I had a MMC in January so my emotions are already on edge. I took a test on Wednesday and got a faint but non-squinter line on a pregnancy test with first morning urine. I took another one this morning also with first morning urine and it still looks the same. Faint but there. If my HCG is supposed to double every 48 hours shouldn't it be at least somewhat darker by now? The ladies on my "What To Expect" app are not being very encouraging. If it helps my period also wasn't scheduled to start until tomorrow.30948
Top test was Wednesday, bottom test was today.

Looks darker to me and you can't go by that anyway.

Honey, please try and relax. The darkening of tests do not always tell you how your HCG levels are rising. Anything from urine concentration, time of taking the test, individual test variance within normal limits from the same pack, etc. can contribute to tests not darkening.
If you're worried, go and have your betas drawn at your OB's office and then redrawn 48hrs later. This, and only this, can tell you what your HCG levels are doing.
FX for you! Hang in there sweetie!!

See this is why I love you ladies! I do plan to ask my OB for testing but he closes early on Fridays so I have to wait to call until Monday.

Those tests in particular do not necessarily get darker.

What xxforhubby said is exactly right. With my ds2, my lines were so faint that I just kept testing everyday because I wasn't sure if I was imagining a positive. The lines didn't get darker on any sort of predictable schedule, they varied a bit. I had a normal pregnancy and a healthy 10 month old now.

That is very encouraging, thank you!

Really?
Yep..those first response ones can be whacky particularly if they have the curved handle.

They do have the curved handle! I totally hate that they do but our stores don't carry the other ones anymore.

The variations in hormones in your urine at this point of pregnancy mean that you can have darker and then lighter tests. That is ok. You CANNOT tell viability of pregnancy on the basis of that.
The only time pregnancy tests ever tell you anything is when you have a quite dark test that suddenly nearly vanishes. That is concerning, but at this stage of pregnancy it is meaningless and both those tests look normal to me for this gestation.

The second does look slightly darker to me. And with those tests, I found a better result with SMU rather than first

I have been freaking myself out about the same thing!! Got a positive on a digital saying 2-3 weeks yesterday then stupidly bought some cheapies and got a much fainter line than I expected. It's so hard not to worry but both those frers show quite clear lines to me. When is af due? If you are testing earlier remember they won't be so dark
Based on the 30 day cycles I've been having AF was due today (and didn't come) but Fertily Friend says tomorrow based on when I ovulated so we will see what tomorrow brings.

Thank you Atomic! That really does help my stress level a lot. Do you think they should eventually get darker like around 5 weeks or does that not really always happen either?

Yes it was FMU with at least a 6-7 hour hold. :/

My OB is sending out for blood work since I'm not bleeding, guess we shall see how it goes.

I'm sorry to hear that, but just for future reference it's not because the first two tests didn't get darker, so if that happens again please don't panic.
If the pregnancy is ending it is usually very quick with chemicals so hopefully within the next day or so. I will say, I'm not totally sure you're out.
