DH and I are going to try for our 5th and last baby in August/September. I am overweight. We have been doing Atkins for the past two months and we have lost 20 lbs each. I've been doing some research on the LE diet to start and I may have to buy the 21 day meal plan because I have no idea on what to eat. I know for one is no red meats.

I have an appt in Early June to get my diabetes checked out. I had it during my last pregnancy and they thought it might be type 2 but wasn't 100% until after I had baby. They never did any testing after though. I was on metformin 500mg 4x a day. I've heard good things about swaying with pink with this medicine, but I think I may wait until my dr's appt to start it again. I've been trying to remember to take my blood sugar the past two days and they've been borderline except today after dinner was 170's.

I have my IUD out on July 5th and my pre-conception/high risk meeting a week later. We would like to ttc after a get my first period back. Last time it took about 6 weeks. My questions are;

1. I know it's important to take folic acid for everyone ttc. I've heard higher doses sway more blue. I am on 1mg tablets (not mcg!) because of the losses. Should I lower this or keep it the same?

2. I have a friend that got pregnant on Clomid and offered her extra pills to me. If I take these, is it safe with metformin? Do I still have DH do FR, bd every 4 days, or just the one try after + ovulation?

I have no problems getting pregnant at all. I usually get pregnant on the first try every month. You might consider that lucky, but I also have a lot of losses. In order: 1 miscarriage, boy, girl, miscarriage, boy, miscarriage, ectopic, boy. My periods are also (except when I'm on iud) very normal.

Also, DH said he will do anything he can to sway pink. I know he can't have LR because of high blood pressure, but is there anything else he can do for supplements or diet?

I never heard that folic acid should sway blue. I hope not because I am taking 2000 mg daily. Your DH can take OLE. This is said to sway pink. GL with your journey. If you go with LE and exersice I am sure your kilos will flew off.

Oh gosh I'm so sorry I knew there was still one of these out there. I got about 20 long posts in the span of 2 days and missed this one. Just nag and nag me because I want every question answered and if I don't reply it's a goofup on my part.

Atkins can actually sway pink because any time you eat a really restrictive diet it can sway pink for you. So please don't feel like it's over because you were on Atkins a while. We don't want you to go back to the super high carb intake of standard LE though. I want you on the atomic fertility diet you can find in this thread, 5 from top http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html This is also better for you given the history of gestational diabetes and we've had very good results with this form of the diet.

Metformin does sway pink so that's great if you can getsome.

TTC first cycle after IUD removal also may sway pink.

please do not take less folic. I know the source of that information and they are chronically putting forth dangerous and untrue info in the name of "swaying". But we ALL take 1200-1600 mcg (that's 1.2 - 1.6 mg) for our pink sways and have great results doing that, so it simply cannot be true that higher folic intake sways much if at all.

Clomid is among the best of the best and if you know she got it legit (and not from an online pharmacy), while it is frowned upon, I personally would take it in a heartbeat haha. It is def. safe with Metformin. I would wait for first AF after the IUD removal in that case and take ONLY 50 mg CD 3-7. Do not take more than that without a doctor's input. You have to wait for AF to come so don't be tempted to start it sooner.

How much Clomid do you have??? If you only have a month or two I'd start with e4d. If you have the full 6 months, I"d give a month or two on 1 attempt at positive before going to e4d. I would not have your hubby do FR in either circumstance. It will cut odds of conception soooo far and you are on target for a very good chance of pink, I'd hate to see you cut odds of conception with FR (which is not really working for us) when you've got so much going for you otherwise.

If you take the Clomid I would not give him anything other than OLE 500-1000 mg daily started right away, then weaned off at BFP.

If you don't take the Clomid you can give him peppermint tea 3 cups a day and/or 12-48 oz soy milk a day.
