I am from asian background, seven my relatives who had boys all took calcium tablets 6 months prior to pregnancy. It seems a golden rule to take calcium for having a boy, it is so conflicting to our principle here, but I can see it works well nearly 100% successful rate.

Can any expert explain why? It is so confusing!!

Calcium isn't recommended for a girl sway anymore - I think that's been debunked and a lot on here (myself included!) got boys taking calcium supplements!

That's not conflicting to the principles here -- InGender is who still thinks calcium is a no no.

So if I want to have a boy, should I try calcium tablets? I thought the basic principle is sodium and potassium for boy, calcium and magnesium for girl. Am I wrong? Pls help! thanks !!

You should ideally have high nutrition from diet.

I took a calcium/magnesium supplement every 2nd day as part of my boy sway 3+ years ago and will be doing so again as part of my next boy sway. I had limited calcium when I conceived my DDs

I personally think calcium sways blue, I got my last two boys taking calcium supplements and all four boys with lots of dairy. This is also backed up by the best study ever done on prepregnancy diet and gender of baby conceived, with the moms who had the highest calcium intake having the most boys. I let people do it just because it's their life and their sway, but I do not believe in it at all and got my girl with both my husband and I not doing supplements and also not having much dairy, esp. compared to our other conceptions where we both were having tons of it.

I actually HATE my blue swayers to cut out calcium from their diets. It does absolutely nothing because all that happens is that your body takes calcium from your bones and teeth and the level in your body never changes. The claims of the mineral balancing diets simply cannot be true and it's been proved to be biologically impossible.

This is what the "mineral balancing" diets claim but we have a different diet we use on this site and you can read that here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/trying-to-conceive-a-boy/16806-high-everything-diet-nutshell-version.html

Thanks very much atomic! I will have a read. So do you think I should particularly take calcium tablets or just try to get calcium from food? Thanks!

Calcium from food is best. But I would still suggest a supplement a couple of times a week just to make sure you have enough.

I like all blue swayers to take a prenatal anyway and many of them have calcium. It is up to you if you get it from diet or supps, I think diet is best but DO take a prenatal or women's multivitamin like One a Day Women's (this does have some calcium in it and I got 2 of 4 boys taking it daily.)
