Morning, (well it is morning here in the uk :)),

How long should I be on the boy diet? I have read so much conflicting information!!! I am within a healthy weight range and really don't want to gain to much, but I will if need be for the best shot at a boy (this is our absolute last baby).

Timing wise I would like to start ttc this cycle because of a few factors and things we have on next year but if it's best to wait until the next cycle again I will, I have only been on the diet and pregnecare conception for about a week and had my implant removed yesterday....

With my daughters I fell pregnant first month of trying (we were very lucky!).

Thanks for any help :)

I think I read it's less important to be on it for a long time than the girl diet. I think 6 weeks was the minimum? I'm sure someone who knows more about it will be on soon though! Good luck!

Thanks :).

Maybe I should wait for my next cycle - I'm impatient too! X

:agree: I think 6 weeks is enough for blue and up till last year we were getting fab results with just 6 weeks. But this past year, despite not having changed anything for our blue sways, we got lower results (still better than 50-50, but not as high as the 75-80% we got in 2011-2014.) While I think this is a statistical fluke due to a variety of reasons I don't want to rest on our laurels either and this is something that we could tweak easily enough, just having a bit longer on diet. You'll need to take extra care not to gain too much so you may want to start off doing the lowest HE Diet cal intake 1800-2000 and then up over the course of time

Above all esle you should do what is best for you and your family because you can be on a diet a year and still get an opposite!!

I do believe strongly that women who have conceived easily and have girls have a better shot at a boy than people who really have in the past struggled to get pregnant (but you ladies should still sway because it will both improve fertility and also will still up odds of blue at the same time!!) So if you really needed to only hit it 6 weeks, Dreamingblue16, then you have a lot more leeway than let's say a woman who ahs had severe fertility challenges in the past.

Re weight gain, you do not need to gain mroe than 3-5 lbs or even anything at all. It's a misconception that you need to gain a massive ton of weight on HE Diet - you DON"T, and furthermore I find many of my opposites are in people who gained more than 30 lbs on HE Diet.
