Hi guys, I know its awful but I have my heart set a girl and we DTD days before I ovulated to help our chances. What do you think and can you explain why? :)
These are pics from my 12week+2 scan. I'm now 14+3 and dying to know.

I've had a look at a number of tests and theory's:

Nub theory: Girl (I can only see a tiny thing)
Skull theory: Boy
Mayan Calendar: Girl
Salty or Sweet : Girl Prefer Sweet BUT I'm not craving either salty or sweet food so I guess its inconclusive.
Sickness or no sickness: Girl
Baking Soda test: Boy
Ring test: Girl
Soft or Dry Skin: Boy
Spotty or Glow: Girl
Leg hair growth. Faster or Same: Girl
Dull or Bright Urine: Girl
Sleeping on Right or Left: Boy (But I've only slept on this side as its recommended to stop sickness. I prefer my right!)

Can anybody thing of any more? :P

I've tried two Chinese chart generators (using luna age / month) one said girl the other said boy.

Not great pics, I only see a nub in the 2nd one. While flat it looks maybe a bit stacked to me so I would lean boy. I hope it's a girl though!

Also, timing doesn't sway at all, just FYI.

Oh!

I did a lot of research into spermys etc (lol) and found out female sperm is more hardy than male sperm, but male sperm is faster. So DTD days before ovulation would mean the male sperms die off and leaving more female sperm, ready and waiting for that little egg to be released. I did my LH tests for a few months and again the month we wanted to convince, so knew exactly when I was ovulating. We also tried the position suggested for a girl (shallow penetration) again giving the female sperm a better chance.

I wanted a Halloween baby and a little girl so I new I had to DTD on a specific day to get that date. If it didn't happen then we were just going to try everyday over ovulation the next month. I wasn't sure if we managed it but my scan confirmed how far I was and it meant I'm due on 31st October! Now I know only 10% of babies are born on their due date, but I'm going to give it a go! :P Also going off all the apps and sites doing it on that day would also result in a higher chance of a girl. So double win.

Now just have to wait and see if I get my girl!

This is my first and obviously I'll be grateful for which ever, but I'd really like a little girl first.

There is no difference in spped or longevity between X and Y sperm. That is a myth that has been debunked and disproven many times over in numerous studies. It was never proven to begin with or based on any evidence either.

Also, OPKs cannot determine O day. All they do is tell you when your LH levels are high. You can O 1, 2, 3 or more days after a positive OPK or even not at all. The only way to determine the exact day of O is by ultrasound after the fact. It is IMPOSSIBLE to determine when you will O in advance to the day.

Position does not sway either, and those apps that predict O are crap.

Diet, exercise, number of attempts in your fertile period, and Clomid & Femara are what sway significantly. Diet foremost. But NOT the diets you've most likely read about elsewhere.

I truly hope you have a girl but if you don't, I suggest you read up on swaying the GD way. Only nub theory and the new blood tests can predict gender early on with any accuracy though blood tests are much more accurate than nub guessing naturally! So I wouldn't read anything into all those are gender prediction methods.

Nothing outside of nub theory is accurate (sickness, even, just has to do with hyperemesis gravidarum SLIGHTLY increased in girl pregnancies).

What was your diet and exercise like before conceiving? That's way more helpful than old wives tales.

Case in point: All my OWTs point boy. I'm having a girl, and followed a very "girl" lifestyle.

Slight boy lean, perhaps some stacking there, but not the best pics. I would say 60% boy from me. Sorry to say, but just about everyone seems to be wanting a girl, so a lot of people are going to not get what they wanted, you might be one of them. I hope you get what you wish for, but I'm sure you'll be fine with a boy too!

I'm leaning girl... although the pictures are not very clear. Would you be very disappointed if you had a boy? because I had gender disappointment with my 3rd but I wouldn't change him for the world!

Those's 'test's & theory's' were nothing more than a bit of fun! :)

As for diet and exercise... Despite suffering from Fibromyalgia and bad arthritis.. I work 50+ hours a week in a physically demanding job. I get all my exercise done there lol
I am on my feet for 12+ hours a day and walk between 25,000 / 32,000 steps a day around the shop. So that's what, 12 / 16 miles a day. On top of that I pull a lot of pallets weighing over a ton and do lots of heavy lifting. All this helps keep me slim and actually helps with my illness. if i stop moving I go stiff and the pain starts. Im also pretty active at home. Walk my cat every day and swim once a week.

Diet wise I just eat a lot of sweet and sugary food.. I need the bursts of energy to help me get through the day with my illness. Not a pop drinker but lots of sweet juices.

How did you deal with that? I think I will be a little..

Both me and my OH want just one child and it be a girl. He's said if we don't get one he's willing to give it another go (lol).
Just with my illness I'm worried I wont be able to cope with two children? I dont know.. Since I was little I dreamed of having my own little girl. At 18 I was ready but miscarried at 21... I haven't been able to get pregnant since and we decided to give it another shot. I started going a lot of research, did the ovulation tests, took a lot of supplements... and bang. I'm now 28 and have been terrified of losing it. So yeah in the long run I will be happy, cause I got a baby after everything. But I dont know if it will happen again...

I don't know how I dealt with it really!! I'll be honest and I came home after my scan and cried I was so disappointed! Took me quite a while to accept it and when I finally gave birth the love I felt for him was instant and it made all the disappointment go away! Honestly gender disappointment is horrible but you can and will accept it in your own time and enjoy your little one whatever the gender xx

Unfortunately, your diet and lifestyle sound extremely boy friendly. Autoimmune conditions also tend to sway blue. Good news is you can always do a GD pink sway next time if need be. 2 kids is way better than 1 anyway! I understand though about the physical/health challenges, I'm still determined to try for 4...if I can ever get pregnant again. And I'm 35!

How did you get your cat to walk? I would love to get my crazy active younger cat to walk with me!

Oh easy! She's a Bengal so she's a bit more like a dog than a cat :giggle: But you can get any cat lead trained. Being young it should be easier for you to train! Get a harness and pop it on kitty for 5 mins a day in the house, just so they get used to it. They'll flop around on the floor a bit and act like something heavy is on its back but build it up to 10 mins... then longer till its happy with it on. May take a little time but it will happen! Then clip on your lead and stand with kitty with the door open. Might scare them or shock them at first but once they get brave enough they'll walk out. Never push them out! Then again, 5 mins in the garden to start, so they get used to smells then a little further each time.

Mine now knows the walk root and knows which house is hers, so I know she knows how to get back if she escapes one day lol.

She also plays fetch, opens doors. Sits, jumps up and does paw ^_^ Trying to teach her to roll over atm haha

She already goes outside and is pretty fearless except she seems to not always see well (some sort of congenital vision defect, I think; she's always running into things!), and that can occasionally make her shy. But I'd like to get her to go on trail walks through the woods, if possible? She's just a standard short hair but has an extremely doglike personality (she fetches also) and is very easy going but also VERY althketic and energetic. She is 9mo but my almost 7yr old cat is very annoyed by her following her, wanting to play etc.
