Hi ladies! I am currently on CD 12 and took my first round of clomid on CD 3-7. My OB told me 99% of women will O on CD 14 w/ clomid. I have been testing w/ the CB Advanced OPKs since day 10. All blank circles except I tested again late on CD 10 and got a solid smile - I was expecting maybe a blinking one. Then it went right back to empty circles! What is going on here? Did I miss O? That would be pretty early right? Just feeling so frustrated!

You could have O'ed on CD 10. I did clomid CD 3-7 and I think I O'ed on CD 12, I was surprised as it was early--my doc said I'd O 5-9 days after the last pill. OPK's were not reliable for me when I was on clomid. I would get a barely positive OPK and then it'd go straight to blaring negatives again. I realized that I wasn't getting a +OPK until just hours before O, so I switched to DTD every 4 days to make sure I caught the egg.

99% seems a bit high to me, I really doubt it is true.

I am on round 2 of clomid but it is the 5th time I have taken it in my life. This time and last time I took it 4-8. Last cycle I o'd on cd19 and I am currently cd16 and waiting to O in the next few days.

Normally they say you should O within 5-10 days of the last clomid tablet, I tend to be more like 8-11 days based on all my previous clomid cycles.

Your doctor needs a refresher course at med school because that is simply not the case at all. Most O 5-10 days after stopping the Clomid but there are exceptions that take longer to get there. Here is a not very reliable calculator. Clomid Ovulation Calculator - When Am I Fertile? | BabyMed.com (http://www.babymed.com/tools/clomid-ovulation-calculator)

Clomid in your system can cause a false pos on OPK and this can last a good 3 days after taking it. Chances of False Positive OPK While on Clomid - ConceiveEasy (http://www.conceiveeasy.com/get-pregnant/chances-of-false-positive-opk-while-on-clomid/) I suspect that's why you got a solid smiley on that day becuase while it's not impossible, it would be tough for your body to have taken a dose of Clomid CD 7 and then O only 3 days later. Clomid blocks your body's ability to ovulate and it takes usually 5 or more days after you stop taking it, for your body to recover and ovulate.

Ugh! This is so frustrating! The OPKs have been negative ever since day 10! I am now on day 14! When I called the doc, the nurse said I might need 100 mg but I am a little nervous about that! And how late could I ovulate if I even do?

Also what reasons are there that clomid wouldn't work for me?? I don't understand how I could be perfectly fine and not have any problems getting pregnant and then a year ago, I stopped BFing my little one and nothing has been normal since!

Not ovulating till CD 14 or longer after taking Clomid till CD 7 is NOTHING. Please don't worry about it. What they told you was wrong. It's not unusual to O even 3 weeks after taking the Clomid.

It is highly unlikely you'll need 100 mg Clomid. THey have no reason for even thinking this way yet. You will most likely O just fine and dandy in a day or two or three. I have only seen Clomid not work in a very small minority of women (seriously, I can count it on one hand)

Like atomic said, I have always heard 5-9 days after the last pill, so I wouldn't even start to worry until CD17 or 18, and even then, it may just be your body taking longer. Unfortunately at this point, only time will tell! I know it is super frustrating to have to wait in the dark!

I've taken Clomid three cycles in my life. I took 100 mg CD5-9 an O'd on CD17 the first cycle I took it (miscarriage). After waiting two cycles I took 100 mg CD5-9 again and O'd CD16 (DS1). I then took it my first cycle TTC DS2 (BFP) and took it 100 mg CD5-9 and didn't O until either CD22 or 23. I was told by my doctor that ovulation should happen within two weeks of taking the last pill.

I'm about to ovulate again on cd19 after taking it cd4-8 this cycle.

My clomid cycle history (all 50mg):
2 x taking it cd5-9 and I O'd cd19
2 x taking it cd4-8 and I O'd cd 19
1 x taking it cd 6-10 and I O'd cd18

As others have said, don't start worrying yet, you still have time to ovulate in the normal range.
