Hello,
Was wondering if a sonographer can be wrong with the nub theory? I was told at my NT scan that my baby was a boy going by the angle of the nub? How accurate is this and should I start shopping boys clothes now? I have two beautiful boys at home already, as much as I will love this one just the same if its a boy,. it would be SO nice to have a girl around my house!
Is it really possible that I will /can still hear girl at the next scan???

They're wrong all the time and you can still hear girl! I would not start shopping, personally. most ultrasound techs I have talked to won't even guess until 16 weeks, 15 at the very earliest, because it's just not reliable until then. Most gender ultrasound places have this policy too, 16 weeks is usually the minima because they're just not accurate before that.

12 weeks is too early to definitively tell the gender. I wouldn't go out shopping just yet. Like Carmella said, 16w is usually the minimum and really even then it can be wrong!

As said, 12 weeks is too early to day for definite. I'm quite surprised they offered an opinion - not a good idea! It can be possible to tell from the angle of the nub depending on what baby is doing at the time, but at 12 weeks there's still room for change. As the girls said, it's best to check at around 16 weeks on a potty shot. I hope you get what you wish for x
