Hi Ladies,

I have been having a short LP phase of 8 every month without fail.I ovulate and 8 days later get my period.I have had all the testing done for my hormones with a fertility specialist and all within normal range. My supposed PCOS diagnosis off another docotor was wrong also according to her as my levels are within range. My egg count was 25.The specialist was reluctant to put me on Clomid as she thinks I don't need it and can get pregnant with a short phase.Has anything worked for anyone else in lengthening it? I really want to try Clomid but feel it's such an expensive process of consultations to get it and that's if I do get it.Is there a safe online store that sells it? I have tried vitex, progesterone cream(wild yam and vitex) eating more B6 foods.

I'm lurking as I'm in the same boat. Mine was 13 at Christmas, steadily gone down to 10, 8, 6 and last month 5.... We'll see next week what this one brings. Are you doing cardio? Have you lost a lot of weight? My dr wouldn't even do tests - just told me I was stressed!!

Sounds like me! It's frustrating that's for sure.I do do cardio 5 days a week but normally only walking and have actually put on 2kg.

I have had a dr say I didn't have pcos because my hormones were normal but I have now been diagnosed due to other factors. It is a combination of the pcos symptoms they looks for but not necessarily all of them.

Clomid could help with the short LP so I would get a 2nd opinion.

Where are you located? That can make a difference to if you can access it other ways. Here in Australia it is pretty difficult to get without a prescription.

Clomid is the gold standard for lengthening LP and 8 days is pretty short. Yes, you can get pregnant with an LP that short and people do it all the time. But it would be great to get Clomid, too.

How can your tests be in normal range, surely progesterone is at least somewhat low?? Did they test progesterone?

Vitex, B6, and prog cream generally don't work that well. What I would do is add in the full fat dairy 1 serv. a day, 4-6 eggs a week, salmon or red meat 1 serving a week idea and drop fiber if you're still taking it for a start.

I can't recommend getting medications on line as there is the possibiltiy that they will be unsafe knockoffs that contain harmful ingredients. That having been said I do know tons of people have done so and been perfectly fine doing that. I don't know what pharmacists they used.

We have to fix this honeybee, even if you have to gain weight to do it.

So I got my test done the day I got a positive on an ovulation test. The specialist said my levels were 2.2 or so? She said within normal but I'm not really sure what normal is.

So this is yesterday's diet.I normally only have tuna once a week and chicken for the remaining.

Bfast at 10:30 3 rice thins with cream cheese and carrot slices
Chai latte on almond milk(unsweetened)
Two tablespoons of full fat yoghurt with cinnamon

Lunch
1/2 cup quinoa with tuna and half a pear
Protein bar(not nutritional) just for something sweet

Dinner
Full egg and egg white only
Two slices of multigrain toast
Mushrooms and spinach
Two rice thins with cream cheese and strawberries
Two scoops of low carb ice cream

Yeah I live in AU.I really want to try it out so I may just have to pay the expensive fees and see if it works in bringing it forward.I have been thinking about getting it online but I'm just too nervous the more I think about it lol

What do u think about taking arginine to boost progesterone and Vit C? Is it best to stick to food source? Does the supplements away?

Is it expensive because you have to pay for a monitored cycle? With my FS I said I wanted to do clomid so he gave me the prescription and then said to call when my period started if I was ready to do the full monitored cycle. Technically I could have just taken the clomid and not called back to do the monitored (expensive) cycle. The prescription has enough repeats for 6 cycles.

Arginine sways blue but worse than that, it's really messed up people's cycles causing delayed O and short LP. I no longer use it for blue (for DW, only for DH) because of the side effects.

Do you have totals at all? It's all the right kinds of foods to be sure, I just like to see those totals. I know you posted your totals on the other page, if that is in line with what this diet is then I want you to make the changes I recommended before (especially fat as that is what makes sex hormones)

Oh shoot I'm obviously thinking of a different thread here >:/

I want you to be sure you're getting 50-60 g protein and 50-60 g fat. You may need to cut back on some carbs to do this to stay at the same calorie intake but I"m not SURE you need to - you may even want to try upping cals a bit to compensate.

Were u asking my weight atomic ? I tend to be around 120/126 pounds. Hvnt weighed myself for a few weeks.
My last cycle LP was 7 days, month before was 8 + the month before that was 10. So mine is def shortening too! Im not taking b6 or any other supp either (except folate)

Do weigh yourself as one of the main causes for short LP is losing too much weight.

ARe you for sure getting enough fat?

I use 'my food diary' do u think I should bring my protein down?

Maybe a little, but it's imperative you get more fat. That very well may be why you have a short LP right now.

I just want to be sure you're ACTUALLY getting that many calories. Remember low carb veg are FREE and unlimited and since MFP and moany other trackers count them, you have to compensate for that and may need to eat MORE.

I will increase the fat :-) I'm hoping to start Clomid within the next few weeks(provided the specialist can't think of any more excuses to give it me lol) do I just carry on as normal? 60g protein 50g fat and 6 days excercise? I have been throwing a glass of red wine in the mix to up my cals too

Yes I would carry on as normal!!!

I know it feels scary to in effect increase food intake on LE but the fact is we've had great results with the alternate diets that have that exact nutrient intake. You aren't selling your sway short, you're not able to get pregnant eating less and so we have to dial that radio dial back a teensy bit. IT's still very different than your diet when you got your boys!
