I have my ultasound in 1 hr to see the little bambino and I'm so nervous. I can't calm down! Praying he baby is healthy first, and then praying for dd. I'm so scared of gd. And just praying that il be happy no matter what. I swayed hard so praying it was worth it.

So it looks like a boy. I'm sad but not devastated. I didn't get any nub shots she did a potty shot and said boy. Although, I know it's silly but I'm trying not to hang onto hope, but she was the same ultrasound tech that told my friend she was having a boy and at 18 week anatomy scan it was a girl. I know it's silly. I asked for a nub shot but she didn't believe in the theory and couldn't get one with the parts. So frustrated!! Baby is looking healthy so that's good. I just wish I could have the dd I longed for :(

I'm so sorry you didn't hear pink [emoji20]. That definitely looks like a boy to me. Give yourself some time.

Huge hugs

I'm sorry you didn't hear girl. With DS2 I wanted a daughter so bad that I was in complete denial he was a boy despite having a clear potty shot at 16 weeks. I think I just wasn't ready to let go of my dream yet. It's okay to feel sad...it just takes time.

I guess I may be wrong, but I wouldn't put any stock in that picture. It's a potty shot at 12 weeks. Personally I would have only thought boy based on a boy nub and even that isn't 100%. I'm not trying to give false hope here, just saying don't lose all faith based on a 12 week potty shot.

I replied in your other thread, but I would never trust a potty shot at 12 weeks. That's why we only look at nubs shots on here at that gestation.

Thank you for responding I thought if I did a separate post someone would have seen a similar imagine or experience. Il try to delete one!

I'm over here wondering who would ever give you a definitive answer on a 12w potty shot in a medical setting! A 12w nub wouldn't even be super accurate!

I don't put any faith in potty shots at this stage and I'd say nub actually looks girly.

12 weeks is way too early! All my boys had a visible scrotum and penis by 13w for one, and 13w5d for the last two.

I would prepare to hear boy, but I would suspend all judgement until your anatomy scan.

FX for you!

I didn't realize the gestation when I commented earlier on your other thread. For some reason I thought it was a later gestation.

THIS times 100000000

When techs do this, I have GRAVE doubts in their abilities and knowledge. They should not be guessing at this stage and that is what they are TAUGHT because it's a biological fact.

She doesn't believe in nub but giving you a potty shot at 12 weeks. Okaaaayyyyyy....

It's too early to say on this and under normal circumstances I would never guess this soon but that looks girly to me. Can absolutely still rise tho.

Traci25
May 5th, 2016, 02:41 PM
Thank you for your responses and help, when would rise take place? I'm 12 +1 day but measuring length 12+6.

Thank you again I know your swamped!

atomic sagebrush

Rise occurs in 12-13th week.

Nub looks very girly, but it's early at 12w2d so it could still rise. The potty shot means nothing, as both genders have an identical protuberance at 12w. What an ignoramus, telling you boy based on that! I wouldn't assume either gender yet as it could still go either way. But you definitely have hope for a girl!

maidentomother
May 5th, 2016, 03:17 PM
Oh, if you're measuring almost 13w, then you have a great shot at a girl based on the nub IMO. I give a ffirm girl guess!

I thought so to I asked how sure and she was sarcastic. She was wrong with my neighbor at 12 weeks, she said 95% boy and was girl. I think she did potty shot as well. Thank you so much!

Is that stacking below what I think is the nub ( long white
Line)? Some people are round and smooth that have girly shots. I'm trying to learn! You guys are so good!

foxymrsg
May 5th, 2016, 03:59 PM
I'd lean girl with that nub shot! Good luck I think your tech was very rude! How ridiculous to say she doesn't believe in the nub theory! Yet then gives you a potty shot at 12 weeks! Madness! Fingers still firmly crossed for you!

You can't have stacking below a nub, only on top. I don't see either on your nub, it's completely free of stacking in that pic.

I don't understand either, she said she only looks at potty imagines all others are a myth, but gave me a 95% of boy at exactly 12 week potty. Il have to wait a month! Ugh!!

Nub shot at 12 weeks even is not going to be reliable though. It could still rise. Like I said before the nub that you have, it's certainly not boyish at this point, but it's so early that it could still go up.

In early pregnancy (first tri) it's gestation, gestation, gestation. All babies develop in a similar way day by day - they grow certain features and that's what they're busy doing in that first trimester, so it's relatively easy to pin down how far along you are on the basis of ultrasound measurement. IT's only once the main development is over with and then baby starts to add pounds and inches of height that genetic variability begins to show.

They have no accountability for anything they say, so they can say anything and never get in trouble for it. Many doc's offices won't even allow them to guess till 18 weeks because there are so many incorrect gender guesses before that point.

Great points, I keep obsessing over 12 week u/a photos and cAnt find anything similar. But what you said is the fact it's gestation, babies are differnt and grow differently. And no matter how hard I look it is whatnot is. Boy or girl. I've never swayed bf and didn't know of gd until
My last son. I cried for weeks. Wanting a dd desperately. But like you all say he is my everything. I have to relax. And if it's a boy know it's ok to mourn the loss of
A dd that won't be and know il love him like the others. No mater what this is the finale!! I feel so blessed to not be alone on this experience, you women on this site are such a blessing. When I start getting anxiety of what will
Be I get on and feel connected to amazing people! Thank you!

And regards to the tech I agree. She looked at me so condensendingly, she said something like "can't you tell that's
A penis?" So I stopped asking questions. She made me feel
SO stupid for questioning her. At least you made me feel like I was in the right

I never understand why people like that work in jobs that involve personal contact. If you don't want to help people and don't enjoy interacting with others, get a different job!
