I am with you - I dont test until after AF is due. I was sure I was pregnant with DS1 - but I didnt test positive until nearly a week after AF was due even though I knew! & then I had no symptoms at all with DS2 & forgot AF was due LOL. He was a very definte positive 1 day after AF was due. Its so tempting to test early but I dont think it is worth the stress! OPKs are still negative (day 16 today) so probably fri or saturday now which is fine with me because thats closer to the new moon! hehehe... Not that I think that sways but who knows! it doesnt hurt that it is around that time I guess.

Hi Atomic
So on the packaging of my OPK's it clearly states the line has to be the same as OR darker than for it to = a positive OPK. So, in the case of this image of mine recently, i would def say day 12 is exactly that. Would you say the previous two days are fade ins and also negative? Im only asking this question because i remember you saying to attempt at the FIRST positive and not the darkest. Many thanks x

I cant do a test for at least another week. Ive been really crampy the past 4 days, its either implantion or I'm about to get AF. Having said that - I have a good feeling about this month, but then again maybe thats just wishful thinking! My hubby released on his own every night for more than 3 weeks before our attempt, so combined with that, 6 months of LE, 10kg weight loss for me & still breastfeeeding, OLE & peppermint tea for him, I figured we had to give his poor swimmers a fighting chance :fx: we used sylk last time we conceived our DS2 (failed shettles with BD 5 days before positive OPK), so I am sure it wouldnt hamper our attempt too much & it was either that or ky (which we used with DS1) . I figured it was the better option & we needed something if you know what I mean  Overall I am quite happy with my sway. I really dont have any regrets other than running out of OPK 3 days before ovulation because it was so delayed & the new ones that I purchased were a really dodgy batch even though they were the same brand. This meant that I checked a few times a day in the last 2 days which I regret but I was so worried that I was going to miss our opportunity this month & ovulation was delayed. Im really hating this 2WW. I just want to know already! I have had quite a few cheats this week because I figure if we have already conceived I cant influence it anymore. Im already planning a celebratory dinner with a steak :celebrate:

Atomic, help?!! (or anyone with any clue) pretty please...
I have no idea what is going on this cycle?!Ive never had a positive opk earlier than CD12 (not in the past year anyway). I started testing this week on CD10 considering i usually get a +opk on CD12 or CD13 but mostly CD12 and as you can see CD10 is negative BUT so are the rest of the tests and they seem to get lighter and almost nothing on CD13. Have i missed the boat here? Would it have been possible to have gotten a positive opk before CD10? Im confused and not sure if i should have just BD last night or should tonight or what to do now.. This is very unusual for me. (I had a once off ewcm yesterday been dry before that).. I can test again tmw on CD14 but i cant see these tests all of a sudden going solid dark lines especially with the way they are going here.. Im not charting and have no idea when i ovulate!.. Arrrg..what a waste of a month!

Looking Back it's the darker one of the lot now. But it's not a positive im almost sure. It looks exactly like picture on the box which illustrates a negative. I'm so annoyed this happened. Feels typical. We BD last night anyway. I've got a bladder infection I think so maybe that's delayed ovulation. Oh well. Not much I can do now.

Wow! 3 weeks! In February I started out with a plan of my DH do FR but I dropped it along the way. We didn't do FR or abstain just DTD protected whenever before attempt. I guess you could drop the FR altogether for next cycle and see if you get a bfp that way.. I guess it depends on how long you've been ttc for and how desperate you are to be pregnant. I'm 39 so I wanted to keep things really simple for us to try get preg quickly. I'd rather drop everything and still keep one attempt personally before adding attempts. But if this goes on too long I might start thinking differently too. X

Im 36 tomorrow but Im keen to fall pregnant ASAP. I cant afford to lose anymore weight, & I have been trying to hold steady for a few months now. Because DH is 40 we have been advised for him not to abstain, but I think your idea of cutting back on the FR is a good one. We tried for nearly a year to fall pregnant with DS1 & I am sure that frequent BD was the reason why it wasnt working for us. DS2 was 2 maybe 3 attempts 4 days before positive OPK. Im also planning on going away in sept with the kids so if we dont fall pregnant this month sept will either be a write off or I will have to cancel our holiday.

I do not want any female swayer taking Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) It's been linked to strokes in young women and also causes palpitations for lots of women.

dont stress! a few days wont change much. I even ate 2 party pies at a birthday party today - my first in 9months! once again, I figured 2 party pies wont break 9 months of swaying & I figure the the more relaxed the better I will be. my opk was -ve today but I swear I can feel ovulation pains as I type. I was also really convinced last month, but I'm just going to go with the flow this time around & try not to read too much into it.

Tomorrow starts the 32nd week on this LE diet & I cant wait to test at the end of the week (if I can wait that long!). I had a lot of cramping on saturday (5dpo opk). Trying not to read too much into it but I'm a bit excited.

Hi Hun. I did just the one attempt day before positive OPK and used Sylk. Surprised it worked tbh. (We dtd 4 days prior to attempt, protected) Was on LE for 7 months. And strangely enough i feel like im still on LE. I dont snack and im not hungry in the mornings.. think ive trained myself the LE way now! Lol..
What day are you on now? I tested 8dpo and it was negative. So i waited till AF didnt show to test again xx

September 5th, 2016, 07:38 AM
if opk was on monday & ovulation cramps on tueday Im not sure what dpo I am now today (monday), Do you count ovulation days as 1 or 0? if 0, I guess I am 6dpo but who knows! Its all so confusing. My attempt has been the same as yours really. BD E3d, so we ended up BD 1 day before +opk & then 1 day after ovulation. Sylk at atttempt & I didnt J&D. Really hoping this is my month! I know what you mean about the LE! I am so used to not eating breakfast now, its really just the snacking that i miss.

September 5th, 2016, 07:57 AM
I got a positive on CD14, and then assuming i ovulated on CD15 that would put me at CD16 was 1DPO but of course i could have ovulated anywhere between 12 and 36 hours afte the positive. Either way i tested too early. Best is to wait till AF due, however i know how hard that can be... if you can make it to 10DPO or even better 12DPO then you will probably get a more accurate result. If you got a positive opk on Monday and you think you ovulated on Tuesday, then Wednesday would be 1DPO.
kc15880
September 5th, 2016, 08:24 AM
thats what Im thinking too. ovulated CD18 (tuesday), now CD24 so 6dpo. I dont know which is worse - waiting to ovulate or waiting for AF/to test! Last pregnancy I didnt have any symptoms at all until I was 8weeks even though I got a early BFP. I guess these breastfeeding hormones make me less likely to feel early signs. I had horrendous breast pain with DS1 so I knew I was pregnant even though I kept getting a BFN & didnt get a BFP until I was well over a week late for AF. I was really shocked with the early BFP with DS2 with no symptoms at all. Time will tell...

Well interesting fact for you ladies - when I was pregnant on my 3rd there was 6 couples including my hubby and I, who were all pregnant and we all had 2 boys and 5 of them went onto to have a girl and I was the only one to have another boy, who is my world now and I love him dearly!! But the chances are quite high to go on and have a girl apparently and there are so many other couples I know who have 2 boys and 1 girl (in my area anyway). I'm the only one with 3 boys ... So there u go, I've a feeling and hoping ye both go on to have ur long awaited little girl xx

waiting, waiting.... had way too much to eat today. Part of me thinks that if I am pregnant than its not going to change anything now, but part of me just keeps wanting to stick to LE incase we need another month of attempts. I find that the days that I work are really easy to do the LE diet, & the days that I am at home or out & about with the kids its really hard. Im also finding it harder to stick to in a way the longer this goes on. That sounds a bit crazy but I am really over the no snacking part. Im quite used to not having breakfast now & I am finding that quite natural but it the afternoons that are the hardest for me. only 8dpo today but also CD26 so I AF should be here in the next 2-4 days. I couldnt help myself & tested this morning & got a BFN, but it was just a cheap internet test not a good quality test. I will leave the good ones for the weekend.

I know the wait kills! I tested 8dpo with bfn. I got a bfp 13dpo. Im a 26 day cycle. Fingers crossed for you KC! Keep up the LE you're doing great. Even if you give in here or there that doesnt matter.. I think its when we go totally off track its harder to get back on. I know i only ttc for 2 cycles but i was on my best LE for 7 months so i understand the snacking bit. It is the most strangest thing but now im not hungry in the mornings and i dont snack. I dont know if it is my subconscious or if im just programmed or tainted.. its not deliberate either.. Its almost like when i told myself i could not - i wanted to, and now that i CAN i dont need to! Anyway... im sure ill be back to my eating habits soon! Good luck hun. I know you will keep me posted. Thinking of you xx Hang in there xxx :)

we cant afford to skip a month so we wont go away. its not the end of the world. Atomic has suggested increasing kj, protein & fat. adding in eggs 4-6times a week, full fat dairy once a day & red meat once a week. Hopefully that helps without swaying blue too much. I didnt get any EWM last month which was really rare for me so hopefully this will be our month! If it can bring ovulation forward by just a few days we might still go away, & that might give me a better chance of a longer luteal phase too.

Hey Amelia. How frustrating and sorry it didnt happen this time but hun maybe the 3 weeks break was necessary. The diet for me was the hardest and i gave myself a few full days of eating how i needed to eat because i would have given up totally otherwise.. Ive been battling to be honest. Severe bloating (like ridiculous) with mild abdominal cramping, constipation etc.. I suffer from this anyway but since BFP it has more than trippled with all symptoms at once! Anyway, medicine wasn't working so Doc put me on other meds which i started today. So if i can just get that to tone down a bit i can hopefully start enjoying this pregnancy..
I did a light sway hun so i didnt have much to drop. My DH didnt take anything. I only took fibre and FA but a week or so before attempt due to my bloating i stopped them to see if that would stop the bloating (didnt). First 'failed' attempt i did J & D and i took antihistamine, one attempt at +opk and used Sylk. Next attempt i didnt J & D and no antihistamine. We BD day before positive (cos my opk's were getting lighter not darker so we just DTD, and then got a positive opk the next day), used Sylk, and only the one attempt. I did LE for 7 months and i was couch potatoe. I only weighed/recorded food in app food for like a week but that wasnt really my thing so i gave it up and just skipped breakfast, had two meals a day and lots of wine. I had coffee with milk in the am and diet coke in the day.. i had a treat with a meal if i wanted to xx

Not sure on duration but I just took one tablet an hr before attempt. Yes. True it dries up CM and that's why I didn't really need it because I don't have much in the first place, but for our second attempt I was really dry already so taking one would have been redundant in my opinion.

Hi! I totally understand with your struggling lately! These past 3 months I have got slacker with each 2WW - still only eating twice a day but eating more than I have been so going over my daily totals. In a way it has made it easier going back into it hard everytime AF shows though. Ive been on the LE diet for 36weeks now! Thats almost the same length as a pregnancy. Skipping breakfast isnt too difficult anymore but I still miss snacking & meat. Ive been eating red meat once a week for the past month to try & help my short luteal phase so that has been nice & I really look forward to that meal. I would dump the antihistimine, J&D & lube if you dont really need it. I worry a bit now that I have had to add in the red meat & full fat dairy but I also thought I might be pregnant by now. My first took ages to conceive but my second was almost instant! LOL. Fingers crossed that AF stays away this weekend.

5dpo our 4th attempt. I am so relaxed this cycle as I expect it to fail again. We BD every 4 days but it ended up being at +opk so its almost 1 attempt really. It was a monitored cycle too so lots of blood tests to pinpoint ovulation - the bes news is that I already knew before they told me based on signs from previous months. Im really not sure what to change next. I have a short luteal phase which I think is our problem. i have introducedfull fat dairy, loads of eggs & red meat back in to my diet. Added in breakfast (toast) occasionally & dropped some breastfeeds to see if that will help. I think I have just come to the conclusion that I am just really good at making boys & I think that is just the way it is going to go.

Thanks hun. It is bitter sweet being here. I guess that's what happens when no one knows you are pregnant, you have to go through it alone...
Wishing the time away for it to end so i can get my head around trying again xx

So did you get pregnant right after your chemical pregnancy? I mean before your next period? Did you do any swaying? I'm sorry to hear of your losses but congrats on a dd!

No i had chemical and another period then fell pregnant.
As far as swaying goes, i did start out swaying but after the two losses i just went with what i felt comfortable with which was decaf tea and coffee. DH took OLE. Plenty of Diet coke because i really like it anyway.
Hubby was heaviest weight (he's tall) hubby mostly eats veg but was eating meat every now and again and drinking wine and beer
i was drinking wine etc but started to cut back as i just wanted to be pregnant so thought i should cut that out.
i have been veggie (pescatarian rather as occasionally eat fish) - for about 3 and a half years.

Congratulations! Can I ask was this pregnancy different symptom wise? ie early symptoms or different ones? I know the theory is there is no rhyme or reason but the pregnancy I just lost I had symptoms immediately - very sore breasts and nausea galore whereas with my boys I had no symptoms and got a surprise BFP so I do believe the pregnancy I lost was a girl though can't prove it of course.

It was a bit of a different pregnancy but not due to major differences. I had nausea with my boys and i did with her too - accept i was getting sick every day for about 3 weeks and had to go on to meds to feel semi decent where as i never had to do that with the boys. My breast were never sore once. Not when i found out i was pregnant nor as the pregnancy progressed until the day of delivery i never had any soreness at all, where as with my boys sore boobs came very early on in pregnancy. I did crave tuna and bacon but that could be because i have not had meat in almost 4 years..
Im sorry to hear of your loss.. Its not easy - (ive lost 3). But your baby will come to you.. Believe it! x

Thank you for your reply and I'm sorry for your losses too. I am thrilled for you that you got your girl. I love reading success stories. :) she's a lucky girl to have big brothers!
You know, I do feel really good about this next month for some reason! Still waiting for AF, I think being sick delayed ovulation so I'm now 2 days late with a little spotting but with negative PT. I'm going to make sure we do the E4D even if I am sick as a dog again. Lol!

Brilliant! Go for it. You have everything to gain. Don't give up. E4d is what i did - Plus 1 at positive OPK.

DS3 is now 1.5yrs old. Time has flown by quickly. I love him to pieces & he was so very wanted after the miscarriage that I had before conceiving him. He has a few early signs of autism (eldest brother also has autism) that we are watching incredibly closely & we have started speech therapy. Its Frustrating as this is why we tried to do gender selection before we had him to reduce the risk. I couldnt imagine life without him though. We will have to travel to do IVF & it will be hard keeping it a secret from family with all the travel. We might need to go several times to get a viable embryo. We are hoping to start our first cycle in 4 weeks. :fx:
