Anyone know how melatonin affects a girl sway? I am needing something to help me sleep during the day for nights I work and I can't do Benadryl anymore... The hangover effect kills me for hours into my shift no matter what time I take it. No idea why that is.... Anyway I tried to do a search and didn't get any results back on this.
Thanks!!!

The issue with Melatonin is not for swaying, it's because taking it during pregnancy has been pretty definitively linked to developmental delays, and because it's a naturally occuring hormone that your body makes, taking it and then stopping it suddenly at ovulation or BFP or whatever, may cause miscarriage. So that leaves ya in a position of risking stopping it suddenly, or risking taking it into pregnancy long enough to wean off it.
If you're taking it once in a while to help you fall asleep, that is not going to be a dealbreaker. That is ok. But if it's something that you need like 3-5 times a week that may just not be safe.
FWIW I sometimes take it when I have insomnia right before I get my period, and I find it also makes me groggy into the day. :/

Ok thank you so much! I think I'd rather just skip it in that case. I already have a child with developmental delays so I'd rather not risk that! It's only another few months and I can never tell when I'll need it or not anyway. Really appreciate the response!

This sounds terrible but the best thing for me falling asleep (I used to be plagued by insomnia in my 30's) - alcohol. :/ Just one drink really helps and I don't feel drowsy when I wake up. (stick to one tho!)
