I'm hearing alot of success stories about giving up sugar and falling pregnant over in a facebook group. Any success over here?
Just also found out a high school friend gave up sugar and followed this diet somewhat along with Vitex supplement and Maca Root in smoothies. She's got a healthy boy now. She miscarried 3 times before that. She really thinks it was the sugar causing infertility. This really could be it because I am a sugar hound!!!

But weren't you following the atomic fertility diet already?? That is what I thought I'd recommended for you somewhere along the way. If you're following the atomic fertility diet you should already not be eating sugar (except for fruit) and that would just overall be better for anyone struggling with fertility issues as it also has more healthy fat in it.
If a person has PCOS or PCOS tendencies (where they have many of the symptoms of PCOS but just don't have the syndrome full blown) then yes, cutting out sugar may help. Vitex may also cause lowered hormone levels and be of benefit to those with PCOS. But those people should be on atomic fertility diet too and it's really diet that helps the most.
The problem is, that many people do NOT have fertility issues because of PCO tendencies. There are many reasons why someone may be struggling to get pregnant that would NOT respond to simply dropping sugar and adding in vitex, in fact many of these things would be made much WORSE if a person suddenly drastically dropped much lower in cal intake and started taking vitex. The vast majority of stuff online that is supposed to help fertility only applies to those who have PCO tendencies and NOT all the other reasons for fertility struggles. and doing things for PCOS when you don't have it, is like throwing gasoline on a fire. Things will go from bad to much worse so that not only are you not geting pregnant, you're not even ovuating any more and/or your LP gets short.
Think about it this way - of the millions of women struggling with fertility issues, if the surefire fix was to just cut out sugar and take two of the most common herbs out there, wouldn't they all be doing it?? All these so-simple fixes, if they really worked that great, no one would ever be seeing RE's. The people they work for have a fixable problem, the PCO tendencies. If you don't have that problem, you're going to end up worse off than before.
My advice for you is to do atomic fertility diet and yes yes cut back on sugar but do not add in vitex or maca because we do not really know what is going on with you. Diet alone works for most people with PCO tendencies and additionally it does it without messing you up if you're in the other boat, with some kind of unknown reason you're not getting pregnant.
I do not recommend maca for anyone as we saw some very weird side effects with it and I do not feel we have enough info about its safety.

I took maca for a while and had major issues. I felt awful and had the worst insomnia for the entire month I took it, I didn't link that it was the maca. I started sleeping again after I stopped taking it (and I couldn't sleep even with multiple sleeping pills). It REALLY screwed me up, I stay away from that stuff!

Thank you!! Yes this was very much the type of thing I'm talking about. One lady even had hallucinations on it.
