View Full Version : Will one night of partying ruin everything?

Stupid DH has a friend in town for one night. Whenever this guy is in town, DH goes out partying with him. I couldn't talk him out of it, and asking DH to "just have a few" when he's out with this guy is like asking a dog not to bark.
How bad is one night of excessive drinking for DH's sperm count?
Anyway, I feel like I am being told by some higher power not to TTC this cycle! Every time I think I have ironed out one kink, another thing happens. I am getting SO FRUSTRATED!:hair::mad:

I honestly do not think one night will do any harm, as long as it is just one night. xxxx Can understand your upset though because I would be too LOL

I personally don't think it will ruin anything, he doesn't normally drink like that so once in a while isn't a problem. I do understand how you feel about trying this month, I was meant to start trying from May and I keep chickening out because of some excuse. My husband has just had enough of me saying I'll always have an excuse every month so I told him most likely will just go for it at the end of the month. Good Luck

I agree with girls, one night probably won't do any harm + this cycle he will be releasing older sperm. If you are worried about number and motility, boost him with some extra Co-Q 10 and l-carnitine.

I think one night will be fine and it's not worth upsetting yourself or DH over. IMO if you're working hard on you just go w/ DH as much as he is willing. Then don't stress. There have been a lot of successful sways without the DH doing anything. Just make him boy meals and focus on you :)

Thanks ladies! He did drink a bit, but actually came home early and wasn't absolutely wasted, so I call that a WIN!

Well, we ended up not going for it last night. :( I wasn't sure of the timing this week, but in hindsight, we should have done it on CD9 I guess. I just thought that was going to be too early, and I wanted DH to have a good 3 day abstain. So we had planned to DTD last night (CD11), and I started to panic and get cold feet. When I talked to DH about it, we ended up getting into a fight (my indecisiveness makes him NUTS) so after that, he refused to DTD at all. :( ANd by morning he was still annoyed, and now the kids are up and we can't do it. By tonight, it will be too close to O+12, so I guess we have to wait for next cycle. The good thing is I will still O in October, so all hope is not lost. :)

Oh bummer! I'm so sorry!!!
I was totally walking on eggshells with DH when we were TTC - living in terror that he would refuse to DTD!! :)

I know, it really sucks. I was in the right moon sign and everything! I should have pushed to DTD yesterday morning, because I really think it would have been good timing. But the kids were up, my son had a soccer game... I just kind of decided not to try. DH probably would have if I had pushed him byt maybe not no way to know now. Now I am beating myself up about it! I looked at the moon sign chart, and I am not sure I will O under a male sign next time. Would you attempt anyway?
I am such a wreck over this. I have really bad anxiety issues and a total "hind sight is 20/20" complex. I hate it!

I would def attempt regardless of moon sign. I don't put any stock into it!
You're so right about hindsight - I think people have just as many regrets not trying as they do trying!!

You really don't believe in the moon sign? There's a whole thread on IG about it, and the success rate is pretty good--69%. I know it isn't 100%, and it is a small sample, but I would like it to line up, if for nothing else but my sanity's sake! Both my girls were conceived in girl signs, and my son may have been in a boy sign--not totally sure on that one though.

One million percent, with all my being, do not believe in moon signs determining gender. I read the thread on IG and I think it's just luck that it came out as it did. Lest you think I'm just down on astrology, I actually kinda believe astrology could have some effect on personality, but not gender ratio. I've read quite a bit about it and I'm not dismissing it out of hand, it just doesn't add up with science.
I don't blame anyone for wanting to try stuff but at the same time, that was my attitude with supplements and my sway (even though I didn't really believe cal-mag swayed pink, I still took the cal/mag/vit D/B6 and ended up with Boy 4) and so I just worry when I see you guys consider risking stuff that has scientific support to try and match up with moon signs.:nails:
