Hello lovelies. Hope everyone is well. I've been camping for last few days (crazy I know) so just catching up. I'm 8 weeks today and I phoned to book in with midwife. Felt like they were having a go at me a bit on phone so it's put me on a downer a little. Since my last baby they have started doing blood tests for all the genetic conditions free of charge at ten weeks plus which is great but sadly they wont ask or disclose gender :( it's because any form of gender selection is highly illegal here. At least the conditions will be screened for that's something.
I've got about 5 weeks till my scan which they will do at 13 weeks. I'm expecting to be put back about 2/3 days based on my calculations as I think ff was confused due to such variations previous months. I'm feeling really exhausted. Far more than any pregnancy at this stage. Really struggling. Can't deceide if its being that bit older, being fatter than I've ever been (due to 6m on he), having 3 kids already or just this pregnancy being different. I've never EVER napped during day in my life (even with newborns) but two days I've had too and I'm in bed at 9 most nights. So glad I'm not working at moment as I honestly couldn't manage. hope people are doing better than me!!! I can't beleive how close some of you are to finding gender out. I'm so jelous!!!!

It's prob been discussed but is anyone doing the NIPT/ harmony blood test to find out gender. I know I will so when we announce at 12 weeks we can just say the gender without everyone saying all the usual things like I hope it's a girl etc.

Not me I will see if I can get the tech to have a guess at my 12 week scan, if not will just have to wait till 20 weeks. The other tests are just a bit expensive for me, we are renovating our house slowly and also going on holidays in September to visit family, and then its going to be Xmas and I still have nothing for this baby, so finances are a bit tight right now
jenren
August 18th, 2016, 01:16 AM
I'm still on the fence about the harmony test. It will cost about 120 for me to do which isn't terrible but that money could go towards other stuff :/
Right now I'm stressed trying to figure out who I am going to deliver with... whether I am going to have a hospital or birth center birth. I really want a birth center but I'm nervous because I have a hx of hemorrhage with all three previous births and with the last one I had a prolapse. I just wish I knew what decision to make

Welcome and congratulations Jenren. I really want to do a blood gender test but they are very expensive in the UK. Easily the cost of a full decent travel system. Cheapest I've found is about £400 and not sure I can justify it just to find out only gender as the nhs ( free healthcare ) are now doing nipt for all the trisomies and other genetic conditions. Sadly they will not disclose gender so I'd have to have a privite nipt purely for gender. I could kind of justify it before as I could have used all the genetic testing to justify it but now that's availible anyhow freely, not so much!!!! I might have to wait for 16 week scan. They wont guess in UK at 13 weeks I tried everytime. I asked about a potty shot at my last scan and she said they don't do requests scans are purely for dating. It wasent even good enough to guess a nub !

I am probably only doing a NIPT if the NT scan comes back high risk as my GP suggested. I'm still not even thinking about gender or much past the scan in just over a week.
Tomorrow I'm getting my progesterone tested and then will cut back on the pessaries and have it re tested early next week. I'm worried I will do the test tomorrow and the progesterone will be super low still because the baby isn't developing anymore. Although if my progesterone is ok I will probably just worry that the placenta is growing but the baby isn't. I just can't let myself be too positive about it yet, maybe after the scan.

Purple - I'm feeling similar to you. We've had health issues with a previous baby so will have in depth scans early on but additionally, I can't help but worry this pregnancy won't work out and it's my last/only shot at a baby. We will have similar age gaps too as my eldest is 7 and youngest is 5 so basically 8 and 6 years respectively between my boys and this one! Quite daunting really...x

What will your dates be then? Will you try to do nub guessing?
I'm getting nervous about mine now with less than a week to go (it's 10am next Saturday). I'm only going to be 11w 3d based on the last scan so no nub guessing. I really couldn't wait an extra week!

Horrendous nausea and vomitting. Easily I think the worst I've felt in any pregnancy ever. I feel like death. Just needed to type that out. I will be calling my OB on Monday for my regular pregnancy dose of zofran... B6 and unisom doesn't work for me and I can't go on much longer like this blech.
Drama queen I know. first trimesters are just so hard on me... was honestly hoping to get lucky just once and not get sick at all.

Burakoam I was hoping to get lucky and dodge ms also. No such luck :( it's been dragging me down for werks. Diclegis does take a bit of the edge off along with my sea bands but the morning sickness never leaves completely and has really limited what I am able to eat and drink. I can't wait for the first trimester to end unfortunately I can't use Zofran because the side effect of constipation is worse than the ms :/ I hope yours gets better!

Sorry you both have bad ms Burakoam and jenjren. I guess at least it is a good sign that everything should be going ok.
I have never had ms that bad that I vomit, I just get nausea and feel yuck. This time has been worse than the last 2 miscarriages but I'm not sure if it was worse than my boys. I think DS2 was when I felt worse and DS1 was so long ago I can't remember now. I hate when I do feel sick but as soon as I feel ok I start worrying again!

couldnt keep anything down anymore so in to a walk in clinic i went today...got lucky and they pitied me and gave me zofran...just in time too they said my pee was a little concentrated so if i had put it off until monday like that i probably would have dehydrated very fast.
hope your MS passes soon Jen!! i had tried seabands when i was pregnant with angela and they did NOTHING for me not even a little help so i will take the constipation lol...i couldnt deal with the exhaustion i felt when on b6 + unisome (diclegis as its called) i was still pretty sick but then i was also sleeping all the time and with a baby who is almost 11 months that just started walking...nope! lol
Purple i completely understand. i went off of zofran 2 weeks early last pregnancy so still had 2 weeks of feeling pretty cruddy and then when i finally started feeling better i was worried it meant something had gone wrong! I am also feeling horrendously guilty because of all those advertisements these days saying "blah blah sue your doctor if you were on zofran and your baby has this or this or this" and im just like...but i had 3 perfectly normal babies...heh. this time however i am on it way earlier than i normally take it...with my oldest two i didnt get morning sickness until weeks 9-10 and i only had it until 12-13 weeks..with angela i got it at 10 and had it until almost 15 weeks that was a nightmare....this one i have been sick with since conception. Ugh.

Burakoam the sleepiness was awful with diclegis! I almost gave up on taking it because I couldn't function but a friend told me to give it one more week and the my body seemed to adjust because now I don't get tired with it :) I'm so glad the clinic gave you zofran! My Dr said the claims and lawsuits against it are unfounded so try not to stress about it!

Glad it's stopped purple. That scan can't come soon enough!! I've got my booking appointment next Wed, I will be ten weeks. They said they are really busy at the moment. I also woke up today with gender nerves from nowhere. I can't stop thinking about how similar this is to my other pregnancies. I keep trying to convince myself this is new or i didnt feel like that but truth is its a mirror, all 4!
Hope everyone is ok. I'm sorry some of you have got the dreaded ms. I don't get sick just intense nausea, I find it worse if I don't eat every few hours, even though it's the LAST thing I feel like doing. I'm really looking quite plump in the tummy. I had to wear maternity clothes with my second at 10 weeks but managed to hold off till 20w with my 3rd as I was much smaller. I'm massive. Not looking forward to a telling off when I get weighed next week :(

baby same. only difference this pregnancy vs all the others is i am way fatter, and the sickness is way worse early on than all the others.
Zofran stopped working. i am trying to keep liquids and small bits of food down knowing its best for the baby but i am slowly losing my will here. i am not even taking it anymore as of this morning because why would i take something that wasnt helping?
7 weeks 2 days and im worried if i have another 5 weeks of this baby wont make it with the amount leaving my body vs the amount im able to get and keep in..

Aww bless you. I've bought some sea bands today so going to try them. I am keeping stuff down but I feel nautios so I am having to force food in. I feel ok for an hour then sick again. I forgot about this part of pregnancy as I think I coped better previously. I really think the extra weight is having a huge impact too. I'm all yukky and feel unhealthy, feel like I need to crash diet/shakes/detox/excercise but or course I cant. I'm really miserable and I feel like i am moaning alot which is not like me I normally love pregnancy. My husband suggested going to gp, but what am i supposed to say, im a winging, moaning nag???
Hoping the worse morning sickness is a good sign for you. If I had anything notebly different id be filled with hope. Apparently the y hormone becomes dominant (proving there is a y lol) around 9 weeks (I'm 8w5d) so I'm praying I get something new soon. And counting down to 12 weeks when apparently people start to feel better. xx

Sorry to all those who have MS it sounds horrible.
I have my scan Friday which because I have long cycles and had no idea when I Oed might be to early to see much. But I suppose worse case scenario I could just get another referral and go back next week.
I still haven't let myself get excited about this pregnancy due to losses. But unfortunately like @baby2016baby I have had a couple of gender nerves also, so you are not alone. Which sounds bad when I should just be nervous about having a healthy Bub and seeing a heartbeat come Friday.

Im back from my 12 week ultrasound. Everything was perfect and normal. Bubs is 7cm long, heartbeat is 149. Very low risk of Downs and trisomy. 2 hands and 2 feet with 5 fingers and toes. So I am feeling very blessed and greatful for all of that.
The tech asked me if I would like to know what she thinks the sex might be, so im just casually like oh yes id like to know, she zooms in on the nub and its a glaring flat white line. I knew immediately its a girl, she said in her opinion it is most likely a girl as the nub is completely flat with nothing above it. Im sure I hid any disappointment even though I felt it, im worried about telling hubby, he will feel it too I know probably worse than me. And the annoying thing is that I ended up with a disc of 30 images but none of the nub!
And I completely forgot to ask about thr cysts on my ovaries, she didnt even scan over them at all.

I don't believe one sex causes morning sickness and one doesn't but I know from friends who have both that pregnancies can differ slightly. My mum had ggb and she had her easiest pregnancy with my brother. My friend had gb and she was great with her d but suffered everything with her son. At the moment in very similar to all my pregnancies. Apart from 7w m/c in December where I didn't feel sick at all x

Yay for a healthy bub cinss. You can still cling on to the hope that it was too early and the nub will rise. Are you now waiting until the morph scan?
My hormones were good again today so I'm off the progesterone and they will test one last time Friday. At least it distracts me a little from waiting for the scan :)

August 23rd, 2016, 07:59 AM
I agree and know that women get sick with both genders and it can differ even when you have the same gender from before... All of my girls varied in sickness and length.. But none of them started so early. Or ended this early. That's right... There may be a light at the end of my tunnel... Hoping I don't jinx it but I didn't wake up sick this morning.. Now I've been sick since 3-4 weeks so if on average a woman gets morning sickness for 4 weeks I have paid my dues and it is time for it to be over so here is hoping it's a good thing and not a bad sign....
With my 10 year old I was sick from 9-12 weeks. With my middle daughter I was sick from 7-11 with my youngest I was sick from 9-15 weeks. This one started before I even had a positive pregnancy test and in fact was one reason I tested.

When I told hubby what the tech said he laughed it off, as I was showing him the pics and videos he said he could see what looks like boy bits, so he doesnt want to believe it yet.
Even though the tech said its a 75% chance it will end up being a girl based on the nub I am not going to hold onto that little bit of hope that the nub rises, I actually measured 13 weeks 2 days, its not going to rise, but im also not going to go out and buy pink until i get the 100% confirmation of the sex at the 20 week scan.

Burakoam - I have a friend who wasn't that sick with her two girls and then had terrible morning sickness with her 3rd who is a boy. She was in hospital several times needing fluid from getting so dehydrated.
Cinss - If you are measuring more than 13wks then it is probably a very good chance the girl guess is correct. Probably best not to cling on to the small chance it could be a boy as that would only make the GD worse. Either way, it looks like a cute baby :) How many girls do you have already? Did it move your due date?
Cinss
August 24th, 2016, 07:55 AM
Yeah every time I have a scan my due date moves, now its 25th of Feb, I think I will stick with my lmp date though, we have long babies.
I have accepted that this is another girl, I had the feeling from the start, without swaying I knew the odds were against me, i turned vegetarian for about a year an a half before we concieved, so as soon as I found out i was pregnant I thought about my eating habits and realised I was pretty much on the girl diet.
We have hubbys 2 girls, then a girl and boy of ours so this little one will be girl number 4 in our family. The kids are all pretty excited about a new baby coming along, they are all hoping for another boy though, I havent told them yet that its a girl, I just keep saying it can be either.

Cinss I do think you can see baby nub in that last 3D shot and it does look really flat with the spine even though baby is arched a bit... It's swollen so if that's what your hubby thought was boy parts I know why but I feel like I can clearly see where it's growing "in"... I am gonna guess girl off of that. But she is beautiful and I bet she fits right in with her big brother and sisters :)

My progesterone dropped a fair bit today but the nurse tells me not to worry as it happens when going off completely. It was 76, then 73 after dropping to 1 a day, then 42 or something today after being off completely. They are happy as long as it is over 30. I guess I will find out tomorrow if there is a problem.

She didn't say anything. At one point I said "oh that's a nice clear nub shot" but got nothing from her.
I think it looks a bit like a girl nub but I really don't want to get my hopes up because I thought DS2's nub looked girly, although his wasn't as clear as this one is. I actually was hoping to avoid nub guessing for this very reason!!
I will post the photos in a few mins in the ultrasound section.

Has anyone started using a Doppler yet? With my boys, I found the hb at 10 weeks, 9 weeks and 8 weeks. I tried last week unsuccessfully and again today at 9+2 briefly but other than lots of noise (which oddly sounded like movement?!) I didn't hear much, no heartbeat. I still feel really crappy and have got so blimmin chubby already which sucks (I'm usually can 8-10, clothes are starting to get snug), I just hope all is well as there'll be no second chances on this one x

Hey ladies... sorry I haven't been in here. It's been a crazy crazy 1.5 weeks. My hubby is still not onboard with having another baby. I told him it's not a choice... what's done is done!! Anyways, finally saw my OB on Friday and had my first ultrasound. Everything looks good- nice strong heartbeat... and officially due 4/8/17!! Dr. gave me a little scare though... the look on her face was a little frightening... and then she turn the screen to me and I almost lost my lunch on the table. She turned the screen and I saw the second image - Anyone know what that is? After she turned it and maybe saw my face, she said- just wanted to make sure there was only one in there. ?!?! When my boys I never had any morning sickness... got sick once with my daughter and once this time around... BUT I have all day nausea and NO FOOD sounds or tastes good to me. Yesterday was my oldest sons bday... I could hardly eat at dinner and could hardly eat the cake. So not my norm. I know that doesn't really play into the gender, but I certainly hope it means I'm having a girl!!!! ;)

Next scan is in 3 weeks and then I will also do the MaterniT21 test. I will be 11 weeks then.

I did the sneak peak test... got the results today. They came back boy. This will be boy number 4. I was not disappointed which pleasantly surprised me. Both dh and I really did have a feeling that this was a girl so the boy result did come as a bit of a shock but we are excited to welcome a fourth little boy into the world. We have already decided that later down the road we will adopt a girl most likely out of the foster system. We will have our girl. Just not biologically. :)

Yes there is a lawsuit against it and results on baby boards vary. But I'm inclined to believe the boy result is right considering. Have 3 already lol

I had to Google the sneakpeek test, I haven't heard of it before. So how long does the Y chromosome stay in your blood after you have a male baby, or is it only during pregnancy?
jenren
August 28th, 2016, 07:50 PM
It says to not do three months after a miscarriage so I am guessing 3 months. My youngest is 2 in Nov so I'm sure it's gone by now

edit: this claims at least 5 years. but that for the most part they work hard to seperate previous fetal blood from current meaning sometimes they might fail but for most part they can

I find it amazing they can even find fetal blood on our blood!
Progesterone results from today were good, back in the 60 tange. No more blood tests for at least a week and a half now when I have my hospital appointment (although woth DS2 I declined the tests but I might try to be a good patient and do some of the standard testing until I at least get into the homebirth program)
I will probably ring my GP tomorrow to see if the NT risk results are in because that will determine if we do the harmony test.

No 12 wk scan as I'm only 10.4 today. I just read a bunch of reviews on amazon about the sneak peak from the last couple months and there were quite a few people who had their gender inaccurately guessed. I still think I'm having a boy but it makes me wish I had never done it.

I guess you will have to wait to confirm then. If it had said girl you probably wouldn't believe it!
So DH just told his parents. They were surprised as I don't think they expected us to have another when our youngest is about to turn 5. I'm so glad I wasn't there as I may have strangled my FIL who said he wants it to be another granddaughter (he has 1 granddaughter and 4 grandsons). If it is a boy I won't be there when he gets told as I know he will complain! I said to DH that this morning they had no idea they were getting another grandchild so they shouldn't be now putting in orders for the gender!

What date do you think I should go with? Based on LMP I'm 12w 5d which actually matches up with the scan from the other day... or my ticker which I based on ovulation date. I know it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things but I'm wondering which date to use if I get a gender scan at 15wks?

August 29th, 2016, 08:28 AM
I'm still feeling really cruddy at the mo, all day nausea which is only marginally helped by eating all day long which really isn't helping my weight gain On the plus side though, I did find baby's heartbeat on my Doppler last night running at about 165bpm!
I've not heard of sneak peek either but I don't think I could rely upon it with so many false results...x

3's a charm I'm right there with you hon... Had two days where it was Non existent then it came back with a vengeance..I am so sick of being sick all the time and eating to try and subdue it that now I am not eating hardly anything as if mentally I am on strike with my own body. Of course this has led to more dry heave puking.. Blah.
Jen I am sorry. For what it's worth if I had seen you post about the sneak peak test before doing it I would have warned you... I think it's a cheaper alternative to harmony and the others which is why it's so popular... People thinking they can get the same info from a tiny finger poke amount of blood when the big companies take a huge tube of it to make sure they get what they need...last I read on that test people were of the general consensus that sneak peak got lucky with guesses more often than not and they weren't actually pulling fetal blood like the other companies... Still a chance it's right, you do already have boys.. But if you really wanna know for sure before 12-13 weeks or 20 weeks is suggest one of the more expensive tests for piece of mind. I was quoted 695 out of pocket for Verifi here in the US.. But if you have had a certain number of miscarriages or over 35 your insurance will cover the cost.
Think of it this way... If a tube of blood is used and they only find a fetal fraction of 7-10% on average how the hell are they finding any decent trace in a pinger poke of blood?

Oh and MIL's first question was asking if it was an accident..
I swear, I really feel like being pregnant causes people to have diarrhea of the mouth! I mean, who says something like that to their child out loud?! I mean what would she say if she were told the truth that you had been trying for over a year and miscarriages and chemicals one after another?! Ugh!
Sorry for the rant, but when did expecting a baby become something other than a blessing?! No matter how many children or gender, these precious babies you all are carrying are tiny miracles that are a gift, NOT something trivial you can order from a menu on a whim! Sheesh!

Hi everyone. Just catching up. I haven't seen your scan pics yet purple but will asap. Glad everything went ok. Sorry about your in-laws reaction. I have spent most of this week in tears worried about peoples reactions and comments as physically I'm not going to be able to hide much longer. My belly popped up a few days ago. Not baby of course but it's displaced stuff and it's quite obvious. I wouldn't care but it doesn't affect anyone. We take it ask for nothing, nobody helps us, has kids etc but bet they will still have an opinion!
Jen I'm sorry you heard boy from your sneak peek. I did a similar test with my dd3 and it also doesn't have very good reviews. It was however right for me but I felt much like you. Wish I hadn't bothered. I obsessed at stories where make DNA doesn't show in maternal blood etc. So we ended up paying for a gender scan at 15 weeks so it was a whole pointless excercise. You seem very at peace which is great. I was like a loonatic for a few weeks. Honestly I was terrible. I don't know how I will feel if it's girl 4. But it occupies alot of my thoughts xx
Burk and 3. I'm totally fed up too. I've never felt this ill. Just been sobbing to my hubby. I don't feel hungry ever, no food appeals to me. I feel sick if I eat. Sick if I don't. All that's keeping me going is this has to end soon. If it was down to me if take myself to bed for 7 months! To make matters worse it's summer break and my kids are entering their 6th week off school. Could this have fell at a worse time? I just thank my lucky stars I'm not at work as quite truthfully if have had to quit.
Hope everyone is doing well. Time seems to be going so slowly xxxx

baby2016baby, Burakoam, and 3'sacharm... I feel the same way as you ladies. I have to agree, this all day nausea is making me eat all the time and it's definitely not helping the numbers on the scale. I have gained 6 pounds so far and already weight 10 pounds more than what I started with my last two babies. I'm curious to what we are all having since we all pretty much feel the same.

Kel materniT is very accurate. Id say any chance of error depends on when you had it done. at 9 weeks there MIGHT be a chance Y chromosome wasnt in your blood yet enough for them to find it but if you had it 10 weeks or after then id say you are for sure having another little GIRL! :)

I would LOVE a little girl. I have no symptoms I hope I'm still pregnant [emoji16] in the morning I get a tiny bit of nausea. Been getting lots of back soreness though but that could be from other things non pregnancy related. I was never sick with my two sons either though. okay Cinss thanks I am the same as you symptom wise.
I really think that these wives tales are not gender related but they are personality of the baby related. My son had a HB of 172 and I had nausea with him for example. Well he is a wild baby and won't sit still for a second. He is also a bit needy and emotional. Perhaps nausea picks up hormones reflective of sensitivity and can be in either gender. So this baby has a HR of 138 and no nausea so this baby might be calmer and more independent? I am just thinking out loud I don't know if I make sense haha.

I agree I don't think the old wives tales are meant to reflect women as a whole but rather as individuals. I did the pendant 'test' earlier thanks to a friend that egged me on saying it was right for all of hers and her miscarriage so I did it and got circle (oldest) side to side (miscarriage) circle (middle) circle (baby) and then it went side to side... Circle being girl and side to side being boy. Probably the biggest bunch of horse poop luck lol we will see I guess

Nessa it can still change. I think there is a very very small chance to get what they call an 'early riser' if it's a boy in which cause that's less likely to change but a flat nub can still go up until the 13th week I believe
Either way it can't hurt to share and have others guess... Some will not guess on a nub that early though

for anyone else suffering with this all day nausea and/or puking...only thing i have found that gives temporarily relief is a milkshake. only do it if you are brave cause obviously any kind of milk coming back up is not fun..but it seems to really soothe the belly for me. any flavor should be alright...im big on chocolate and strawberry at the moment..
I'm exactly the same! I never drink milk but I'm absolutely loving milkshakes, it really does help with settling the tum!x

Well ladies I am 11 weeks today and feeling more terrible than ever before. I was hoping things would maybe start to calm down symptom wise but about 2 days ago they started to increase dramatically. I have excessive salivation which is a not too common pregnancy symptom. I had it with ds1 also. It is hands down the worst symptom for me. It leaves a 24hr nasty taste and feeling in my mouth. It also causes my nausea to be exponentially worst.
With the increase in these symptoms I have bee feeling pretty down the last few days because I just feel so awful :(
I hope everyone else is doing better!

big hugs jen...hopefully the increase is your hormones ramping up one last time before finally mellowing out for a while....
was surprised i got to see baby today at my appointment. Was not expecting an ultrasound at all...will make time go quicker between now and 20 weeks though since i opted out of an NT scan to do my genetic blood work sooner...they wanted me to wait until almost 12 weeks for both and i was like "nah" lol...so now i'll get blood work done at 10+2 but wont get to see baby until an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks...will be a long 2 months! i'll already know what baby is by the time i go in for that one though since im doing the blood test :)
For everyone who told me to have faith...baby measures ahead now right where i honestly thought it SHOULD have been all along...putting conception the day after my very strong OPK test, and the last time i had sex in my fertile window. So....fingers are crossed really hard right now. Heart was strong at 188 BPM. Baby had its back to the wand, lol...i could see it's tiny little hands though...

Great pic Burakoam. I am not prego yet but I drop by this thread often to watch all you lovely ladies in your journey and so hoping to join you soon. I gotta say though, never having been pregnant and waiting desperately for my BFP, I kinda scared now for the first trimester and all the MS all of you are having. Hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

Top of the amniotic sac near what appears to be top of the uterus.. Ramzi would probably say we are having the same gender... :nails::nails:

I haven't decided when to do the scan yet. The place says from 15wks but I'm not sure if I should wait a few more days for better accuracy.
My Dr rang me tonight with my NT results and said all normal. I said they already told me that when I rang and apparently they shouldn't have as the blood result part wasn't in at that point! Lucky they were still normal! I don't think she was impressed with reception doing that.

Aww lovely to see bubs burk. Im so envious. I had my booking yesterday (10w) and my scan should be arranged for 13w. i wont see the midwife very much at all. I think she said 16w, 24w and 32! That's it. Not helping my anxiety.
Jen I could have written what you wrote. I really have never felt this bad. I'm dehydrated alot too as struggling to drink much and suffering the enevitable effects at the other end. Its really bothering my dh seeing me like this and hes pretty much said this wil be the last. So I'm hoping it's my boy even more. He wants the snip now. I think we both counted on me sailing through as i did with the others. I didnt even have symptoms with them at all! I used to forget I was pregnant. Now it's all I can think about!
Purple I'm same as you. There's a place that does 15w but all others are 16w so I'm not sure if they have more opposites. They state it's reliable as the 16w but then they would.
Good luck to all getting bloods done soon, got everything crossed. I'm jelous but can't justify the cost this time round. Burk I have no idea where mine is positioned It will be too late for ramzi at my scan. But my last daughters scan was sent to gender experts and they said boy so I'm a bit wary of ramzi. It will be very interesting to see what we all have given some of us are feeling ok and some are the other end of the scale. Atomic said any differences between sexes wouldn't be apparent till week 10. I'm exactly 10w so hoping I get some signs. It's been hard not to obsess that all the sickness, nausea and complete exhaustion is a polar opposite of all my pregnancies as I don't want to build false hope.
Hope everyone is doing as ok as can be. I can't wait to see the back of tri1 xxxx

Baby2016 are you in the UK or Australia? My 1st appointment I will be about 14wks based on last scan and won't see a midwife until after 20wks. I think it gets more frequently after 32wks... not much happens early on so I'm not too worried.
The place I'm looking at for the scan has 3 locations in different states and the other 2 locations they say they will do gender from 14wk but my city is 15wks. Last time with DS2 the earliest everywhere was 16wks but I reckon I could have gone earlier with him as he was very clearly a boy! I think it also helps if you aren't too padded around the middle as they can get a clearer view.
baby2016baby
September 2nd, 2016, 03:22 AM
I'm in the uk. I know they've reduced the times seen recently for 2nd time or more mums. I think I'm worried as a family member suffered a still birth at 39+5 so I'm on edge. I'm lucky I can always get checked as got friends in the field but don't want to become a pain. I'm guessing they are the 13w and 20w scans as a kind of check.
Haha i better wait then. My middle is erm rather padded sadly. I keep umming and ahhing about the blood test but I think since I'm 10+2 now and it could be done from 9w I should just wait. By time they send kit out etc I'm going to be 12w+. I'm so impatient. I don't know if it's worth me doing the bloods as last time I was told girl I didn't beleive it and had the gender scan anyway! We had two incomes back then though. I wonder if the technology has improved slightly on the scanners? Hence them saying 14/15 weeks xxx

Morning ladies! I have my mw booking in appt today, feeling nervous! Had my first gender dream last night too, I was at my scan and had said I didn't want to officially know but asked them to show me shots of the goods and I couldn't see any boy parts. The dream was certainly suggestive of pink... I'm only looking at boy named at the moment and I think I feel fairly at ease with having another boy surprisingly (for the time being!). My friend is threatening to book me in for a private gender scan when I hit 16 weeks though lmao!!
I'm still feeling pretty rough, the weight gain is just the worst though! I'm nearly 1stone heavier than my lowest weight only a few months ago from starting the le diet. I just feel so fat already. I don't think I've got to the point of being officially overweight just yet at 9st 11lb and 5'6" though. It's all self inflicted due to the nausea I'm eating ALL day long!x

Oh I miss read it and didn't realise you didn't get more appointments after 32wks! Thats crazy as that normally when they notice any issues. With my first they picked up the pre eclampsia after 32wks because my BP went up. Also babies are often still breach at that point. Are you sure the don't start going fortnightly after 32wks?
The ultrasound technology may have improved as it was over 5 years since I had DS2s gender scan! I do have some padding so no perfect flat belly here but I guess it depends how much.
I'm so happy it's the weekend here (well Friday night).

hope it went ok 3!! I know what you mean about the nausea, I feel sick if I eat, but its worse if I don't so I'm snacking/lite meals all day!! plus I cant stomach my usual diet pop at all so I'm drinking a lot of straight juice and milk! I don't know how I will go this pregnancy. I gained 3 stone with my first, 5 stone with my 2nd, and 2 stone with my third although it should be said I have never been this heavy in my life ever, let alone pregnant. I'm hoping I don't gain or even loose a little........but known my luck. With my 2nd I was in maternity clothes at 10 weeks, I was huge. I started at a low BMI and ate everything in sight. I had to tell everyone as work collegues guessed at about 9 weeks! With my last I told nobody until 19 weeks. I was only just showing. What have others experienced in previous pregnancies??
sorry purple I think I will be seen more often after 32 weeks upto my section. My last baby was breach the day I went in for my section at 39w and a few days. I just meant it doesn't seem much to be seen early on. although your right, not much happens, I think I just like the reassurance of having the midwife measure and check the heartrate. I'm not usually a worrier but I feel slightly uneasy this time round. I think that's down to feeling so rotten. My midwife said its a good sign feeling so bad, not sure how they figure that out. I am either loosing the plot or I felt some movement yesterday when I was laid on my belly (I'm still sleeping on my front for now) just bubbly but I'm 99% sure that's what it was. I think I will relax when I can feel movement and after my scan. As at this moment, I have had no bloods, scans nothing done, apart from my own HPT. Its so different to previous times when ive had scans and bloods done regularly which provided some assurance at least.
have a good weekend everyone. my kids go back to school on Monday after a long 6.5 weeks off. I cant wait haha xxxx

Seemed on par with what I want out of my delivery and she did an ultrasound just so I could see the baby. She has an old machine not used for diagnostic purposes so it doesn't measure baby or hb but I got to see my little boy swimming around arms and legs and cute as can be :)

My boys both want a little brother but I'm sure they will be ok either way.
I'm not sure what would be worse.. knowing it's a boy and pretending not to know and getting all the 'are you hoping it's a girl?' questions or just telling people it's another boy and getting stupid comments like 'well you can try again'. I don't think you can win!

That's fantastic jen. Im glad you have a plan. Adopting in the UK is quite difficult. I know as we looked into it alot before having any children. The hoops they make you jump through and the fact due to all the meeting and stuff you don't get the baby untill 9m + put us off a little. However if it meant we get out dream we would revist as an option. I might be more temped to try pgd first.

I spoke to my dad on the phone after my booking in appt and said we should get a scan date soon to which he replied "oh, you'll get to find out if this ones a girl then?" Gah! No we won't, it's too early, but talk about putting the pressure on. And he won't hide his disappointment when it's ANOTHER boy either :/ I'd like to leave it as a surprise at birth but I doubt hubby will let that happen, he always wants to find out during pregnancy. My eldest son wants a sister but my youngest wants a brother; I'm sure this will be my fourth boy though, I don't think there's really many discernible differences between this pregnancy and my others, other than gaining weight and a bump VERY early on, I'm usually a very late "show-er" x

Hey everyone!!! Looks like I've only been able to come on here once a week... Sorry, things have been so crazy busy around here. I tried to read up on all the posts, but might be nearly impossible to comment back on each one. But please know I am thinking about you all and I hope as more genders start rolling in we get the news we all want to here.
Jen, I feel the same as you about telling everyone the gender... I already have a little girl and 3 boys... and everyone knows how much I would like my daughter to have a sister... I just have a weird feeling this is a boy and I am not looking forward to hearing all the comments and apologies.
I am dying to find out what I am having and my Dr isn't having me come for my m21 test until 9/19. I will be 11+2 then and I just can't wait that long. lol!! So in the meantime, just for fun I pulled out this handy-not-so-handy Chinese gender chart that a Chinese OB that I once worked for gave me. Looking back... it has been true for ALL my children, even one of my miscarriages that we know was a boy... and says I am having another boy. PLEASE someone debunk this theory! lol!!!
Now, before any of you go and do this, just make sure to use the month of conception and know that it's not necessarily your LMP. For example, I always assumed my daughter was conceived in August... but looking back on the dates it actually says September 1st - 7th... making her a girl on the chart and not a boy if I had conceived in August. I checked with friends and theirs all seem to be right for the most part and a couple friends were off a couple kids.

Brandles- can't say wether it's right for my first cause it starts at 18 and I got pregnant with her at 16 but I can tell you for my two others if that chart was right they should have been males. However it depends on how you read the chart... I always heard you are supposed to use the age you are going to be that year... So even if you are 26 as an example, if you have a birthday that year where you would turn 27 then you go by 27 as the age of conception... So if I do that then yeah it says they Should be girls. Thing is that it never specifically wth any of these charts says "add a year" and it's sort of silly
What's funny is in this case wether I use the chart as is or add a year it says this baby should be a boy... Guess we will find out

Out of 3 pregnancies, that chart only has one gender correct, if I add on a year for me turning the next age that year, then it has 2 correct x

Yeah, from what I know most chart have you use your lunar age and month... and I think in this case the Dr said to just use your true age. Praying it's wrong!!!! Lol!!!!!!! I don't really put too much faith in these things anyways. But thought it was interesting that all mine were right except I couldn't do my oldest either since I was 17 when I got pregnant with him.

The chart is correct if I don't add the year. My boys were conceived in January and I was 28 and 31 at the time but I turned 29 and 32 in the November (after they were born!). If I go by the age I turned it doesn't work. Also the gender chart says Girl for this one but Boy if I go by the age I'm turning (37). I prefer going by the actual age at conception :)
Anyway, as Atomic says, if the Chinese gender chart was actually accurate they wouldn't have so many unwanted baby girls in China!

Charts right for me only once. My second regardless of I add a year or not. Im hoping its wrong again as its saying girl for me. I think it's 50/50 as purples said if it was anywhere near accurate they would be no unwanted babies and probably only males born in China!!!!

I know you ladies are really going to think I am CRAZY... lol!!!!! Anyways, my friend told me about this site that analyzes your ultrasound with the Ramzi theory. I sent mine in... and the results say Baby GIRL. Ultimately, I obviously just want a healthy baby regardless of the gender, but the waiting game this time around is seriously killing me.
They said: Your personalized results: Your placenta favors the left side of your uterus based on rotation requisites. This view is due the angle your technician used during the scan.

Brandles whats the site. I had someone over on IG that seems to have pretty good accuracy with these say mine was a boy per ramzi and our babies are in pretty similar positions...was yours done abdominally or transvaginally? i think i read from a tech somewhere that the initial idea one is mirrored and the other is not is wrong so they are both actually mirrored so what appears to be left will be right and vice versa

I'm confused with scans. Can anyone answe if they class baby on right as I'm near your right arm? Or on right as in the person looking at you sees your right (which is actually your left) I always thought it was as you looked down on yourself but reading some previous posts I'm not to sure. Does ultrasound flip the image? So it's the opposite to what it looks on pic?
Burakoam
September 5th, 2016, 01:49 PM
baby my understanding is when you are looking at your ultrasound scan your left is your right and your right is your left. I swear i just read the other day where a tech debunked why so many people guessed ramzi wrong because they said they act like one is mirrored but that in reality both are mirrored...so no matter abdominally or T/V Your left is your right and your right is your left..if the tech is right and you look at a scan from your daughter that you were told was a boy, was she on the left or right?
only reason this is BS to me is i had it confirmed 100% from the ultrasound tech and a fertility doctor that angela was on the right side. SO either i was in the 2.7% of girls who implant on the right (lol wtf kind of odds..no wonder my luck is garbage then) or ramzi really is a garbage theory and anyone who gets it right is lucky with a 50/50 odds

These are 2 scan pics. The first is my first daughter she was on the left it so I'm lead to believe but on the pic it looks like right. The second pic is my last dd. She was on the right although on pic it looks left (I'm going on placenta) but I'm not sure if I've got it wrong way round haha either way ones ramzi and one isent!

September 5th, 2016, 02:10 PM
well angela was for sure on the right so its possible but your picture is really hard to see to know for sure..i trust what YOU believe so then yes if ramzi is accurate you and i had girls in the 2.7% that prefered the right...i swear my first was a right side placenta baby too so i just dont know how much i BELIEVE ramzi at this point...i have this feeling because they guessed boy with angela and boy with this one that means its actually another gir...

Ugh... it was gender experts. Ramzi Theory - The Gender Experts (http://www.thegenderexperts.com/ramzi-theory.html)
I thought I remembered someone saying that the transvaginal ultrasound is correct true image, but abdominally is flipped. I could be totally off, but that's just what I remembered reading.

I havent had an early scan this time. But I have to say I'm thinking girl. I cant explain 100% why. Its just daft stuff like when out shopping etc i catch myself looking at girls clothes/prams etc. I've picked a girls name. I've dreamed it's a girl. All the old wives takes (which I know are rubbish) point to girl. I guess I just have no boy feelings at all. The only thing I'm clinging too is I've been far more poorly. But I've even got same aversions/craving on foods and drinks. I guess i just cant let myself beleive it could be a boy. Its probably a self defence factor to minimise my potential dissapointment xxx

Baby honestly exact same situation. I just feel it has to be a girl... Granted I'm 3 girls in and I was convinced every girl was a boy so either my intuition sucks and I should always bank on opposite of what I feel or it is as you say a defense mechanism after so much disappointment..

Well, I wouldn't hang my hat on Ramzi. My sweet DS3 implanted on the left side, and my corpus luteum was on the left side (I ovulated from the left ovary). He's very much a boy [emoji4]!
All this means, implanting, and which side you ovulate from, just means that particular month you released a healthy egg from whichever side. Even which side the embryo implants in can be encouraged by which side you sleep on (I became a left side sleeper when TTCing last time).
All I'm saying is that all of this is just a best guess. Please don't put too much faith in these "theories" or let them upset you. I would trust in an anatomy scan or a NIPT.

That's why I don't put much stock into it. I've two scan pics both on same side (2 diff children) and theyve said girl for one and boy for the other. Plus there's two of you with bubs on same side and been told 2 different things! It's one of them where they might get it right 50/50 so the half who were right will swear by it but the others won't. I've also noted they only allow posative/correct reviews on site.
Not to dash anyone's dreams I just wouldn't get hopes up as you might end up devastated like me last time!! xxx

All I know is mine is in the right, hoping Ramzi is right for me this time but it was wrong last time... Me and XX were in the same due date group with our current youngest and she had a left implant after hoping for a girl for her hubby and I had a right implant and was hoping for my first boy... Neither of us got what we wanted but we BOTH got what we needed I think... Now we can't imagine our worlds without our littlests. I hope Ramzi is right this time but not holding my breath...only difference I think is I am certain this time I ovulated from te left and implanted in the right but with Angela I ovulated from the right and implanted there... Maybe it's not as reliable when you ovulate from the same side they implant on? Cinss do you know what ovary made your beautiful baby girl this time?

I have no idea which side I ovulated from this time. Last time it was the right as they told me in 2 different scans but I have had 3 scans and none of them looked at my ovaries this time. The previous cycle was monitored so it was the right side, I think both boys were right... I'm pretty sure I hardly ovulate from the left!
I have my first appointment today! I'm excited to have reached this milestone :) I also have the day off so I can do some shopping for maternity pants.

Sounds like a fun weekend as long as you aren't feeling too sick already from morning sickness! You could order soft drinks in short glasses so it looks like you are drinking spirits.
I'm no good a hiding it with people I normally would drink with. I told my friend yesterday about being pregnant and she said she already worked it out but didn't want to say anything because she knows I have had miscarriages. She did tell her partner a few weeks ago that I wouldn't be drinking at her birthday party because I was pregnant, that was before I had even told her!

I looked up a chart for CRL of 60mm and it said 12+2 so I'm confused! Oh well... I will know soon enough :)
I got the actual risk score and it is 1:1735 for downs and 1:3330 for tri18. That is pretty good for my age as based on being 36 it is 1:270.
