I haven't been on the site for a while since I've been so busy with everything going on in my life. I swayed boy and I am 28 weeks pregnant. I am team green and when I went in for my growth ultrasound, I looked at the ultrasound screen with all of my info on it and I saw that it said gender: female. I was bummed out. After she did the sono she asked again if I wanted to know the sex and I said no. When she was done the screen came up again, and it was a big screen and it had that info. Why would she put that info up unless that was just all of MY info? I haven't looked at the screen with my other sonos so I am not sure if that was always there. What do you guys think? Is that the baby's gender? Why would they have it on there if I didn't want to know?

She would have had to type it in at some point for it to appear there. Was it up the moment you got on the table?

it was already on the screen when I got there. While I was getting undressed I noticed it so tech wasn't in the room.

This happened to me with my second child .

Actually, to correct that, it was on my scan and not the ultrasound screen. It was the scan pic and top left said female. But that was not gender for baby.
I get what you mean now. They should not do that if you have said you dont want to know the gender. That is the whole point of them asking!!!! Im sorry you are now at 28 weeks and having to deal with this.. Sending you lots of support and hugs xx

Was it next to your name? This was under my name and DOB. So not sure. I don't enjoy being team green. There are too many mind games.

If it was on the screen with your name and DOB then it is your information. If it was posted on the screen on the image of the baby then it is the gender of the baby.

ok makes me feel a little better. It would be very surprising to me that they were this careless. I am afraid to ask because I'm afraid they will tell me it's the gender of the baby. I guess I am still team green. Thanks ladies!!

Just had to pop in and say this very same thing happened to me, I went to find out the sex of number 2 (after I promised DH I wouldn't find out but that is a whole other story LOL) and I see on the screen "female" and I say "I thought you said boy?!?". She says "that's YOU". Honest!

I am sure that is the case for you, they wouldn't write "female" anyway, I think they would label it "girl" if they thought it was a girl!

Hopefully that's the case for me. But I also think it is strange to put Our gender on the screen. I guess even though it's an OB/Gyn office and all patients are female it might be protocol to put patient's gender.

it's because ultrasound programs are used for lots of different things and it's just standard practice to put the gender on the patient's ultrasound. In fact I would not be surprised if they have it preset in the OB's computer to just auto enter ALL patients as female gender.

honestly, they really don't CARE that much what gender your baby is. They really do not care enough to take time from their day to enter "FEMALE" in big letters on a baby's ultrasound. They are trying to help ladies have healthy babies, boy or girl, and I think you're viewing this through the lens of GD where gender is important to us. It was your gender and probably just preset into the computer that way.

You're right Atomic! Every time I see the physicians they never mention gender. All they care about is the growth and heartbeat and obviously my health. I am just obsessed with GD that I am overthinking everything.

You guys were right about Female being (my) gender and not the baby's. I just gave birth a few days ago to a beautiful baby boy!!! I'm still in shock! I can't believe my sway worked. I am beyond excited. Thank you so much Gender Dreaming!!!
