Hi! I'm Belinda and I'm a mom to 5 sweet boys. We are going to start trying next month for baby #6. I would LOVE to have a little girl. I adore my boys and would feel blessed to have another but I have always dreamed of having a little girl and this will be my last chance. I'm going to try some swaying this time to see what happens. I read that you should be on the diet for at a minimum of 6 weeks so that isn't going to happen. I have been drinking distilled water with crystal light and skipping breakfast to lower my blood sugar. I just got some ph testing strips yesterday but they didn't appear to work with my cm :(. They didn't change color. Anybody know why this would happen? Anyway, I look forward to meeting everyone and joining a great community!

Hi and welcome!
Lots of great info here :agree: About pH strips: you might have 'low ionic strenght CM' so you might want to: 1. change the brand or 2. get digital Hanna pH tester - it's more accurate and shows decimal points. That being said, I use pH strips and I dont even have Hanna LOL! + Atomic believes pH isn't the huge swaying factor, so Idk.

I feel more comfortable when my pH is closer to 7 as it was 4 when I 1st tested it and I have 2 girls.

You know you have options to lower your pH with RepHresh and other stuff I don't know much about bcos I'm swaying blue  Like nuthinbutpin said, you'll find all the info in Stickies in TTC girl section :agree:

Pink dust to you!

Loads of pink dust to you. Go ahead and read the diet info for pink and pick some things to work on now - any amount of time can help and you can make some girl-leaning changes before your TTC dates. Good luck!

Thanks ladies! Checked out the diet suggestions and I'm going to incorporate some of those. Also going to look into ways to lower my testosterone.

HI! I believe you can still sway to some extent, even if you haven't been on the diet for a full six weeks because both pH and blood glucose levels can lower immediately. You may not even get pg next month, so by starting to TTC now, you will most likely end up with 6 weeks + on diet.

The strips don't change if you have something called "low ionic strength", meaning that the ions in your CM are too dilute to be detected by the strips. You can try a digital tester or go without testing and trust in your sway (by using RepHresh, which reacts with everything it touches to lower pH) that it's working. That can actually help keep your testosterone lower because some people become consumed by checking and monitoring their CM so often that their testosterone levels actually increase as a result.
