I used to eat Salads everyday usually it consisted of spinach, onion, tomato, cucumber, chick peas, nuts, and avocado. Sometimes Id add cheese and croutons and chicken. Anyways I realize how high fat and high protein my salads were. I am trying to come up with yummy filling salads that are LE friendly. I am currently working on an Iceberg Wedge salad.

Iceburg wedge:

A big wedge of iceberg salad
goat cheese
Balsamic vinegar
a bit of Ranch dressing

-------------- I am missing something like bacon bits, pomegranate, berries, pecans etc. but theres are high fat.
What would you add to this salad to make it delicious?

Nothing is off-limits but some people prefer to replace more nutrient-dense foods (like spinach) with less nutrient-dense ones (like iceberg lettuce). As long as your within totals you don't have to do this. It kind of depends on how nutrient-dense your diet is normally and whether you'll feel deprived by the changes and be more likely to give up the diet or whether it's an easy switch for you.

No, it isn't, it's actually free and unlimited, you can have as much as you want and no need to count.

Most of us do try to aim for choosing lower nutrient veg most of the time, when we can. So if you have the OPTION, you might want to choose lettuce vs. spinach, but you don't NEED to do that and can certainly have as much spinach as you want. :) The nutrients in spinach vs. lettuce amount to NOTHING for a sway. You'd have to eat a mountain of spinach before you got the nutrients in a Big Mac. :) You also do need to be getting some nutrients from somewhere and nothing but iceberg is not going to give you that.

Nessa, you do need to be getting SOME fat though. I see nothing wrong with some bacon or nuts on that at all. Bacon is actually one my fave LE Diet meat "cheats" (using quote there because if you're in limits it's not even a cheat anyway) because you eat only a smallish amount usualy and there's not a lot going on in terms of protein or other nutrients in it.

Onion - some like to avoid onion because it supposedly raises testosterone but I doubt it really does anything.

Tomato, chickpea, nuts, pomegranate, berry, spinach all totaly allowed - some you have to count pro, fat, cals

Avocado - while we class this as a boy food, it can be a good thing to have on a day you're low in fat and cals but high in protein.
