View Full Version : 2nd Fail after Ectopic

Hi Ladies,

I've been off the boards for a bit after my ectopic.

Had a BFN after attempt last month, and am now 11 days post attempt.
I was trying to wait until 14 days to test, but yesterday I caved in and got a BFN on a 'One Step' 10mIU test.
I tested as I was feeling nausea the last few days, but then yesterday realised it was cos I am coming down with something (sore throat, and earache).

Any tips for my next attempt ?
I am using a Clear Blue Digital Ovulation kit, and trying to relax and not stress (which is easier said than done!)
Anything else I can do ?

Tell me what you're doing and I can tell you what I would tweak first.

Hi Atomic,

I think I may have the answer as to why it's not happening.
Today I got a letter from my Dr saying
'Your Antithrombin III blood test came back borderline, we need to retest you'
So I went straight to the Blood Unit and had a vial taken for testing.

I've been doing the LE diet
But because of our loss, we decided not to do the one attempt.
We would love a girl of course (so I am still dieting), but at this stage and after the trauma of the ectopic, and my age (36 now) we just want a baby !
So as soon as my OPK gives a flashing smiley face we DTD every other day, until the static smiley face (Clear Blue Digi OPK) , at which point we DTD again.
Also :
3 strong cups of Peppermint tea a day (up until O day)
Chitosan
Baby Aspirin
Folic Acid 1000mcg

Husband is taking Olive Leaf 500mg - he forgets a lot though :(

Hi Atomic,

I am super super mad right now.
I called to get the results of the blood tests today, and was told "Oh your test is normal, and the one before that was normal too, we're really sorry, but that other borderline result was a mix up."
Someone else at the surgery has the same name as me !

So to clarify all my clotting tests, and all the other peri menopause tests etc are normal.
There's me panicking for a week now, thinking I am about to drop dead from a blood clot.

Ai caramba!! Epic facepalm. :(

Even more reason to come off the aspirin if you don't have any clotting disorders. If you're taking this for swaying, it isn't working and some evidence indicates it may raise odds of miscarraige for some people.

I wrote a letter of complaint yesterday.
This is just another epic fail from the GP, they referred me to the IVF clinic....but they ended up taking so long (because of their admin mistakes), that my 35th birthday passed - meaning I am not eligible for free treatment.

I am stopping the Aspirin immediately.
In good news, since all this stress happened I've lost 5lbs where my weight loss had plateued

I will do.

Well I'm hoping they will, I have to go through a few formal stages to complain, and then I can appeal.

I think 40 should be the cut off here too.
There are so many hoops to jump through.
We actually moved areas, because each county/borough has it's own rules.
The last county had a rule that you're not eligible if either you or your partner have living children - my partner has 2 boys from a previous marriage.
What a load of nonsense that is !
