful. I want to get this right. Because my husband and I only want two kids, more than likely. And I'm definitely not wanting to get pregnant past 35 due to the potential risks for birth defects, which are real.

They really put the fear of God into us over birth defects but the reality is that the vast majority of babies are still perfectly normal and you can conceive a baby with issues at any age.

It's not my intent to argue or put any pressure onto you at all (you do not need to even answer this!!), just that I hate to see people plan their lives around the 35 cutoff date when in reality it's not a magic light switch, your body has no way of knowing if you're 33 or 36, it's just part of a gradual decline that really doesn't even start to pick up until years after that. :)
